Welcome back to Mind Your Mob YOUTH podcast ! this week I traveled back out to Scone to work with the Grammar schools year 11 kids.  Love Bites is a Respectful Relationships Education Program for young people aged 15-17 years. It consists of two interactive workshops: one on Relationship Violence, and one on Sex and Relationships, followed by creative workshops and community campaigns. Love Bites is a flexible model with options to use a full day or multi session delivery approach. The program emphasises the importance of a whole-of-school commitment to respectful relationship education.

Welcome to the first of Mind Your Mob YOUTH podcast's !  MYM YOUTH podcast are a platform for youth to be able to learn skills in podcasting as well as give them a voice in there community. The Brospeak podcast is the cultural project of a group of year 6 kids out of Singleton that are participating in the Brospeak program. The Brospeak programs main goal is to get the students to take pride in what they do at school and in the wider community. Throughout the program the students learnt how to be strong in their Aboriginal identity, know about their culture and to get the students to believe in themselves and have the confidence to reach their goals.

Clinton also works in the Health sector. we had a yarn around sport, culture and health advice for our mob in relation to tackling Tabaco and breaking the cycle. Clinton spreads a very important message for our mob in terms all-round health for our mob. really enjoyed this one and hope you mob do to. Lockie is also a big role model in the Coffs Harbor (Gumbaynggirr nation) community with numerous different projects within the community including Gumbaynggirr Language programs. Jade talks about her experience as a Aboriginal Health worker such as pathways, training, opportunities etc. Jade also gives health advice relevant to our mob. This week i had a yarn with Ken Weatherall.  come from Brewarrina and been in Newcastle since 1995, finished high school in Cardiff, been a referee for 25 years as well as being a member on the Referee Board and mentoring young Indigenous Referees in the Hunter Valley. Ken has also been involved in education for over 20 years with 17 of those years being employed in the department of education and 6 years now with Stronger Smarter institute travelling the country delivery a leadership program to school teachers and community groups with the goal of improving Aboriginal students outcome.

Cam participated in the 2020 Indigenous Marathon Foundations Midnight Marathon that took place in Alice springs. Cam does a lot of work in community and is a inspiration for our Mob. This week i had a yarn to Genus & Sam. Both theses fellas are strong Indigenous role models for youth in our community. they both work for youth express as Program coordinator's and deliver there programs to schools across the hunter.  in addition to that genus is an aspiring musician under the name Iqoniik and was a part of the putting together of some of the WARWAR exhibition at Newcastle art gallery and Sam was a finalist for the channel 7 young achiever awards.
