Josh Madson made a name for himself as a successful fashion and beauty photographer in Los Angeles, he is bringing his talents to Mankato for the 'Mankato Community Collage'. Mankato Community Collage will take place as part of the Riverfront Art Fair on June 10th and 11th in Old Town Mankato. This initiative is intended for anyone and everyone in the community to come have their photo taken to be displayed as a public art installation at The Coffee Hag. What is now the Carnegie Art Center was originally built as the community's library in 1901. The art center has a new director, Charlie Leftridge and Shannon Sinning, the chair of the Board of Directors are today's guests. The pair are sharing their exciting vision for the future of the Carnegie Art Center as well as how aspiring artists can get involved at the art center. Greater Mankato Growth is announcing the winners of their first round of recipients for the Main Street Revitalization Grants. Ryan Vesey, Economic Development & Research Manager from Greater GMG is our guest on the podcast today. Businesses seeking to develop or redevelop property in Blue Earth and Nicollet County can apply for grants to cover up to 30% of the total eligible project costs. Target corridors include the Mankato and North Mankato City Center, the US Hwy 60/169 corridor, and the US Hwy 14 corridor. Corridors are visible on this map: MN Main Street - Greater Mankato Commercial Corridors. The grant application as well as application instructions and frequently asked questions are available here. The deadline for application submissions is Tuesday, January 31.

MY (Mankato Youth) Place is a safe, after school and non-school day facility that offers programming for Mankato Kindergarten through 8th graders. Programming is offered to families at no charge, MY Place depends on community donors for its funding.
