It’s time for Miss Twin Peaks to anoint its next Queen in Twin Peaks Episode 28, and your host John looks into director Tim Hunter and writer Barry Pullman’s style choices before analyzing the episode’s time wonkiness, Cooper’s intuition, and all the keys—physical or metaphorical. Find out what they unlock, and stick around for artifacts of Audrey being the Queen, and elements of Laura Palmer reintroduced into the narrative. 0:00:42 Intro0:04:05 Cancellation0:07:15 Lucy’s dance0:09:25 Saying “no” to Miss Twin Peaks0:11:27 Tim Hunter’s directorial choices0:15:18 Barry Pullman’s (sometimes unused) contributions0:19:07 Audience reaction0:20:50 Log Lady IntroductionWhat’s Going on With Dale Cooper and Time?0:25:50 Decompressed plot elements0:31:50 Cooper’s intuition0:41:00 Cooper and Annie0:46:50 Annie the queenWhy Is Windom Earle So Much Scarier Here?0:50:48 Pale skin, blacked-out teeth0:56:30 Less is more0:59:45 How other characters react to himJust How Many Levels of Keys Are We Dealing With?1:03:05 Leo1:04:49 The Major1:06:28 Annie1:07:30 Lana Milford1:10:50 The Packards and Pete1:12:30 Norma, Ed and Nadine1:14:50 Donna Hayward1:17:21 Donna and Ben Horne1:20:45 Ben and AudreyWhat Could Have Been with Audrey Horne?1:23:02 Audrey could have been queen1:26:00 Even with Annie, what if she was?How Is Laura Palmer Being Invoked?1:27:20 Via Annie1:29:15 Via Miss Twin PeaksProduction by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkwww.25yearslatersite.comInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

The Lodgespace gets real in Twin Peaks Episode 27 and your host John sorts through all the ramifications of when Jupiter and Saturn align. From Earle’s old Bluebook recording to Bobby realizing he’s been a jerk, there’s a lot of understanding coming to light here, but can Cooper see the Giant’s warning? Love can take you places—just ask Audrey—but what about the possibility that love may not be enough?Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkwww.25yearslatersite.comInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Twin Peaks Episode 25 brings us a good dose of romance, hangover cures, and Owl Cave. Twin Peaks returned from a hiatus with Episode 24, thanks in part to the fan-made organization known as COOP (Citizens Opposed to the Offing of Peaks), which your host John looks into. Much of the episode itself focuses on the depths Harry goes to when the extent of Josie’s crimes are revealed, And BRTF looks into his stages of grief and hypothesizes how Josie was only 65 lbs after dying from fear. We also look into Audrey and Cooper getting closer to their new love interests, a pine weasel attack, and the Major and Log Lady’s tattoos having some things to say about the supernatural. Not to mention the levels Earle goes to when he learns Cooper is getting help with the deadly chess game, illustrated by his visit to the Haywards.Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkwww.25yearslatersite.comInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Twin Peaks Episode 23 says goodbye to a number of original cast members, and your host John looks into the causes and the ramifications, both on the production side and in-universe with characters and lore. Your host looks at all the relationships ending—and beginning— and weighs in on John Justice Wheeler’s first appearance. But the big focus is on Josie, so the microscope comes out for how she got into her predicament, who helped put her there and why, and a handful of angles for how the Lodgespace denizens got involved.Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkwww.25yearslatersite.comInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Twin Peaks Episode 22 is either a breath of fresh air or an abomination to fans, and your host John sees both sides of the debate. He looks into the effects of it being directed by popular star Diane Keaton, and all her conspicuous camera tricks and internal points of view that won’t be seen again in the series (at least not until 2017). Windom Earle’s early shifting characterization goes under the microscope, as does the supernatural tone to Josie’s entrapment and Evelyn’s final scenes. Then John points out how Norma’s setting of boundaries begins to benefit her, then tracks how Ben finally surfaces back to reality.Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkwww.25yearslatersite.comInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Twin Peaks Episode 21 seems to manifest everyone’s strongest fears, most notably with Shelly Johnson’s life taking on all the tropes of a slasher movie, and not even Cooper’s intuition can avoid being clouded by his tragic past. Your host John looks into all of that, as well as Eckhardt and Earle’s arrivals, how empathy can turn devils into children, and help can come in the form of doctors, shrinks, and sometimes even Evelyn.Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.25yearslatersite.comwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Thank you for making 2021 a giant success for Blue Rose Task Force Podcast! Here’s a little something for under the tree: an audio version of the 25YL article Navigating Between Worlds: Understanding Twin Peaks Season 3. It contains—all in one place—you host John’s thoughts for how he sees layered reality being portrayed in Twin Peaks, and gives his evidence to make sense of it. We know this is just one reasonable interpretation among many, but we hope it helps you when interpreting your own journey through Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks Episode 20 says goodbye to Jean Renault with a stupendous monologue your host John explores for thematic and lore implications. Also, what changes did Lynch want director Todd Holland to make to the episode, and why? How do we parse all the sexuality used as a weapon this episode? What is Windom Earle’s relationship to electricity, and what does Major Briggs tell us about the lore of the White Lodge? The middle of Season 2 continues to have more richness than its reputation implies.Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.25yearslatersite.comwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Episode 19 of Twin Peaks is underway and storms are coming, but some characters are more prepared to weather them than others.Your host John discusses Ben Horne’s descent via feng shui into a delusion as a Civil War general, while also looking into the influence of Ken Burns’ The Civil War on the storyline. More delusion is under investigation with “may be the devil” Little Nicky and “she’s a witch” Lana, and James’ storyline is more on theme with Twin Peaks than it lets on. Has Nadine crossed a line beyond just healing? Is Cooper getting supernatural assistance with his suspension, or just help from Audrey? And how does it go for Bobby as he tries to connect to father figures?Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.25yearslatersite.comwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Denise Bryson arrives in Twin Peaks in Episode 19 along with genuine lore about the Lodges and your host John looks into the origins of both of them. Then it’s time to ask if we’re watching a new timeline, or which characters could be in a wonderful dream and which are in terrible nightmares. How is Denise’s portrayal handled? Is Nadine living her best life? Should Little Nicky maybe get a therapist instead of Dick and Andy? How much in common do Josie and Evelyn have? Is Cooper doing the right thing not looking at his suspension with fear? And can he say the same for how he listens to the voice of Windom Earle laying out his fate for the rest of the season?Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.25yearslatersite.comwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com

Twin Peaks changes course as the Who Killed Laura Palmer arc closes, and your host John looks into all the factors (network pressure, a push for shorter story arcs, a nixed Cooper/Audrey romance, among other things) to paint an explanation of how the new direction came to be. Then it’s time to ask: Just what did we miss in three missing days (and what we and the characters can’t understand without them)? What cycles are ending, and beginning? What signs of the supernatural can we still see just under the surface?Production by Mitch Proctor and Area 42 Studios and Soundwww.25yearslatersite.comwww.RuminationsRadioNetwork.comwww.instagram.com/RuminationsRadioNetworkInstagram: BlueRoseTaskForceTwitter: RuminationsRadioNetwork@RuminationsNTwitter: @BlueRoseTFpodhttps://www.patreon.com/RuminationsRadioEmail ruminationsradio@gmail.comEmail bluerosetaskforcepodcast@gmail.com
