Curious Realm

In this episode of The Curious Realm, host Christopher Jordan welcomes cryptozoologist and author Ken Gerhard to discuss the recent wide release of the hotly debated documentary Capturing Bigfoot. This film made a huge wake in the world of cryptozoology when it premiered at this year’s SXSW film festival in Austin, Texas. But does the film disprove the famed Patterson-Gimlin film as so many have claimed? In the second part of the episode, we welcome researcher and head of the Pharoah’s Pump Foundation, Steven Myers. We discuss the recently retracted Pyramid SAR study which, when submitted, many thought it proved large structures under the great pyramid of Giza. We also discuss the true dangers of such bold claims, making headlines without the proper scientific backing and using questionable methods to coax data as you see fit. This amazing tool utilizes data aggregation to provide investigators with a comprehensive dataset from real time sensor platforms as well as internet histories, relevant information from associated databases, and more. In the second part of the episode, we welcome author and researcher Jason Quitt to discuss his new book The Shining Island, a work which takes on the question of Plato’s Atlantis, as presented in his dialogue Timaeus, and whether it was a physical place, or a celestial allegory. Was Atlantis a utopic-wonderland brought down by their own huberous, or could it be that Plato was trying to give us a warning of global cycles that man is bound to repeat?! In this episode of The Curious Realm, host Christopher Jordan welcomes author and researcher Jason McLean to discuss the famed Lake Worth Monster, as well as the festival that bears its name. How did this DFW Cryptid go from reports of being “a scaley goat-like creature with the body of a man”, to a large white Bigfoot type creature throwing a tire toward a crowd of over a dozen Texas one evening in the summer of 1          969? How did these stories become one creature, how do stories move from local legend to become accepted truth, and why is it important for us to keep these localized folklores alive? In the second part of the episode, we welcome author and founder of RKEOX, Jared Murphy to discuss ancient knowledge lost by humanity over the course of millennia, what recovering the collective consciousness of humanity may take, and what amazing technologies may come to bear if we are able to do so! In this episode of The Curious Realm, host Christopher Jordan welcomes retired Lt Commander Alex Dietrich, former member of the VFA-41 "Black Aces" fighter squadron aboard the USS Nimitz. We discuss her years of experience as a navy pilot, as well as sighting of the “Tic-Tac” shaped UFO of the now famed Nimitz encounter, how those few moments have seemed to define the course of modern Ufology, and what it has been like to observe that change as a person who is such an integral part of that moment? In the second part of the episode, we welcome author and experiencer Reverend Michael JS Carter to discuss Metaphysical morality. What is Metaphysics and how does it help us understand our place within the Universe-at-large? Is religion necessary for morality, or are we intrinsically called to moral standard as humanity without the need of religious influence?
