The “Parable of the Wedding Banquet,” told by Jesus (Matt 22:1-14), does not sound like good news. It’s filled with violence and vengeance and the ‘weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ It seems to contradict the biblical narrative, filled with love and healing and forgiveness, that surrounds it. What are we to do with this startling story? **********Join us In-Person or Online for Worship Sundays at 9:15am and 11:15am.Find out more about upcoming events and ways to serve our community by joining our mailing list. God created us as cultivators of the earth. There are so many seeds we can plant, seeds of love, hurt, fear, hope. What will you decide to cultivate? Peter asks Jesus, “...how often should I forgive?” and Jesus responds, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.” (Matthew 18:21-22). Easy enough to say, but the journey to forgiveness can be a long and challenging one. How do we reconcile this journey?***********Join us In-Person or Online for Worship Sundays at 9:15am and 11:15am.Find out more about upcoming events and ways to serve our community by joining our mailing list. “That’s not fair!” grumble the first-hired workers in the Parable of the Vineyard (Matt 20:1-16) - and perhaps we agree with them. But what does it mean to get a fair share when it comes to God’s limitless love and boundless generosity? The perspective Jesus offers in his parable might surprise you. **********Join us In-Person or Online for Worship Sundays at 9:15am and 11:15am.Find out more about upcoming events and ways to serve our community by joining our mailing list.
