Welcome to this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, where you'll find out what makes the new Jabra Perform 45 and unique, and more convenient alternative to using a standard walkie talkie. When you listen, you'll find out the details on its greater wireless range, a good idea as to how much it weighs (which isn't much),  how much battery life you'll get, and of course how much it costs because everyone wants to know that. And if you listen to the end, you'll get a couple of ideas on how you can score discounts. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, the Foundere and  CEO of Headset Advisor. If you work in a retail shop, or in a busy warehouse, chances are, there's  internal, two way communications taking  place. Odds are, that communication is being done through the use of a walkie talkie, or something similar to that. Even though walkie talkies have been used for decades, there are some downsides to using them. Among them include their single purpose design. They're not designed, for example, to be used with phone communications, only direct, two way communications. The other thing is they can be cumbersome to pack around. Some  walkie talkies are heavy, and  they can be misplaced easily. And if that weren't enough, they typically require you to hold it, which leaves only one hand free to do other things.  Fortunately, Jabra has come up with a very attractive alternative in the new Jabra Perform 45 headset.Rather than lugging a walkie talkie around, you can replace that with a tastefully designed, lightweight, great sounding headset. The Jabra Perform 45 weighs about the same as half the weight of a typical  household lightbulb. Or, the same as about three tablespoons of your favorite morning coffee. When you look at it in those terms, you have to agree, that's light, and being lightweight means a lot when it comes to wearing a headset. You can not only keep in touch with your coworkers at the press of a button, but you can walk and talk up to 300 feet. Other Bluetooth headsets stop at a maximum distance of 100 feet. More range means a wider footprint for you to move around your workspace. If you don't use two way communicatins, you can download the Jabra Direct software and the walkie button can be repurposed for other commonly used features such as speed dial, mute and more.We tested the microphone for voice sound quality, and noise reduction. It excelled in both areas. We tested its ability to remove noise against the sounds  of:Office noiseDogs barkingBabies cryingAnd our personal favorite, the noisy Vitamix blender testJabra states that the Perform 45 removes up to 80% of background  noise. Based on our tests, I'd agree. It did a great job to remove all the different noises we threw at it. Noise reduction aside, it also sounded very crisp, clear and professional. The microphone raises up to mute when you're on a call, and it turns off coworker two way chatter when you're needing to help someone face-to-face, which Jabra calls Face2Face mode.In terms of talk time, you get 8 hours of battery life when using the Perform  45 for business call, and up to 20 hours for your two way communications. Recharging the battery takes about 140 minutes. The price is very agreeable for the quality of this product at $149.99. But, if you'd like to get a discount, make sure to use coupon code BLOG when checking out on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.comIf you're  looking for a quantity of headsets, make sure to contact us for bulk pricing.
In this episode of the Headset Advisor  Tech  Review Podcast,  I'll be introducing you to a brand new pair of  earbuds by one of the  most celebrated headset manufacturers, Jabra. Yeah, those guys,  the guys who  make awesome headsets for work  and play, with these new earbuds being the most recent product release.Have a listen to find  out if these earbuds sound good, are comfort and give good noise reduction.  You'll also find out about features on these earbuds that aren't  common to others such as Apple Airpods. So make sure to listen to the entire episode for all the details. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, the  Founder, and  CEO of Headset Advisor. Many people either don't  want to wear traditional headsets, or they can't.  Some feel  it makes them look like they're taking orders at the local drive through, while others tend to get migraine headaches from wearing anything over the head.Whatever the reason, many want an alternative wearing style, and that's where earbud style headsets come in.Using earbuds for business calls  isn't the greatest of all  headset choices because they're  typically lacking in several ways when it comes to using them in business.First, the sound quality on some earbuds aren't good  enough to use on important calls. They also lack a battery that  lasts long enough to get many people through a demanding work day, and then there's the common problem of not removing background noise. Who wants their callers  hearing dogs barking, babies crying or coworkers celebrating? Not me.So how do these new  Jabra Evolve2 Earbuds show up to save the day? Let's find out.First, these earbuds sound very good. Good enough  to use on business calls?  In  my opinion, they do. As good as a typical boom microphone headset? Well, I'm not going that far,  but as earbuds go, these are top notch. The Evolve2 earbuds give you get 8 hours of talk  time, and with the portable charger, that talk time extends to 33 hours. You can use both earbuds, or just the right or left. And, when one earbud is idle, it can get recharged, and later swapped out with the one in use, which gives you unlimited talk time. Then there's the question that  haunts all earbuds; background noise reduction. So how do these earbuds do to remove noise? The simple answer is not that great. We tested them against the sounds of office noise, dogs barking, babies crying, and of  course our signature blender test.  Basicallly, it didn't reduce any of it. But  to be fair, Jabra never designed these earbuds to be noise killers. So,  if these earbuds capture your interest, keep in mind the environment they'll be used in.Active Noise  Cancellation (or ANC for short), and HearThrough are both standard features on these earbuds. These features aren't commonly found  on earbuds, so it's nice they're included.ANC allows the earbud wearer to not be distracted by room noise because there's a button to help surpress it. You stay focused,  not distracted, and more productive.HearThrough eliminates the need to remove the earbuds anytime you want to have a face-to-face conversation with someone. No more removing, and returning the headset every time you're interrupted. Less hassle, and less frustration.Use coupon code BLOG to get a nice discount on your order. Trade in your old headset to save even more. And for those who have budget challenges, we have a very affordable monthly headset lease program with headsets starting at just $2.00 per month.Reach out to us here to learn more, or get a tailored headset recommendation.
In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, find out which headset rose to the top of my list for the best work from home headset 2022.Anyone who works from home, understands that there are unique challenges that come along with that. Everything from the sounds of babies crying, dogs barking, doorbells, landscapers all contribute towards making this a challenging place to work. Listen to find out what makes my number one pick the best of the best in 2022, and why this is one headset you really need to be using. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder, and CEO of Headset Advisor. So, you work from home, and you have a family canine, and kids too. That, as we know, creates noise challenges and demands for your attention and a lot more. Having the right tools can help you to deal with these things, and one of those tools is a good quality, great sounding headset. Here's the headset that I feel is number one among all the availabe choices out there; the Orosound  Tilde Pro.So what makes this headset any better compared to some of the more brand recognizable models? Here's why I think it's worthy of the top spot.1. Sound quality. This headset sounds noticeably better than just about any other headset we've tested to date. And, I have to say, we test a lot of headsets. So if having a headset that gives your callers a nice, deep, rich sound that's better than the rest, then the Orosound Tilde Pro is the headset for you.2. Noise Reduction. Let's be honest here, working from home can be a real  challenge when it comes to dealing with all  those different sounds going on in the background. The Tilde Pro does a superb job at filtering out unwanted noise. That gives your callers a better audio experience, and keeps them focused on the conversation,  and not the noise going on around you.3. Active Noise Cancellation.  This is a newer feature not found on all headsets. This is an electronic anti-noise feature that counteracts background sounds. The purpose of this feature is to allow you, the headset wearer, the ability to not be distracted by the sounds going on  around you. And, when you're  not distracted, you get more done.4. VoiceFirst. This feature allows you to have a face-to-face conversation  with someone while wearing the headset, and not have to remove it to do so. Removing a headset, and placing it back on repeatededly throughout the day can get irritating. This feature eliminates the frustration.5. Battery. You get 28 hours of talk  time, and 50% charge in 30 minutes. You can even continue using the Tilde Pro when it's plugged in for a recharge. That's someone most headsets can't claim.6. Modularity. The microphone can be used, or not because it's magnetically attached. It's easy to remove and attach. for business calls, use the boom mic, but for entertainment, remove it for listening, but there are several built in mics so you can still have a conversation if the boom mic is stored away. You also have the choice of oversize ear cushions, or those that go against the ear. Your choice in either case.7. Warranty. The Tilde Pro comes with a whopping 3-year warranty. That's one to two years longer than other brands. Longer warranty means longer peace of mind.To save money on a new Orosound Tilde Pro, use coupon  code  BLOG when checking out on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com. In this episode you'll find out about a new wired USB headset by Jabra. You'll find out what makes this headset among the very best for those who rely on a headset throughout the workday.Like many things, not all headsets are the same. In this episode you'll learn what makes this new headset worth your time to check out. You'll also find out how you can save some serious money if you plan on buying one. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor. If you spend a large amount of  time on the phone and you use a headset,  you can appreciate a headset that's lightweight and comfortable, and one that gives you superb sound quality. Not all headsets available today can deliver in these categories:ComfortGreat voice audio qualityExcellent background noise reductionGreat voice quality, when background noise is presentWhen you read descriptive information about different headsets, you'll typically come across something that states how good the headset sounds, and it's ability to remove noise. But, just because that's  something that's said, that doesn't mean it's entirely true. After all, sound quality is a bit subjective, though the degree to which a headset can remove background noise is pretty easy to determine. The new Jabra Engage 40 is a wired, USB headset that comes in these configurations;- single ear, without an inline controller- single ear, with a controller- double ear without controller- double ear with an inline controllerYou can also get these headsets that are optimized for Microsoft Teams, or the standard UC version. So what makes the new Jabra Engage 40 a must have headset? To me, it's two key things; Weight Sound quality & noise reductionThis thing weighs only 2 ounces in the mono configuration, the same as two standard sized envelopes. So if you can imagine the weight of two of these envelopes resting on the  top of your head, you'll get a sense of appreciation of just how light this headset is.So why does that matter?  Well, if you wear a headset all day, such as an Agent in a busy Contact Center, then how much a headset weighs is very important.  So my main point number one is weight, because this thing is light. The second point is sound quality. The Jabra Engage 40 sounds fantastic. It clearly sounds every bit as good than any business grade headset, at any price point.  And that's  saying something really.Next is noise reduction. We put it up against office sounds, dogs barking, and our signature blender test. It  passed with flying colors in all  of these tests. It did a superb job at removing those noises. So, if you work from home, or in a busy office with noisy coworkers, then the Engage 40 would be a great headset for you  to consider if you don't want your callers hearing all the noise around you.Your voice quality remains solid even when noise is present. That's somethng many headsets can't make claim to. Another example of superior audio with the Engage 40.In terms of pricing, it varies by model from $179.00, to $239.00. But, if you want a better price, make sure to use coupon code  BLOG when checking out on our website which is www.headsetadvisor.com.You can save more if you trade in your old headsets. We also offer a very affordable monthly headset lease program with headsets starting at just $2.00 per month, and it includes replacement accessories, and a warranty that doesn't expire. So, to learn more about any of our programs, to get answers to your questions, or to receive a tailored, compatible product solution contact us here.
Have a listen to this Podcast to learn about how two highly popular Jabra Bluetooth headsets compare; the Jabra Evolve2 65 vs. the Evolve2 75. There are differences that go beyond the price, so have a listen to find out what they have in common, and what  makes them different. And if you listen to the entire episode, you'll get some tips on how you can save money when purchasing either, or both of these models. Even if your budget is tight, I let you know of a way that can allow you to provide new headsets to your team for far less than you can imagine. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.Bluetooth headsets are very popular in part due to the increased use of computers for carrying out our daily business communications. We've all heard of applications like Microsoft Teams,  Zoom,  RingCentral, Cisco WebEx, Google Meet and the list  goes on. One thing in  common with all of these applications is headsets are typically used. So, when you want to communicate with coworkers or customers, having a great sounding, comfortable, reliable  headset is highly important. And that's where the Evolve2 65, and Evolve2 75 comes in.Battery. Battery strength can be broken down into these categories; talk time, listening time and recharge time. So, let's take a quick look at that.Evolve2 65 Listening time: Up to 37 hoursEvolve2 75 Listening time: Up to 36 hours (w/o ANC on) 33 hours if ANC is onEvolve2 65 35 hours talk time (w/o busy light on), 24 if onEvolve2 75  24 hours (w/o busy light on), 18 if onTo Recharge: Evolve2 65 takes 90 minutes. The Evolve2 75 takes 160 minutes30 minutes on the charger gives the Evolve2 65 40% charge. After 35 minutes on the charger the Evolve2 75 gives you only 30%. After an hour on  the charger, the 65 gives you 80%, and after an hour and 10 minutes, the 75 gives you 60%. (Advantage Evolve2 65)By the way, both headsets allow you to continue using them even when they're plugged in for recharging. This is something that you don't find on all headsets.Microphones. The Evolve2 65 has three digital MEMS noise canceling mics, whereas the 75 has 8 (4 digital, 4 analog). Four of the mics are used for the Active Noise  Cancelation  feature, and HearThrough that's found on the Evolve2 75, but not on  the 65. The bottom line when it comes to mics though is sound quality; how they sound, and how well they reduce unwanted noise. Sound quality is subjective, but I prefer the sound and noise reduction on the Evolve2 65.ANC/HearThrough. These are features found on the 75, and not on  the 65. Active noise  cancelation allows the person wearing the headset to not be distracted by background noise. ANC is an "anti-noise" feature that allows you to stay focused. HearThrough lets you keep the headset on when you want to have a face to face conversation. No need to take it off.Speakers. Both headsets share the same 40mm speakers. For business grade headsets, they both sound very good. Not Bose or Sony level, but superb for a business oriented headset.Wireless range. Both headsets are rated up to 30 meters/100 feet. Standard for Bluetooth headsetes these days.Weight. The mono 65 is in the 3 ounce category, whereas the duo headsets (65 & 75) are in the 6. Standard weight for these kinds of headsets.Price. Evolve 2 65 mono: $263.00, duo: $274.00. Evolve2 75 duo:  $384.002 year warrantyUse coupon code BLOG to get a better price.  Trade in old headsets to save even more. In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, you'll find out about a very affordable, wired USB headset, that sounds great, is comfortable, and gives you the ability to activate sidetone with the press of a button. No download required, so your IT Department will like that.If you listen to the entire episode, you'll find out the make and model, and you'll also find out how you can save some money on this already affordable USB headset. This is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.Sidetone is a feature that a lot of people want in a headset. That's because it allows you to hear your voice enabling you to regulate speech volume. If you can't hear yourself,  it's hard to know how loud to talk. The headset in today's episode has the helpful feature of sidetone. So what headset am I referring to? It's the Discover D722U. And yes, it does have sidetone. That makes it a bit unique because most headsets don't offer that feature in a button pressiing form. Instead, they require you to download software to access it. And that's where you could have a problem. Many companies don't allow its employees to download software. That's simply due to security concerns about bringing viruses and other electronic threats into the company IT ecosystem. The good news with the Discover D722U is there's no download required.  Besides sidetone, here are some other things that make this a headset you should consider.1. Sound quality. The D722U has a very professional sounding microphone. Something that's important when you're talking on business calls. Your callers won't struggle to hear you,  because you'll be coming across loud and clear.2. Noise reduction. Nobody wants callers to hear distracting noise going on in the background. This could be the sounds of kids, or dogs if you work at home, or noisy coworkers, road noise, or the sounds of your typical coffee shop. Wherever you work, and whatever your noise challenges, the  Discover D722U will do a good job at removing noise so your callers will stay focused on the content of your call, and not those sounds going on around you.3. Comfort. This is a lightweight, comfortable headset. It may look bulky, but don't let the look fool you. It's constructed of high impact, lightweight materials which help to make it comfortable for all day use. Add to that, it comes with cooling gel, memory foam ear cushions that help to keep your ears from heating up.4. Built in speaker. Some computers don't come with speakers. The D722U inline controller has one built in. So you can hear your incoming softphone calls, or just listen to some music while you work.5. Warranty. Many headsets come with a 1-year warranty, and others offer a 2. The D722U comes with a full 3-year warranty. That means longer peace of mind, and you avoid the costs of repairs and replacements.  So when those other headset warranties drop off, and leave you exposed, the  D722U keeps you covered.6. Price. This headset is priced under $100.00, which makes it a great value when you consider everythng it offers; comfort, great sound quality, sidetone, a longer warranty and a built in speaker. But if you want a better price, make sure to use coupon code  BLOG when shopping on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com Trade in your old headsets to save even more. And, we have a very affordable headset lease program with headsets starting at just $2.00 per month. In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, you'll find out about a new update  on the highly popular Poly/Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC Bluetooth headset. A great headset just got a little bit better, so make sure to listen to the entire, short episode to get all the details. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder, and  CEO of Headset Advisor. The Poly Voyager 5200 UC Bluetooth headset is maybe the most popular Bluetooth headset here in the U.S. and around the world. It's an iconic design, and it's lightweight and comfortable, not to mention it sounds great. So what did Poly (you know, Plantronics) do to make this great headset, even better?First, for those who don't know, Plantronics has a new name; Poly. This is the name that came from the merger between two heavyweights in their respective industries; Plantronics, and Polycom. They merged into one company that's now called Poly.Back to the Voyager 5200 UC.The new update on this headset involves the BT700 USB adapter because its been updated, and enhanced. It now gives you a better, more stable wireless connection, better sound quality and longer wireless range. And for anyone who's familiar with this headset, or uses one, those three things are helpful. After all, who doesn't want a more reliable signal, better sound quality and  longer wireless range? The battery life hasn't changed from the previous version at 7 hours. The charging case gives you the ability to recharge the headset battery twice wherever you might be. This means that you can get up to 21 hours of talk time from  the initial charge, and the two subsequent charges while you're out and about. The buttons have remained the same  as well, with the mute, volume up, and down, call control, and power on/off.You can recharge the battery two ways:You can use the included Micro to USB charge cableOr, you can drop the headset into the charge case for a recharge. The microphone on the Voyager 5200 UC sounds very professional. It removes noise pretty well, though I'd like to see it do a slightly better job. Still, it does a solid job. And speaking of reducing noise, the 5200 keeps you sounding clear when there's noise going on in the background. As surprising as it might sound, a lot of headsets can't do that. They may reduce noise fairly well, but when they do, your voice quality suffers. You won't  get that with the Voyager 5200 UC. The 5200 UC is compatible with all the leading UC platforms  such as Microsoft Teams, RingCentral, Zoom and others, and you can take calls when you're away from your desk thanks to its compatibility, and remote call answering feature. You can avoid voice messages and returning calls because you're accessible up to the headset's wireless range. So if you like the Voyager 5200, you'll like the new version even more. More range, better sound quality, and a more stable connection. There's  alot to like  about the Poly Voyager 5200 UC, and now you have three new reasons  to like it even more.Make sure to use coupon code BLOG when shopping on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com  When you do, you'll get a nice discount on your order. In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, you'll find out what to look for in a headset microphone when you're shopping around for new headsets. Because the truth is, they don't all sound  the same,  and they don't  all  give you what you need for use in business. So have a  listen, to find out the three most  important  things to look for in a headset microphone if you want to sound your best, and give your callers the best possible sound quality experience. This  episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of  Headset  Advisor.Any headset that you might consider for business use varies. They vary in a number of ways, and one of those ways is in  how it sounds. And you have to agree, that when you use a headset for buisness,  sound matters. That's because you're either conveying information, or you're selling something, and in the process, you want your message to be heard. And that can't happen if the headset you're using isn't up to the task.Headset microphones should be evaluated in three key areas; How well you sound when you're talking on a headset How well the headset microphone removes background noise. And often overlooked, but highly important  is  how you sound when the microphone is working to remove noise. In other words, how you sound when there's  noise  going on around you.Headsets come in all sizes and shapes, and for that matter, different price points  too. Sound quality doesn't always mirror pricing which means just because you pay a lot, or a little for a headset, the sound you'll get is unpredicatable. We've tested some inexpensive headsets that do a good job at these three key areas. We've also tested headsets that cost a lot more, that are average at best in sound quality. So how do you know what you'll get when you make a decision to buy a new headset for you, or your team? You can't go by name brands only, becasue as I mentioned, some fall short, even name brand products. With nearly 30 years of headset experience, it would be my advice for you to try a headset in your place of work before deciding to buy it. Then, and only then will you really know how it will perform in your specfic workplace. You could consult with others in your industry, or you could read reviews, but there's  really no substitute for first hand knowledge that can only be obtained by sampling live in your environment. And if your vendor won't provide you with a  headset to evaluate, then I'd suggest that you find yourself a new vendor to work with. You want to sound crisp and clear on your calls, and that underscores the need for a great sounding headset microphone. You don't want  your callers  hearing all that noise going on around you either. Whether you work from home, in an office, on the road, or at the local coffee shop, you have noise  to content  with. When your callers  hear that noise, they get distracted, which takes them away from hearing your message clearly.Believe it or not, many headsets struggle to keep you sounding clear when there's  background noise. That's  something you want to test before buying any headset. Some headsets have you sounding choppy or garbled when there's  noise. Not the sound quality you need when on business calls. If you have questions, or need some  help, reach out to us at www.headsetadvisorcom. And if you're looking for headsets, make  sure to use coupon code  BLOG at checkout for a nice discount. We have bulk pricing available, a trade in program,  and even a headset lease plan that includes accessories, and a warranty that doesn't  expire. Headsets start at just $2.00 per month.
In this episode you'll learn about a Bluetooth wireless headset that's perfect for all your Zoom voice and video calls. Listen in to find out what makes this headset better than others so you'll always sound your best when on your calls. You'll also find out about a discount you can use if you buy one of these headsets, and you'll also find out about a unique purchasing program only available through Headset Advisor. So make sure to listen to the entire episode so you get all the details. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor. For a business to achieve name recognition to the level that pretty much everybody knows it, is not an easy task. But that's exactly what Zoom has accomplished. Zoom  went from a fairly recognizable name, to one that's achieved household name recognition status.  We all know about being on a "Zoom call" and what that means. But when you're on those calls, what is the best device to use so you're heard loud, clear and professionally?  How about the microphone and speakers that you find in any of the Laptops? Probably not your best option. Well, how about using a usb speakerphone? Better, but is it best? Not really.  You could always get one of those cheap plug in goose neck mics, but that would put you in the lower rungs of the microphone food chain. So what's best? A high quality wireless headset.I'm not referring to just any headset, I'm referring to a good one because you want to sound good on all your calls. Here's the headset for you.The Orosound Tilde ProIt gives you voice quality that's far superior to just about any other headset available. And the noise reducing microphone eliminates unwanted background noise so your callers will hear you, and not the sounds going on around you.You get a battery that gives you 28 hours of talk time so you won't need to charge this headset every day. In fact, you may only need to charge it once a week. And when you're recharging, you can use the headset, where others will keep you waiting. The Tilde Pro comes with a feature called Active Noise Cancelation, or ANC for short. ANC is designed to give the person wearing the headset control over the amount of noise they hear. You have 10 stages of noise control, so you can dial it up, or down, depending on how much you want to hear so you can keep focused on your work. The Voice First feature allows you to have a face to face conversation, without the need to remove the headset. It can become very frustrating to keep taking off the headset throughout the day, but with Voice  First, you just press a button to have a conversation. The excellent noise canceling microphone is magnetically attached. You can use it, or remove it at will. It removes simply, and reattaches easy as well. So when on important calls, use the boom mic for the best sound quality. Then, when listening to music, remove it for a headphones look. The ear cushions are interchangeable between those that go against the ear, and those that fully surround the ear. Either way, you get to choose the ones that are right for you. And the sound quality of the ear speakers are first rate. Truthfully, they sound extremely good, and though not to the level of Bose, for a business headset, the Tilde Pro sounds incredible. The Tilde Pro also comes with a  USB Adapter so you won't need to connect to your computer via Bluetooth, which can be unstable, and give you compromised sound quality. The USB adapter gives you a better connection, and better sound for use on all your Zoom calls.Use coupon code BLOG to get a nice discount on your order when shopping on our website which is www.headsetadvisor.com. Trade in old headsets to save even more. And if the budget is tight, ask about our headset lease program.
In this  episode  of the Headset  Advisor Tech Review  Podcast, you'll learn about a wireless headset that's perfect for use in a Contact Center. You'll find out what this headset can do that others cannot, and why that unique ability is helpful to Agents, and  to Center Managers too. It's  not often that you come across a headset that breaks out of  the tradional mold, but  this is  one wireless headset that does. So  make sure to  listen to the entire episode so you can find out what set this headset apart from all the others. This  episode is narrated by the Founder and CEO of Headset  Advisor, Doug MerrittEvery once in awhile something new comes along that breaks out of the mold or ordinary, or traditional.  In this Podcast, you'll find out about one such product in the Discover Adapt 30 Bluetooth wireless headset, and what makes it a headset like no other.Let's start with how this headset can be worn. As you know, when you select a headset, that's the wearing style you get unless you pay to replace it for another. The Discover Adapt 30 can be worn over the head covering one ear, or, you can change it over to a dual ear wearing style. That's because this headset is modular, and it comes with both headbands. And worth noting is the dual headband contains two live,  active ear speakers, and not one that shares sound from one  live speaker to a second, dead one. So, you get true binaural sound.Having this flexibility is useful because sometimes you want to hear what's going on around you, in  which case, you'd snap on the single ear headband. But, for those times when things get noisy which makes it hard to concentrate (and places a drag on worker productivity), then remove the single ear headband, and snap on the double ear band. You'll hear less of your background noise, concentrate better, and get more  done in the process. There are other things that make this a nice headset to consider for use in a Contact Center. The microphone is professional grade which means you'll sound professional on calls, and the noise canceling microphone will help eliminate unwanted background noise. So your callers won't struggle to hear you.It comes with a USB adapter for use with the leading UC applications, and it gives you a better, steadier wireless connection compared to connecting via Bluetooth. It comes with an industry leading 3-year warranty too. And before you dismiss this as inconsequential, consider that you'll be protected for a longer period of time against anything that might happen to the headset. This means that when the other brands warranty drops off, leaving you exposed to unexpected costs, the Adapt 30 keeps you covered, and protected against the costs of replacements or repairs. So you have longer peace of mind, and you save money too.And if you'd like  to save money on the Discover Adapt 30, make sure to use coupon code BLOG when shopping on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com. And if it's several that you need, we do have bulk pricing. Even if your budget is tight, you can still get the Discover Adapt 30 for your Contact Center, because we have an affordable headset lease program. Headsets start at just $2.00 per month, and that low monthly rate even includes replacement accessories, and your warranty never expires. In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast,  you'll find out about a brand new software applicatiion designed specifically for the contact center. This  software is Ai based, and provides immediate Agent feedback on tone and other measurements to assist the Agent in providing optimum customer service. Supervisors and Managers will love this software too because it provides a lot of data ponts to help better manage Agents, and it even gives feedback on customer impressions. This is a short Podcast, so make sure to listen to the entire episode so you don't miss any of the important details. This is software like you've not seen before, and could be a game changer for many who work, and manage in the Contact Center space. This episode is narrated by the Founder, and CEO of Headset Advisor, Doug MerrittMost of us have heard the saying; "it's not what you said, it's how you said it"This saying refers to the tone of voice used when saying something. Depending on that tone, it could easily, and completely, change the message from what you might be wanting to convey. So the truth is, our tone really matters. This new Jabra software, called Engage Ai, is software that monitors conversations for the tone being used. It also is able to monitor the pace of a call, its length, and it even tracks the frequency of interruptions.  All these things are designed to provide feedback to the Agent,  and to Management so that corrective action can be taken. The Agent has a dashboard, and they can select their own Avatar. When on a call, the Agent will see their Avatar, and in the same area, the Agent will see their numeric score which is based on their tone of voice. An  unhappy looking Avatar for example, follows a low score. As the tone of voice improves, the facial expressions of the Avatar improves too.The customer is also monitored for tone of voice which is a reaction to the kind of tone they're hearing from the Agent. Information on the customers experience is helpful to Management to see where training is required for example. You can use this headset with most of the leading contact center, and UC platforms, and you can use it with any brand of wired or wireless headset. However, Jabra recommends using it with the Engage 40, and Engage 50 II models because they were designed and built for use with this software which means you'll get better data points when  using these models. From a security perspective, it's important to note that this software only monitors tone  of voice, pace of calls, pauses and interruptions, and it's encrypted end to end. Finally, the Engage Ai software is GDPR compliant. So if you're tired of not getting your callers filling out the end of call surveys, why not let the Engage Ai software collect that information for you automatically? And to see real time numbers on Agent performance which is reflective of the manner they're communicating with customers, then look no further than the new Jabra Engage  Ai sentiment analysis software. You can get a free trial by reaching out to us here at Headset Advisor. One of our helpful Advisors located in Northern California  will be happy to help. And if we can help with any of your other questions,  we'll be happy to help with that  too.And if you purchase headsets on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com, make sure to use coupon code BLOG for your best deal. Trade in old headsets to lower your price even further.  And if you're looking for several headsets, we have a bulk discount price for you,  and a very affordable monthly headset lease program you might want to consider.
In this episode of the Hedset Advisor  Tech Review  Podcast, you'll find out the details  on a brand new, very small, portable speakerphone by Audeze. Audeze is more known for producing high quality gaming  products, but this  speakerphone represents  their entry into the business products space.Find out how the speakers, and microphone sounds, as well as whether or not  it can reduce background noise well. And getting to the bottom line, whether or not  this is a device you can confidently use on your important business calls. So have a listen to find out the details, and you'll also find out how much it costs, and a way to get a better price. This isn't a speakerphone like all the others.  Listen to find out how it's different. This episode is narrated by the Founder, and CEO of  Headset Advisor, Doug MerrittEvery now and then something new comes along that's different from other products in its class. In this Podcast you'll get introduced to one of those mold breaking products in the new Audeze Filter Bluetooth speakerphone. So what makes this any different from those  that have come before it?  Fair question to be sure, and one that deserves clarity.I'd say the differentiation is in these categories:SpeakersMicrophoneConnectivitySizeStarting with speakers. The speakers on the  Audeze Filter aren't designed to give you great fidelity when listening to music.  You might be scratching your head right about now. But, I do have to say that the Audeze is specifically designed to give you impressive clarity of speech, even at high volume levels. A lot of audio devices tend to distort at higher volume settings, but that isn't what you'll get with this speakerphone. The spoken  word is meant to be heard on this device at any volume setting, which is good if hearing the details of your callers is important.Secondly, is the microphone. This Ai noise canceling microphone was trained to recognize, and eliminate 500,000 different sounds. So whether you have noisy coworkers, or a chirpy favorite family pet, chances are high that the  Audeze will remove those sounds. You can also select narrow, medium or wide microphone coverage. When working alone, set it for narrow so all the microphone resources are aimed at you. Add others to your call, and the mic coverage area would need to be widened. This keeps your call  participants being heard, while  sounds outside of  that area, not heard. You choose, and you select your field of coverage from 70 to 360 degrees. In terms of connectivity, this thing connects to just about everything, and it can do so wirelessly via Bluetooth, you can plug in the USB C cable that's  included. Even if your computer uses USB  A ports, the Audeze comes  with a USB C  to USB A adapter. So either way, you're covered. It works  with Android or iPhones, Windows or MacOS, and all the leading UC platforms like Teams,  Zoom, RingCentral, WebEx, Meet and more. And the size is shockingly small.  When compared to an iPhone, it's about the exact size which makes it by speakerphone standards, very small. That means  you can easily pop it into a pocket, or purse for easy mobility. Bring it to the office, use it aat home, or even on the  go. However you work, this device is by your side ready to get going. The price of theAudeze Filter is $249.00. But, if you'd like  a better price, and who doesn't, then make  sure to use  coupon code BLOG when checking out on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com
In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, you'll find out what the big difference is between the Bose 700, and the Bose 700 UC headphones.Though these two headphones share the same basic name,  there is a key difference between them. In this short episode,  you'll  find out what that is, and more  importantly, what benefits come with it.This is a short listen, at under 7 minutes, so make sure to listen to the entire episode. And if you happen to be interested in a Bose 700, then make sure to use coupon code BLOG when checking out on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com. When you use that coupon code, you'll get a nice discount on  your Bose Premium headset order. And if you have old headsets laying around, trade those in to save even more.{This  episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.}Bose is one of those names that enjoys a lot of positive name recognition. Most of us have heard of the brand, and for those that have, we normally think of things like:Premium audioHigh qualityAnd of course, price will find its way into our minds as wellThe Bose 700 is a Bluetooth headset that can be used with computers, and mobile devices.  Computers need to be Bluetooth enabled in order to connect to it. That is, until the Bose 700 UC came  out. That's because the  Bose 700 UC comes with a pre-paired USB Adapter/Dongle.This included USB Adapter is the single difference between these two models. The 700 relies on Bluetooth to connect, and the 700 UC gives you the choice of Bluetooth or USB.So what's the  big deal about the USB Adapter?Your computer doesn't  need to be Bluetooth enabledYou get a more steady,  reliable connectionAnd, you get remote call answering with compatible UC ApplicationsConnecting to a computer via Bluetooth is universally known to be problematic. Problematic in the sense that the connection can be spotty, and even disconnect while on calls.Wireless  range is less than those headsets that  use a USB Adapter. So, if you'd  like a better connection, and longer wireless range, then the USB adapter is the way to go.That takes me to remote call control.  If you're  not familiar with this term, it's simply the ability to take a call using your headset when away from the desk. The Bose 700 can't do this, but the Bose 700 UC can when using Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom. When you step away from your desk  and you get an incoming call, you'll  hear a  quiet beep tone in the headphone ear speakers. This is  to alert you of an  incoming call. Tape the right ear cup to take the call, and tap it again to end it. No more racing back to your desk to catch a call, and no more voice messages to listen to or calls to return. You're more productive, and your callers get better service. And worth noting here is for those who use the Bose 700, the USB Adapter can be purchased separately. So if you'd like the benefits that the USB Adapter offers, then for a modest investment, you can take advantage of those.Make sure to use coupon code BLOG when shopping, and checking out on  our webiste;  www.headsetadvisor.com
Listen to this episode of the Headset Advisor  Tech Review Podcast to find out how three highly popular Jabra headsets compare; the Jabra Evolve2 65, the tried and true Evolve 75, and the beefy Jabra Evolve2 85.  Find  out what they have in  common, and what makes them different.Make sure to use coupon code BLOG when shopping on our website which is www.headsetadvisor.comThis episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor. If you use headsets, or if you're someone who's responsible for buying them, then you probably know the Jabra name. Jabra headsets are used around the world, and the brand has a loyal following.  So how do these three headsets compare? Let's take a quick look.Wireless range. All three models are rated up to 100 feet. This is pretty standard among Bluetooth headsets.Battery life. The Evolve2 65, and 85 models offer uup to 37 hours of battery life, whereas the Evolve 75 gives you up to 18.  No doubt the newer models are benefiting from advances in battery technology.Weight. The Evolve2 65 weighs 6.2 ounces as does the Evolve 75. But, the Evolve2 85 hasn't been dieting lately because it tips the scales at 10 ounces. That's considered heavy by headset standards. Though advances in headset design does allow heavier headsets to feel lighter.Busy light. All three have busy lights, but the 65, and 85 models have lights that can be seen from any viewing angle. That gives them an advantage of the 75.Ear speakers. All three use 40mm ear speakers. This could mean they all sound pretty much the same, and they might. But, sound quality is subjective so when listening to all three you could find that you have a preference for one over the others.Active Noise Cancellation. This is a relatively new business headset feature, and it's  designed to give the headset wearer the ability to reduce ambient room noise. The Evolve2 65 doesn't have this feature, though the Evolve 75, and Evolve2 85 do. The Evolve2 75 is the first model up the line that offers it.Bluetooth version. The Evolve 75 uses Bluetooth version 4.2, whereas the Evolve2 65 and 85 use version 5.0. 5.0 is designed to provide faster data transmission speeds, longer wireless range, and lower power consumption.Microphone. The Evolve2 65 uses a 3 MEMS mic array that's noise canceling. The Evolve 75 uses a noise canceling uni-directional mic, and the Evolve2 85 uses a whopping 10 MEMS  digital noise canceling mic array. And while on that particular mic, it can be swung upwards, and out of site where it stores away in the body of the ear speaker housing. When you pull it down, it unmutes.Connectivity. All three connect to computers and mobile devices, and they all come with USB adapters (dongles), and allow for connecting up to 8 devices.Color choice. The Evolve2 65, and the Evolve2 85 allow you to choose between black, and beigs where the Evolve 75 comes in one color only, black. So, if you want to express your individuality or non comformist tendencies, then the 65 or 85 could be a great choice.Make sure to use coupon code BLOG when checking out on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com for a nice discount. Trade in old headsets to save even more. And if the budget is tight, ask us about our very affordable monthly headset lease program. In this episode of the Headset  Advisor Tech Review Podcast,  you'll find out about three excellent wireless headsets that can now be used with many models of Cisco, Avaya,  Polycom, Grandstream and Fanvil desk  phones. And before you think that all wireless headsets are  pretty much the same,  these give you some  things you can't get on  any other wireless headsets. Listen to the full episode to learn more, and  to get some tips on how you can save big  on buying any of these Yealink  models. This  episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor. So you think all headsets are pretty much the same.  Well,  you might want to rethink that especially when it comes to wireless headsets used for your Cisco, Avaya, Polycom, Grandstream,  and Fanvil  phones. That's  because there are now three models of wireless headsets that can now be used on certain models of those brands of phones. So what's the big deal you ask? Well, here are a few things to consider if you happen  to be looking for new headsets.Longest wireless range. And when I say longest, I mean longer than any other headset make or model  that we've ever tested. Flat out, these headsets have some crazy wireless range. In our tests, when others started cutting out,  and eventually quit, the Yealink headsets, like the Energizer Bunny, just kept  going, and  going, and going. So if you want a wireless headset that can give you a wider footprint, end your search right now by getting one of these models:Yealink  WH62 MonoYealink WH62 DuoYealink  WH63 ConvertibleUse coupon code BLOG to get a nice discount on your order when you shop on our website which is  www.headsetadvisor.com Trade in your old headsets to save even more.Whether you like wearing a headset over  your head, or on the ear,  or even behind the neck, there's  a Yealink  headset to match your wearing preference. So what else  besides the longest wireless range makes these headsets any better than the rest of the pack? How about some crazy noise cancellation?  Nobody wants to be on a call  and hear a bunch of noise  going on in the background. It's simply distractive, and can be counter productive for sure.  Yes,  many headsets have noise cancelling microphones, but you'll be searching far and wide  to find one that kills background noise as well as these do. We know, because we tested them, and they do a superb job surpressing unwanted room noise. And when the headset is eliminating all that noise,it does another thing that  other headsets struggle with, and that's to keep you sounding really good  while the microphone is working in  the background to remove  that noise. Some  headsets do a pretty good job  at reducing noise,  but are unable to keep you soundiing sharp and clear at the same  time.Price matters. Yealink  headsets are priced lower than competiting brands, and you get longer range, the best noise cancelation, connection to your desk  phone, and  computer in a stylish, lighweight design. Compare that to whatever brand you're  now  using, and you'll quickly see the value that these headsets  offer.Have questions, or would like to know more about these Yealink headsets? This eposide of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast will help you to better understand sidetone; what it is, and why it's something you'll want in your next headset. You'll also find out about two excellent headset models that have sidetone, and how both differ in how they provide it. The Podcast is a short 8 minutes, so make sure to listen to the entire show because there's  some golden nuggets at the end. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor. You know, sidetone is one of those headset features that really never gets talked about.  In  fact, most people  really don't  know what it is. But the truth of  the  matter is sidetone plays an important  role  in  allowing us to have a natural sounding,  free flowing conversation. And without a certain amount of  sidetone, you won't be liking life when on calls. So a good starting point is to define what sidetone is.Sidetone is the sound of your voice that's picked up by a microphone, and redirected to the ear speakers. When this happens, it allows you to hear your voice, so you can regulate it when talking to others. When you can't hear yourself  talk, it leaves you uncertain as to the audio level to talk  at. You'll probably end up talking louder than necessary because you simply can't guage how loud to talk. This  is where sidetone plays its important role. It gives you instant feedback as to how loud you're talking.  And when you get that immediate feedback, it allows you adjust the volume at which you talk. There's no shortage of double ear headsets to choose from.  Even within  specific  brands you have  a very wide selection of models.  So,  how do you choose one that might be best for you?  That's a hard  one to answer honestly. You can read reviews, or talk to vendors, but my advice would be to try the headset BEFORE you buy it. And if your vendor won't  give you a unit  to  try before you buy,  then you should  really find a new vendor. There's absolutely no substitute  for trying out the product  before buying it. You can test the sidetone to make sure it's acceptable,  but you can also test the headset  for  comfort,  sound quality and more. Two headsets that I think you should consider include:Orsound Tilde Pro. This is a premium grade Bluetooth headset with a 28 hour battery,  a mic boom that's magnetic,  and removable when  not needed. And,  you can continue using  it via the  include  wire even when the battery is recharging. The  sidetone is adjusted through the Orosound App, which is  a download. If you aren't allow to download software, then you should consider my other  recommendation;  the Discover D722UThe D722U is  a  wired  USB, double ear headset  that has a sidetone button in the inline controller. You're able to activate, or deactive it when you like. The inline controller also includes a speaker for those who don't have a speaker in their computer. So,  you can listen to music, or hear  when your softphone is ringing.Use  coupon code BLOG for a nice discount  on either of these headsets. Trade in  yoru old headsets to save even more. And  if the budget's tight, ask us about our VERY affordable monthly headset lease program.Just go to www.headsetadvisor.com and click on the "contact us" tab.

Some of us had them as toys when we were kids. Others have used them when on camping trips, and still others have used them in a commercial setting, like working in a warehouse for example. But the look, feel, and overall function has changed, and for the better, with a little known App found within Microsoft Teams. This is a Walkie Talkie feature, and it's permissions based, and it does require that your IT Administrator add it to Microsoft Teams. The by the way, this App  is free.So what's required to use it?Microsoft TeamsAn Android, or iOS mobile phoneOne of two BlueParrott wireless headsets, the BP C300 XT (Microsoft version), or the BlueParrott B450 XT.Once you've activated this App, you can establish a contact group within a channel. Opening it up, once established, and you can see who's active. To communicate witi them, simply press and hold the BlueParrott button on the headset. That opens up the channel for you to communicate with your team. So, wherever you have an internet connection, you're able to use this feature.  It eliminates the need to carry an extra device (walkie talkie), and gives you another way to use your Bluetooth headset. No more range limitations either because whether your team is local, or spread across the globe, they're all a BlueParrott button press away. So if you want to enhance your level of communcations with your team, this is an App that you should be aware of, and use if it makes sense for your organization. To learn more about this Teams feaature, or to get your headset questions answered, just reach out to us here at Headset Advisor for some old fashioned, one-on-one customer service. In this episode of the Headset Advisor Tech Review Podcast, you'll find out about some brand new  software that was recently released by Jabra. I'm referring to the new Engage + software for headset users, and headset environments.I don't want you thinking that this software is just like all  the others, because its not. It actually focuses on different things compared to your typical headset software application. So have a listen if you'd like to find out what this  software is all about, and what it can do for you.If you decide to purchase on our website, which is www.headsetadvisor.com make sure to use  coupon code  BLOG to get a nice discount on your order. Trade in your old headsets to save even more. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.Headset software is something relatively new for use with managing business headsets. And, most software that's available is designed to do things like perform firmware updates, or for making adjustments to headsets for things like sidetone, audio preferences, ringer details and more. And though the software in this Podcast is about headsets, it really isn't designed to do the things common to other headset software programs. Instead, this software deals with environmental things, as well as Call Center Agent responses to callers among other things.I'm referring to the new Jabra Engage + software. If you manage a group that spends a lot of  time on the phone, such as in a Contact Center, then this is some software that you really need to know about. Here's what you need to know.First, you need to use one of these models of headsets:Jabra Engage 50 IIJabra Engage 40Why? Because these are the only headsets currently that contain firmware embedded into the microphone boom  that interacts with the software. I'm sure other models will become available  soon.Secondly, you need to make sure that you're allowed to download software, because some organizations don't allow it. So, check with your IT Department to make sure it's allowable. Here's a quick snapshot of what this software does:1. Lets you know when your microphone boom is incorrectly postioned/located. This is to help avoid having poor audio quality.2. You can set the decibel level for your work environment, and when noise exceeds that, you'll  get an alert about noise reaching that level. You can then decide the best way to handle that.3. The software can also keep track of how often you interrupt your callers. The truth is, callers don't like to be interrupted. It can be frustrating, and make them feel like what they have to say is unimportant. Plus, the Agent may miss out on important information.4. The Engage + software even tracks how long you're silent, and how often. Most of us have had the experience of being on a call,  and  the person we're  talking to goes silent for an awkward amount of time that prompts us to ask if they're still on the line. 5. If you try talking while your microphone is muted, you'll get notified right away.  No more giving your best presentation segment only to find out that nobody heard you due to your mic being muted. These are only some of what  this new software can do. To  me,  if you're a Manager of a team who spends their day talking to customers, this is software that can really make a difference. It's free to download, and it has some features that can help to give your customers a better call experience, and help to make your Agents more productive.Have questions, or need some help?  Reach out to us at Headset Advisor, and we'll  be happy to assist.
In this episode you'll find out how well, or not so well,  the new Apple  Airpods Pro 2 do at removing background noise. Are they good to use on business calls, or should  you pass on that? Find out the answer to these questions  and more  by hanging out with me for the next 9 minutes. And, if you end up shopping on our website for a new headset, make sure to use coupon code BLOG when you're at checkout.  If you do,  you'll  get a nice discount  on your order. Trade in your old headsets to save even more. This episode is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and CEO of Headset Advisor.Headsets come in all  sizes and shapes, and one popular style happens to be earbuds. And in that category, Apple  Airpods are highly popular. I know, I own a pair. But, when it  comes to using Airpods on business calls, is that a good idea, or is that something that would qualify you for some serious psychological counseling? In this episode, I'll give you my thoughts on whether  I think you should, or  shouldn't  use Airpods for your business calls. For starters,  there are a number of things that go into a professional, great sounding headset.  But for the sake  of  this podcast,  I'll keep this narrowly focused on the microphone, and even  more  specifically, the microphone's ability to eliminate unwanted background  noise. So with that  said, let's find out if the new Apple Airpods Pro 2 are up to the challenge. Not long ago  I wrote a blog about the Apple Airpods 3,  and whether those earbuds were a good idea for use on business calls. And if you happen to have read, or listened to  it, you'll know that I wasn't giving them an enthusiastic endorsement for that kind of use. I'm pretty sure I used the word "sucks" in that blog more than I've ever used it. This is due to the degree to which it failed our sound tests. Weput the Airpods 3 up against the sounds of office noise, dogs barking,  and a baby crying. All of these noises  could be clearly heard, which says to  me  that the Airpods 3 essentially has zero noise reducing qualities.Fast forward, and now the new Airpods Pro 2 have arrived. Needless to say, I was highly interested to see if Apple stepped up and fixed this issue in this new model.  Sadly, I have to report that the Airpods Pro 2 performed pretty much the same as its predecessor, i.e., a major  noise canceling flop. But I don't want you to take  my word for it.  Instead, I'd invite you to watch our Youtube Short  here and you can decide for yourself if that's the sound you're  looking for. If it is, God bless you. But for me,  I can't get far enough away of that kind of noise reduction if I'm on a business call. Two headsets that you might consider for your business calls instead of these underperforming Airpods Pro 2's are:The Orosound Tilde  ProThe Jabra Engage 50 IIBoth of these headsets have amazing sound quality, which means you'll  sound great to your callers. And both remove nearly all the noise in the background. I know, because we tested both of them. These are professional, business grade headsets that are great for your most important business calls. To learn  more about these premium headsets, reach out to us at Headset Advisor, and one of our expert Advisors will be happy to assist.
