Good morning! This week I’m at Jo-Jo's Community Garden on Stittsville Main Street. It’s a community garden and quite a special place in Stittsville, run entirely by volunteers. Good morning! Today I’m at Patrick Hartin House on Maple Grove Road. These two stone buildings are being recommended for heritage designation. The smaller cottage was built around 1840, and the larger home was built in 1886. Good morning! Today I’m in front of École élémentaire publique Cassiopée – Stittsville’s newest elementary school. It’s located in Westwood at the corner of Cope and Dagenham. It opens to students this week, along with other french-language schools in Stittsville. A reminder to drivers to slow down, put your phone away, and follow traffic and parking rules, especially near schools. And good luck to students heading back to class! Bonjour! Ce matin, je me trouve devant l’École élémentaire publique Cassiopée, la plus récente école élémentaire de Stittsville. Elle est située dans le quartier Westwood, à l’angle des rues Cope et Dagenham. Elle accueillera ses premiers élèves cette semaine, tout comme d’autres écoles francophones de Stittsville. J’en profite pour rappeler aux automobilistes de ralentir, de ranger leur téléphone et de respecter les règles de circulation et de stationnement, particulièrement aux abords des écoles. Good morning! Today I’m at CARDELREC - home of the Erica Wiebe Gymnasium. Erica will be here this afternoon for a special event to celebrate 10 years since she won an Olympic Gold Medal in Rio in wrestling. Drop by between 3:30pm-6:30pm to Meet Erica, see some wrestling, and grab a bit from local food trucks. It’s free and everyone is welcome.
