I enjoyed this podcast topic. I'd like to be able to laugh at the simple mindedness of the people back then however, I'm 40 y/o and remember going with multiple family members to take babies to a Sobador "Para subir la mollera" to raise the baby's soft spot. thankfully this practice isn't done much anymore but you can still find youtube videos on how to perform this treatment for babies who are inconsolable, crying. Cultural healing practices are harder to stop..I wish they could see how many are as helpful as blowing smoke up someone's A$$ is.

I work at a vet and have had several cat bites. The last one became badly infected and sent me to the hospital for 2 days. Good times.

JoAnna Stanford I work in a high acuity Urgent Care. Approximately 75% of the animal bites that we see are cat bites, usually requiring IV antibiotics.

It happens in animals from eating an infected flea. We give them an injection or pills(the owner chooses), one at admit the other 2weeks later. They don't usually poop it out though, the body digest it.
