Episode 445:   🎙️ This Week on the CommanderSmiths Podcast! 🎙️ 🦸 MARVEL'S HISTORY OF HEROES! 💥 The next Secret Lair release is here, and this one is celebrating decades of Marvel superheroes, villains, and iconic moments! We're breaking down the brand-new Secret Lair Countdown Kit: Marvel's History of Heroes, launching November 2nd, and asking the BIG question... 💰 IS THIS $200 SECRET LAIR WORTH BUYING?! This Countdown Kit contains 30 individually packaged Magic cards featuring artwork from more than 30 artists, celebrating the history of the Marvel Universe. Even crazier, the cards can come in non-foil, foil, or the coveted SURGE FOIL treatment! 🤯 And there's plenty to talk about! 🔥 In This Episode: 🦸 The entire Marvel's History of Heroes Countdown Kit 💰 Is the $199.99 price tag worth it? ✨ Non-foil vs. foil vs. SURGE FOIL treatments 🔥 Notable reprints and Commander staples ⚡ Doctor Strange, Master of Magic and Beta Ray Bill 📈 Break Point (BP) and potential value 🎨 Our favorite artwork and card treatments 🤔 Is this a must-buy for Marvel fans, MTG players, or collectors? With cards like Fierce Guardianship, Opposition Agent, Heroic Intervention, Lightning Bolt, Vigor, and more, there are some serious Commander cards in this collection! But does the overall package justify the price, or would you be better off buying individual cards? 💬 Are YOU buying Marvel's History of Heroes? Let us know in the comments whether you're grabbing the Countdown Kit, passing on it, or just hunting for your favorite singles! 🚨Live Cast Here🚨 https://youtube.com/live/PgycAj3An9w   💰 What Is Break Point (BP)? Break Point helps figure out how many drops you need to buy before one becomes "free." Because let's be real — we all want that freebie drop for the shelf! 😎 How It Works: 1️⃣ Add up the lowest Foil + Non-Foil values. 2️⃣ Subtract fees, shipping, and the drop cost to find Net Profit. 3️⃣ Divide total profit by drop cost = your BP. Example: If a drop costs $40 and nets $80 → BP 2 If it nets $55 → BP 4 💡 Pro Tip: Prices often dip right after shipping but usually rebound (or climb higher) 10–16 months later. Patience = profit.   💸 Donate Live!
