Somali-American role model and activist Halima Aden is remarkable. On this very inspiring episode, she tells Leomie what it was like being photographed in the arms of white celebrities as a baby in Africa, why her mother smashed her homecoming crown and after a highly publicised exit, why she walked away from fashion at the peak of her career.  Halima Aden was born and raised in Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, where her family fled to escape the civil war. After landing in the US, Halima began blazing her trail, becoming the first Muslim model to wear a hijab in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant, which led to covers on Allure, Teen Vogue and British Vogue. Role Model Odell Beckham Jr is not just a superstar athlete. He’s a style sensation, a trainer fanatic and a family man. Known to friends and fans as OBJ, he is an American football wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Beckham was drafted by the New York Giants in 2014. In 2016, he became the fastest player in NFL history to reach both 200 career receptions and 4,000 career receiving yards. But in this episode we aren’t talking about the game. Instead, he tells Leomie about his first love (soccer) and the alternate universe where he’s kicking a ball and scoring goals. They also discuss over coming the ‘what ifs’ in life and how music helps him envision game play. His determination, sacrifice and drive make Odell the definition of a Role Model.
