major K discovered ArchiTEK over a year ago and immediately wanted to sign him on his Flash Forward Presents label. The tracks hem makes have such solid grooves that it’s impossible to not be pulled to the dance floor. Something HotSince82 must have found out as well, as he selected one of ArchiTEK’s tracks for his ADE playlist last October. We talk a bit about this, and how different New York club life is to the one in Tampa, Florida, where ArchiTEK lives right now. Support the show
Madness Factory is a young Serbian producer and DJ who’s trying to establish himself in a country where his genre of music is not necessarily the most popular. In the interview, we talk about his EDM roots, the DJs he liked back then, and the struggles he encountered even when one of his tracks was played at Tomorrowland, one of those editions. It’s a sobering chat, but one that displays a never-give-up mentality, all for the love of music.Support the show
Dimitri Andreas is a silent force in the Belgian dance scene. He’s been known to produce a lot, not only for himself but for and with others as well. He rides the wind of music, so to speak, with techno always the thing he returns to, though he had brushes with even classical music. So yeah, tons of musical baggage led to a fun and long chat with an awesome techno producer and DJ.Support the show
Mister Lady is a DJ and producer from the United States and lives in L.A.. She makes banging techno, but makes a point to deliver great melodies as well. Apart from her club experiences, she provides a great insight into how different the club scene in the States is, compared to for instance Europe. As it is mainly non-existent, bar a couple of examples. So an episode with some good insights in that respect as well. Support the show
Cynthia Laclé is a DJ and producer from the Netherlands but with roots in the Caribbean. While she makes pumping and a lot of the times hard techno, her taste palette is a lot wider than that, with people in other dance music genres inspiring her to get started. And club-wise, well, across the border of the Netherlands, there appears to be a country and place with so much dance music goodness… Just discover it for yourself. Oh and by the way, something appears to have gone wrong while recording the chat on Squadcast, there’s a lot of white noise. We tried to fix it as much as possible but couldn't get rid of it entirely, so apologies for the sound quality.Support the show
This talent from Munich played a great live set at ADE. Identifying as she and they, this is also engraved in her produced music, on record, and on stage. Last Monday we recorded this chat, in which she’s terribly honest about her first DJ set in a club ever, and how an ADE all-nighter of Belgian DJ just was the best club experience of her life so far.Support the show
Nico Morano is a Belgian producer who describes his style of music as ‘emotional deep house’, and that it is. He always takes you on a trip through his universe. He’s a really thoughtful guy, and in the interview, he gives a great insight into how clubbing in 2023 isn’t the same as when he started, and how he experiences that evolution. Very insightful, as you will notice. This interview was recorded on September 5th, 2023.Support the show
major K: "Mike PUSH is a fellow Belgian, and always has supported what I wanted to do in the dance music scene, though I don’t dabble in trance like he does. Universal Nation is still one of my all-time favorite tracks though. For the past couple of decades, Mike has been living in New York, but he always comes back to tour Belgium and Europe whenever he can. Last summer we met up at Tomorrowland again, the interview coming up dates from that time, so July 2023."Support the show
Hasan Ghazi is a Canadian with roots in Pakistan. He has his own record label Reckoning Records and major K has played a lot of his tracks in his mix show Flash Forward Presents with major K. He travelled the world DJ’ing, even ending up in China for a long time, and was a great guy to talk to. Great stories to be had. For your time reference: this interview was recorded on September 20th, 2023.Support the show
What a resurgence Nico Parisi must be experiencing. His track ‘Metro’ was covered by Kevin De Vries and Mau P, and it became the most-played track at last July’s Tomorrowland. It's opening new avenues for the modest Belgian on Afterlife, Tale of Us’s record label. And that while Parisi can already boast a career to be proud of. The excellent opening guest for the new season of Back To The Clubs.Support the show
Delafino must be one of the nicest DJs and people in general I know. Kind, warm, soulful. Just like the music he plays, if it’s for Defected or for Shomi, at Extrema Outdoor or Tomorrowland. He’s soft-spoken and pensive, and obviously a family man. So some sweet ear candy all over this episode.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://backtotheclubs.flashinghotshop.com GUESTSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3z4eGGp  Facebook /// --- Instagram /// https://www.instagram.com/delafino/ Twitter /// ---MAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajork Instagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork  Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajorkSupport the show
A couple of Odeum's tracks made it in my (major K) mix podcasts and live sets, so I thought: why not ask him to be a guest in this show. Didn’t know if he would be able to, as he’s from Ukraine, and there’s a terrible war going on there that shocked the world. But he was immediately game for our podcast series and had listened to previous episodes as well. So I am really grateful for him to take out some time for us, it went on to be an interview full of energy and hope.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://backtotheclubs.flashinghotshop.com GUESTSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3MvjOaL Facebook /// http://facebook.com/odeuMusicInstagram /// http://instagram.com/odeuMusicTwitter /// http://twitter.com/odeuMusicMAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajorkInstagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajorkSupport the show
Got to interview S. Ruston in the flesh at AZUA Tennis Club in Antwerp Belgium, only yesterday. It’s the reason why this episode dropped on Saturday instead of the regular Fridays as well. But what was she doing at a tennis club, you say? Well, she made the soundtrack for a dance performance created by Sophie Guisset, on one of the clay courts there. Brilliant, riveting and tantalising stuff, loved it. S. Ruston resides as said in Berlin nowadays, and a well-known club has everything to do with that.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://backtotheclubs.flashinghotshop.com GUESTSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3sw8oLK Facebook /// https://www.facebook.com/SRustonDJInstagram /// https://www.instagram.com/s_ruston_/Twitter /// https://twitter.com/S_Ruston_MAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajorkInstagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajorkSupport the show
I first met Dave Lambert many years ago when I was covering TomorrowWorld - that was Tomorrowland in the States - for our national broadcaster. The Belgian played a banging gig there, and I was also privy to a great after party set when the festival was over. He is a DJ all the way, with a residency at club Versuz in Belgium. This Saturday, Yves V and he have a Birthday Bash there, with special guest Fedde LeGrand.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://backtotheclubs.flashinghotshop.com DAVE LAMBERTSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FpBjGo Facebook /// http://facebook.com/djdavelambertInstagram /// http://instagram.com/djdavelambertTwitter /// http://twitter.com/djdavelambertMAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajorkInstagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajork/// Tracklist ///These Thoughts (Original Mix) - Danny QuasarThe Rhythm (Extended Mix) - Earth n DaysApollo 12 (Original Mix) - MultimenTill the sky falls down (Calo Divinti Remix) - Dash BerlinAd Astra (Eyal Rabia Remix) - major KBefore I Met You (Original Mix) - Luygi de Paula, AlledoShift (Original Mix) - Nick Thistleton -  - Progressive HouseUnknown Darkness (D Mayer Remix) - Stark DMelting Through (Original Mix) - Tomi HStellar (Original Mix) - Danny QuasarFeel - Metric (UK), Micah BaxterFeeling (Extended Mix) - Jack BackLose Your Control (Club Mix) - Lucky JesusWhat We Do (Will Taylor Remix) - Motion SkyRelease (feat. Seán Comiskey is one half of the British DJ duo Shumbo Jebang and does a really good job co-running Underground Kollektiv, a group of like-minded DJs and producers from all over the world, with for instance a non-stop online radio station. Check it out on undergroundkollektiv.co.uk. He’s from Manchester but has a soft spot for Berlin as one of the club capitals of the world. And he oozes a passion for music, that was more than clear during our long chat. I’ve known Yves V for quite some time now, even was there when he had his first solo show. All exciting stuff. But although Yves has toured the world and played the biggest stages, he’s very humble about that, and enjoys the crowd and being near them most of all. It’s like he still can’t believe he’s living the life that he does. Living the dream, as it were.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://dancemusicmerch.com GUESTSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3MdQCEy  Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialyvesv Instagram /// http://instagram.com/yves_v Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialyvesvMAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajork Instagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork  Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajorkSupport the show
It’s a special edition, as I wasn’t able to secure a guest for this episode. But! In almost each interview I did, there were bits that didn’t make the show. Those bits get a place in this episode. You’ll hear extra great views by Mason, Robert Abigail, Jay Frog, Insolate, Keizer Jelle, DJ Licious, Jaydee, Lucky Jesus, Vanilla ACE, and starting with AM.I.Support the show
You might know Mason from the massive hit he had with the track Exceeder. First without vocal, then with the famous rap by Princess Superstar, known as ‘Perfect’. But Mason’s about much more than that, so the track only gets a mention at the end of our chat.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://backtotheclubs.flashinghotshop.com MASONSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/36FntmG Facebook /// http://facebook.com/musicofmasonInstagram /// http://instagram.com/musicofmasonTwitter /// http://twitter.com/musicofmasonMAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajork Instagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork  Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajorkSupport the show
Robert Abigail is a Dutch producer who you might know from his monster hit ‘The Mojito Song’ that kind of kickstarted his career. We talk a bit about that, about how he sees that career evolve and of course about some great club memories. I must admit: the sound on my end isn’t so good. Think the recording system used the built-in mic instead of my studio set up and I only discovered that after the interview was taped. So sorry for the less quality of sound, tried to fix it as much as I could, and I think it IS presentable. So please do enjoy the show, anyhow.Support the show
Jay Frog is a German producer and DJ who was once part of the well known Scooter. I met the guy at Dancefair a couple of years ago, and after that on and off in the DJ scene. Always was nice chatting with him, and this time isn’t any different. What do you think is the most important thing for a DJ in a club. The answer you get today from Jay isn’t what you may expect. And one of his most memorable gigs had a lot to do with … sand.BACK TO THE CLUBS Merch /// http://dancemusicmerch.com JAY FROGTwitch /// https://twitch.tv/jayfrogSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3qhstEt Facebook /// http://facebook.com/jayfrogInstagram /// http://instagram.com/jayfrogTwitter /// http://twitter.com/jayfrogofficialWeb /// http://jay-frog.comMAJOR KSpotify /// https://spoti.fi/3FJu7DB Facebook /// http://facebook.com/officialmajork Instagram /// http://instagram.com/officialmajork  Twitter /// http://twitter.com/officialmajorkSupport the show
