Welcome back to another episode of We All Speak In Poems, before I get to the summary of this conversation, I'd like to thank Andrew Tasselmyer for joining me in this conversation. Honestly, he came up with a vast majority of the questions and conversation points here, and the episode wouldn't be as good without him. Please go check out his new podcast Sound Method where he also chats with a ton of amazing Ambient artists.
In this conversation, Andrew and I are chatting with Taylor Deupree to discuss his approach to music-making, the inspiration behind his music, the 12 principles of his label 12K, and his new mixing space. We discuss the setup of Taylor's studio space and the importance of balancing acoustics, workflow, and vibe, and also delve into the artistic role in mastering and the challenges of live performance. Additionally, we touch on the challenges faced by independent labels and Taylor's personal preference for purchasing and downloading music. Taylor also emphasizes the principles of music, including the idea that everything will change and the importance of striving for timelessness.
I hope you enjoy this episode.
