Description

I'm Rich, and I'm here to talk about BPD and NPD. I have both of these personality disorders, and I've been living with them for many years. I've made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I've also learned a lot.

In this podcast, I'll be revisiting some of the topics I've covered in my YouTube videos. I'll talk about how I feel about these things now, and how I handle them. I'll also share some of the things I've learned along the way.I hope this podcast will be a resource for people who are struggling with BPD and NPD. It's my goal to create a space where people can feel safe and supported. I want to help people understand that they're not alone, and that there is hope for recovery.

If you're interested in learning more about BPD and NPD, or if you just want to hear someone else's story, I encourage you to listen to my podcast. I'm always happy to answer questions and offer support.Thank you for listening!

22. NPD and Denial

NPD and denial, it helps us deal with so many problems, but it's also what keeps us getting better.
Age regression with BPD isn't a marker, but it is something that comes as a result of markers. Most of us will exhibit it in some way. It's all about needing emotional support, and we need to do better in ourselves to make it go away.
I this episode I talk about the hows and why of the NPD person and their exploititive behaviour. As usual this episode is paired with a YouTube video you can find at https://youtu.be/eRcbrzoiZ90Dont forget you can support me on Patreon, and book one to one sessions at earlymorningbarking.com
An unclear or shifting sense of self is a problem faced by a lot of people with BPD, but it's not something that people without BPD ever think about. We're running on manual with our personality, and that means we sometimes make some wrong choices.
The sense of entitlement part of Narcissistic Personality Disorder is perhaps the most famous, and one of the most visible parts of NPD. We see it all over social media, and often use it as a basis for an accusation of being a narcissist. But is it possible to get over it? With the right help, can somebody suffering from NPD find a way to do away with their sense of entitement?
In this episiode I talk about the BPD marker of self destructive and impuslive behaviour. I also look at how I'm coping with those behaviours almost a year after ending therapy. Have I improved?Be sure to watch the original YouTube video that this episode is based on here - https://youtu.be/IhsN3MYsf48
One of the markers of NPD is arrogant behaviour. It permiates through everything we do, and just like most other NPD markers, it's a defence mechanism to protect us from our feelings of failure and inadequacy.I originally covered this topic on YouTube back in August of 2020 - https://youtu.be/JIC7ecUMGBE
One of the markers of BPD is Unstable Relationships. It's a very vague term that covers many destructive behavious that we display as people with BPD.I first talked about this topic in the YouTube video that you can find here - https://youtu.be/YZ2pYa5ETzc
14. Forgiveness

14. Forgiveness

This episode of the podcast actually covers several videos from my YouTube channel. The videos were originally published around the time I had my last major breakdown, and covered the breakdown, and my quest for forgiveness, from myself and others. The ability to forgive ourselves isn't something that comes easily. However, if we're to get better, we have to allow slipups from time to time. Visit http://earlymorningbarking.com to find links to all my content, including my YouTube channel.
In this episode I talk about the NPD marker of the need for excessive admiraition. Talking about the BPD marker of explosive anger. One of the nastier makers, to say the least. 11. My Best Advice

11. My Best Advice

2022-12-2008:59

This subject is taken from the Early Morning Barking video that you'll find here - https://youtu.be/N7HY-XEC-NIThe best advice I could give you is in this podcast. It's something that I've repeated as much as possible, and even put on a t-shirt - https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/112029300Living with BPD or any other personality disorder is a difficult thing at the best of times, and often, we're our own worst enemy. We act in anger, or panic, and we end up doing and saying things we'll later regret. Hopefully this advice will help you handle those situations a little better. For more discussion of BPD and NPD, check out the Early Morning Barking YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCecHZXozczzZ5FBSXismyQA
A common marker of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, is fantasies of power. It ties in with many other markers, such as lack of empathy. Of course, it makes for some terrible behaviour from the person suffering from NPD, but it's something that can be turned off with work.
For people suffering from BPD massive mood swings are often a problem. We can go from one extreme to the other in the blink of an eye, and it's usually towards the down side. It's all based around our black and white view of the world. Everything and everyone is either entirely good or entirely bad. That causes us to do what we call Splitting. When we move from one extreme to the other, in our opinion of something or someone. Be sure to follow youtube.com/earlymorningbarking for videos that explain everything to do with BPD and NPD.
For people with BPD, dissociation is a very common problem, which is difficult to put into words. It affects so many of us, but we all experience it differently. This episode of the podcast accompanies the original YouTube video which can be found at https://youtu.be/PioZ6nMfNMU
Two common NPD markers are a grandiose sense of self importance, and a feeling of being special and better than others. I take a look at how these markers are experienced, where they come from, and how that effects the mental health of the person with the personality disorder.
6. NPD and Projection

6. NPD and Projection

Projecting your feelings, emotions, motivations, and version of reality on to another person is a form of gaslighting, and very common for narcissists in relationships.
5. Suicidal Ideation

5. Suicidal Ideation

Suicidal ideation is, in my opinion, the lowest a human can feel. It's a feeling we need to stop as soon as we can before it destroys everything.
4. Fear of Abandonment

4. Fear of Abandonment

2022-01-1917:10

One of the more common markers of BPD is fear of abandonment. It's the one I hate the most, and one that I've still not managed to work my way through. As it happens, I'm in the thick of it at the time of recording.
3. NPD and Empathy

3. NPD and Empathy

2022-01-1120:02

I've come up with a new format for the podcast, so now it's just me talking, and doesn't include any of my old YouTube videos. I think that'll make the podcast easier to produce, so hopefully there'll be a new episode every week from now on.NPD and empathy are two things I thought I knew all about when I first made a video about them. Turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. Things have changed significantly over the last year and a half, and I now have a very different perspective on things.
