This week I'm talking with Sara Paxton, who appeared in Part 4 of Twin Peaks: The Return as Candy Shaker, wife of Dougie Jones' coworker Bill. Sara shared her strange (and perfectly Lynchian) experience auditioning and acting on the show, and it's everything you'd want and more from a David Lynch production. We also talked about Sara's life growing up as an actor, her love of dogs, and the Seinfeld character she was nicknamed while filming The Inkeepers This week’s musical guest is Luca De Paoli, an Italian singer-songwriter who’s released four self-produced albums and performed around the world. His latest album, Into The Night, is a tribute to the great composer and David Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti. Stick around after the interview for Luca's cover of Badalamenti’s “Sycamore Trees.”   Subscribe to this podcast so you won’t miss Part 2 of The Other Side of Darkness, coming soon. Phase One of the podcast continues: exclusive conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld (and sometimes Twin Peaks!). This week, I'm back with Jonathan Wolff, the mind behind Seinfeld's iconic theme. With Seinfeld's official soundtrack now available, Jonathan and I dug into some of the show's most memorable tracks and explored what made them work so well. We also talked about how his music has found new life in the age of memes, and how he learned a lot from the relationship between David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti (guess what--he's a fan!). Watertower Music has recently released, for the first time ever, the official soundtrack to Seinfeld--including over thirty tunes Wolff composed for the show. You can purchase it on all the major streaming apps, and listen here on Spotify. This week’s musical spotlight is a collaboration between musicians Star Madman and Brian Sangmeister. Phase One of the podcast continues. For the next several weeks, I'll be sharing conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld. This week I'm sharing a conversation I had a while back with Jonathan Wolff, the mind behind Seinfeld's iconic theme. Jonathan also composed music to over 75 other TV shows over his decades-long career, and shared the incredible story of how he created Seinfeld's music to fit each episode uniquely.  This interview was originally recorded last year for my parenting series, Dadsplaining: A Fatherhood Podcast. My cohost Brandon and I also spoke to Jonathan about his life as a father of five, and balancing his career with his home life. He had a great perspective and a lot of wisdom to share, and I think you're going to really enjoy hearing from him. I chose to dig this interview out of the vault because Watertower Music has recently released, for the first time ever, the official soundtrack to Seinfeld--including over thirty tunes Wolff composed for the show. You can purchase it on all the major streaming apps, and listen here on Spotify. This week’s musical guest is Bjear, an artist from southern Australia whose work ranges from cinematic folk to experimental electronic music. Phase One of the podcast continues. For the next several weeks, I'll be sharing conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld (and this week, Twin Peaks!).   This week I'm talking with Alicia Witt, who starred in both the original run of Twin Peaks and the revival as Gersten Hayward. Alica is also a gifted musician and songwriter, and I had the chance to speak with her about her upcoming fifth studio album The Conduit, as well as her new book Small Changes. Stick around to the end to hear her beautiful new single Chasing Shadows. Alicia is going on tour this fall across the US with stops in New York, LA, Chicago and more, beginning October 1 in Boston. Phase One of the podcast continues. For the next several weeks, I'll be sharing conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld.   This week I'm talking with Yul Vazquez, who appeared three times on Seinfeld as Bob, the intimidating street tough that terrorized Kramer with his partner Cedric. We talked about working with the late John Paragon, his upcoming project The White House Plumbers, directed by Seinfeld's David Mandel, and his work as a guitarist, painter and photographer. This is a wide-ranging interview that I had a lot of fun recording, and I think you'll really enjoy hearing it.   This week’s musical guest is Andrew Rinehart, an LA-based musician who's been active in both the Brooklyn and LA DIY scenes for the last 12 years. Phase One of the podcast continues. For the next several weeks, I'll be sharing conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld.   This week I'm talking with John Apicella, one of just 13 actors who appeared in both the Seinfeld and Twin Peaks universes. We talked about watching the Seinfeld team work their magic in the episode The Tape, his role as Jeffrey Marsh in season 2 of Twin Peaks, and working with David Lynch in a scene that was cut from one of his films--I'll let you listen to find out which one. John shared his unique perspective on what made both shows work so well. He's an avid Lynch fan, a seasoned comedy veteran, and an all-around great guy to talk to, and I think you're really going to love hearing from him.   This week’s musical guest is Jacob Zuko, an independent pop artist from Los Angeles. Listen to the end of the show for Jacob's newest single, Leave Me Alone.   Subscribe to this podcast so you won’t miss the story once it begins. Phase One of the podcast continues. For the next several weeks, I'll be sharing conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld. This week I'm talking with Melanie Smith, who played Jerry's girlfriend Rachel Goldstein in The Raincoats, The Hamptons and The Opposite. We talked about that famous "I was in the pool!" scene, improvising on Curb with Larry David, and her decision to leave Hollywood and start a new chapter of her life on the other side of the country. Melanie had so much wisdom to share--don't miss a second of this interview. This week’s musical guest is Auramics, a psychedelic, radiophonic, musique concrète group based in NYC/LA, founded by Kristi Scarvelis & Glen Lee Flynn in 2014 in Brooklyn. Phase One of the podcast continues. For the next several weeks, I'll be sharing conversations with guest stars and crew members from Seinfeld. In this episode I talk to actor Kyle T. Hefner about his role as Gene, also known as Bizarro George, in the season 8 Seinfeld episode The Bizarro Jerry, as well as working on Curb Your Enthusiasm, meeting Garry Marshall, and how a choice he made with his role on Seinfeld almost got him fired. This week's musical guest is San Diego-based music project Vaginals. Listen to the end of the episode for the Twin Peaks-inspired song Laura's Dream.
