Description

Sant Attar Singh Ji, the most widely known and respected Sant in modern times, was born at Cheema, a village in the erstwhile Jind State (now in Sangrur district of Punjab, India) on 28 March 1866.
His advocacy of education for the girl-child, and blending education with spirituality show his sense of foresightedness. Even a century back, he knew that mere scientific education would only lead to destruction, and education of the girl-child would result in the whole family getting educated.
Towards that end, he first set up a school for girls in 1906.

In this episode of Sant Attar Singh Ji Jeevan Katha (Audio Book), we hear about an important chapter in the spiritual journey of Sant Attar Singh Ji Maharaj, involving Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran Sahib, Master Tara Singh, and the Sangat taking Amrit. After leaving Mai Ram Kaur Ji's Bunga, Sant Ji Maharaj travelled towards Amritsar Sahib with Sardar Gharbara Singh Ji. Before leaving, Sant Ji instructed Mai Bhagwanti Ji to bring only four members of the Jatha, although the Jatha consisted of 25 people. However, Mai Bhagwanti Ji followed with eight devotees. On the way, a priest from Tarn Taran Sahib, who had invited Sant Ji Maharaj for Prashad, learned that Sant Ji was travelling towards Amritsar. He followed them in a tanga and requested Sant Ji to stop and accept his invitation.Sant Ji Maharaj responded with great humility and patience, explaining that they would accept Prashad when the opportunity arose. He also said that if they had been stopped within the boundary of Tarn Taran Sahib, they might have turned back—but now they had reached the area of Amritsar, and the devotees had prevailed.Sant Ji made it clear that the Hukam was to continue forward. This episode also connects with the important theme of Amrit Chhakna (Khande di Pahul) and the spiritual awakening of the Sangat, making it a meaningful part of the larger life journey of Sant Attar Singh Ji Maharaj.🎙️ Listen to this episode to explore a fascinating chapter involving Sant Attar Singh Ji, Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran Sahib, the Sangat, Amrit, Gurmat, and Divine Hukam.© Copyright - The Kalgidhar Trust - Baru SahibProduced by - Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, PunjabBook Reference:Gurmukh Pyare - Sant Attar Singh Ji, Mastuana Sahib WaleWritten By - Sant Teja Singh ji, M.A., L.L.B.
