Harri B (UK) and Prissy Ryan (LA) are two friends who LOVE to eat fish and meat but since they watched 'Seaspiracy' it's ruined everything for them. Before watching ‘Seaspiracy’ they'd never seriously considered a change to their eating habits but after seeing this film - and loads of long-distance chats they felt compelled to at least try to become some sort of flexitarians. So what was it about this film that made two non-vegetarian, fish-eating Northerners decide to look at what they eat differently and reduce their meat and fish intake? Absolute rookie vegetarians - a self-confessed veg dodger and a calamari addict - both will share the ups and downs of saying goodbye to meat and fish dishes making up the bulk of their meals UK and Stateside. As well as chatting all-things-food, the ladies talk streaming, film, and TV, and generally about stuff they’ve seen on Instagram... combined with laughing... a lot. The ladies are still on their quest to keep to 4 to 5 fish-free and meat-free days a week, having gone from eating meat and fish virtually every day of their lives. Harri’s had some delicious Itsu veg dumpling parcels, from the frozen food aisle of all places! Who knew! Steam and serve with hoisin dipping sauce – DELICIOUS – so check your grocery store frozen food sections guys! And Prissy’s had her first vegan ice-cream – loving life! The ladies have been streaming series ‘Click Bait’ for Harri, and Prissy reviews, ‘The Act’ on Hulu, ‘The Suicide Squad’ (2021) and ‘Cinderella’ (2021) featuring Camila Cabello… and advises watching ‘The Courier’ instead – a spy story based on true events, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as her top watch. Prissy’s tried to up her lunch game – finding a spring roll filling recipe with great textures and flavors, ‘Egg Roll Bowls’ from Delish.com – highlighted with ginger and Prissy does her usuals swap outs featuring her beloved Impossible plant-based mince – definitely one that’ll be shared on the Insta page if you fancy trying for a #WithoutWednesday – and also serves as a good main meal with rice. And another lunch win was Prissy’s veggie burritos. And for main, another Delish.com dish, ‘Skinny Alfredo’ pasta made with Greek yoghurt  – another absolute winner! Harri’s been on the veggie tray bake trail, using up ingredients, seasoning them well and combining with salad due to a busy work schedule – but still keeping on a tasty track to keeping meat and fish from making up the bulk of meals… she’s even been eating home grown potatoes from a bucket in the garden! Join Harri B and Prissy Ryan each week on their journey to sharing the tasty recipes they've loved, and anything else that pops into their heads - all because they watched one documentary. As well as chatting all-things-food, the ladies talk streaming, film, and TV, and generally about stuff they’ve seen on Instagram... combined with laughing... a lot. In her quest for a Sunday beef roast – Harri eyes up the new pub’s roast but is disappointed to find its school-styley thin gravy and decides to go off the rails to grab a burger and regretting her pub food decisions. Prissy is delighted to discover that her beloved Impossible meat substitute has recipes on its website – which leads to the ladies sharing their forgotten passion for crispy onions. It’s been a ropey week, too much chocolate– Shin pot eating distress, not enough exercise. Prissy breaks down Harri’s eating woes and the chat focuses around how stress can really derail your good eating intentions, Prissy’s eaten the hottest-ever four cheese pizza you could imagine – filled with birds eye chillis and the stress has made her default to her passata-based dishes – leaving her. Prissy’s pulling herself out of a taco hole, the joy of finding lower-calorie alcoholic drinks (drink responsibly, guys!) and even though Harri has been dodging exercise again talks about her competitive side when she does strike the fitness class. There’s the usual ropey TV and streaming chat, stuff they’ve got round to watching but has been out a while, Harri hasn’t got the time to exercise (so she says) but has somehow managed to nail watching several series of ‘Atypical’. **ADVISORY: This week's TV reviews briefly mention recreational drugs in relation to a TV series review. Please be advised. Thank you.** Harri B (UK) and Prissy Ryan (LA) are two friends who LOVE to eat fish and meat but since they watched 'Seaspiracy' it's ruined everything for them. If you’ve ever had a friend who's become an overnight vegetarian and felt like you just can’t do it – join Harri B and Prissy, recording from their respective wardrobe/'recording studios'. Absolute rookie vegetarians - a self-confessed veg dodger and a calamari addict - both will share the ups and downs of saying goodbye to meat and fish dishes making up the bulk of their meals UK and Stateside. As well as chatting all-things-food, the ladies talk streaming, film, and TV, and generally about stuff they’ve seen on Instagram... combined with laughing... a lot. Harri is exhausted by having a social life again, and Prissy feels the same – she’s forgotten how to theme park – and is feeling totally pooped after a trip to Six Flags theme park – and instead of ‘baking’ in the studio cupboard she’s roasting in ride queues but at least she’s seriously got some steps in. Trying to do a good deed goes a bit wrong with a serious case of mistaken lost pet identity! There’s the pair’s usual sketchy streaming reviews, but Harri does make up for last time’s pod and actually shares the title of what she fancied watching, ‘Bad Influencer: The Great Insta Con’, and there’s a review of the ‘High: Confessions of an Ibiza Drug Mule’ series as well as the ‘Clarice’ series on Paramount + by Prissy. Harri brands alcohol the devil - for derailing her carefully crafted meal plans, and puts herself in a shame corner to eat calamari whilst her partner stays the course and makes her feel even more guilty about eating some extra fish. Simply Cook recipes got her back on track – she’s had a very spicy bean chilli and another ‘yummy yummy’ dish involving horseradish mash. Asian Lettuce Wraps is a swap-out success with Prissy’s beloved Impossible meat substitute - as an easy dish to serve when a pal’s over. Chilli Con Carne jackets from BBC Good Food have made a repeater appearance – yes, another Impossible swap-out by Prissy. Prissy ate out in the week and was filled with regret after eating two rubbery over-priced prawns – as well as Sunday roast regret due to MASSIVE portions she can’t manage! A new veggie recipe is Sweetcorn Curry to use the leftover corn from site, ‘Yup, it’s Vegan’ – and she’s doing her usual freaky-eater recipe customizations. Harri has Christmas sandwich temptation – YES, CHRISTMAS SANDWICH in October!!!!!  And trying to recreate a Hello Fresh dish herself from scratch proves an epic fail - not to be repeated. As well as chatting all-things-food, the ladies talk streaming, film, and TV, and generally about stuff they’ve seen on Instagram... combined with laughing... a lot. Chic-Fil-A is missing Prissy’s spicy chicken burger consumption, Harri’s got a hot phone and confesses to putting in the fridge to chill down and Prissy says RIP to her problem tooth – there’s cracking involved. Prissy can see more than two-thirds of Harri’s face for once and Harri thinks she looks like an egg! There’s a lack of showers, grimey hot-tub chat, and Harri’s on the verge of calling the Patio Police to impound her partner’s foldable biked - and she also confesses to being a nosey neighbor. Prissy gives Peacock’s, ‘Dr Death’ series, starring Joshua Jackson a plug – and confesses her love for rewatching Dawson’s Creek, a review of AppleTV series, Ted Lasso. She’s also been enjoying polishing off the remainder of her wine from her Temecula wine tour. Harri’s started watching the latest series of Virgin River that made her cry… but actually it really wasn’t Virgin River’s fault – it was the aftermath of the patio trauma - and she’s finding TV reviews even harder than normal… because the headband she’s wearing to record the pod is squeezing all of the stellar thoughts out of her brain ! She’s also forgotten the name of the other show she’s recommending to watch involving a dodgy GoFundMe campaign … really, she probably should take the headband off! Harri has big news on a foody change to her routine and feels the same guilt as if she’s broken Lent! And Prissy, surprise, surprise reveals her hatred for steamed veg and her shock at LA’s love for Brussel sprouts as starters! There’s take-away confessions from Prissy after a stressful week… and tales of how she was beaten by a quarter portion of stacked pancakes… and her partner’s called time on frozen basil! They talk about making changes that you can sustain being the way forward to eating that’s kinder on the planet – along with saying goodbye to the drive-thru and... never-ending taco seasoning!  This weeks recipes include Red Lentil Chickpea Curry soup – that was supposed to need a blender but without one to hand, Prissy used a potato masher instead! Another win is the Veggie Yaki Udon Noodle recipe that’s introduced to a new green food to her palette (thank you BBC Good Food1) and chat about simple dessert hacks to use up ingredients, plentiful tacos, all enhanced by a teeny amount of seasoned Impossible ‘mince’ meat-substitute… and Harri’s talking Simply Cook quesadillas – loving life! As well as chatting all-things-food, the ladies talk streaming, film, and TV, and generally about stuff they’ve seen on Instagram... combined with laughing... a lot. The ladies reminisce about hen dos/bachelorette parties in the quaint village of Bakewell... unfortunately with no delicious Bakewell tarts were consumed. Prissy’s having trouble roller skating and Harri’s catch-ups with pals end in consuming a disastrous vegan drink involving beetroot powder. Prissy shares her late-night promenade-pizza-slice-regret and the girls chats about home pizza ovens… and realize how much both women mention pizza on the pod.  It's a make-do recipe week for Prissy, mainly because of a shopping faux-pas meaning a case of serious missing ingredients - sabotaging her meal plan - but the week’s largely been kept meat-free and fish-free, helped by finding an emergency jar of pesto and tucking into some vegetarian meals she’s frozen… loving life. Harri’s feeling smug about her absolute bargain-a-tious and delicious Hello Fresh meal box delivery - involving an Indonesian style Tofu curry (yes, she's finally tried Tofu!), red lentil ‘spag bol’ and Prissy’s bigging up their food box deliveries she had during Covid times. There’s first-time Impossible tostadas and the pals give themselves a pat on the back for having cut down on meat and fish significantly for around 3 months now. The ladies talk plastic woes, where to get your refillable products (mostly Target in the US!) you can buy off the shelf to avoid buying as much plastic and discovering compostable coffee cups that have seeds in! Films and TV watched include Ali Wong, ‘Always Be My Maybe’ to ‘Sophie’ - quite the emotional pendulum swing... the ‘Bosch’ TV series and listening to ‘The Lost Hills’ podcast – putting the ladies off camping in the USA - for life. The duo has chosen quick recipes with ingredients that are easy to find and discovered that they’re actually starting to enjoy this new, lesser meat and fish lifestyle. The decision to change their diet is for the love of the planet but make no mistake, this really, honestly is a pair of reluctant, part-time vegetarians. As well as chatting all-things-food, the ladies talk streaming, film, and TV, and generally about stuff they’ve seen on Instagram - combined with laughing... a lot. This week Prissy’s sharing her woes about trailing around the communal garden to find mud for her chive plant that’s free of dog wee… for it to then instantly die, Harri’s got droopy coriander and the ladies ask big life questions… like, why won’t some owners pick up their dog’s poop after them? There’s no way Prissy’s starting a communal herb garden in her apartment block with these kinds of characters.  Prissy talks The Sopranos TV series and the woes of how her American voice-activated TV can’t understand her. Harri’s pining for tuna on her baked potato and there’s some serious BBQ FOMO going on – ‘To falafel or not to falafel?’ Too many and sweets, smores, and Impossible tacos are all part of their foody chat. And don’t forget the serious case of mistaken identity involving a courgette! The duo has chosen quick recipes with ingredients that are easy to find and discovered that they’re actually starting to enjoy this new, lesser meat and fish lifestyle. This week’s food fails include a Paneer-less curry... because team Harri B forgot to cook the Paneer and Harri fails to resist a full English breakfast on a trip out. Prissy’s never touching kale again after making her own soggy kale chips (crisps for the UK!). There's a win for resisting take-out (Harri's usual default of ham pizza), Harri's vowing never to have a beetroot burger again. The week's hits include some delicious meals they’re definitely adding to their rotating menus, including a meat substitute in the style of pulled pork in buns. The duo have chosen quick recipes with ingredients that are easy to find - and talk about the emotional pull that certain foods can have over us. There’s an array of budget recipes Prissy’s found on the BBC Good Food website – and is LOVING - and she’s up to her usual tricks of swapping out ingredients she refuses to eat. Harri is finally prepped to try Tofu and also confesses to having no discipline with her phone and social media so sets herself yet another challenge.  The decision to change their diet is for the love of the planet but make no mistake, this really, honestly is a pair of reluctant, part-time vegetarians. Absolute rookie vegetarians - a self-confessed veg dodger and a calamari addict - both will share the ups and downs of saying goodbye to meat and fish dishes making up the bulk of their meals UK and Stateside.
