Description

emma prefers to share her thoughts with a microphone rather than a physical human being, so thank god she has a podcast. recorded from the comfort of her bed...and some other fun places, emma talks at length about whatever is on her mind every week. anything really does go on this podcast. sometimes philosophy, sometimes a random story from 10 years ago, sometimes advice, sometimes fun interviews, and sometimes nothing at all. you never know what you are going to get, but that’s what keeps it interesting. new episodes every thursday and sunday, video available only on spotify.

i came to the conclusion the other day that i need to allow myself to be bored more often. this is not a new conversation for us here on anything goes. i have talked about this before, but i've come to the conclusion again recently that i'm not bored enough. and i know that being bored is important because, through life experience, i've noticed that times of boredom have led me to do incredible things. so today i want to get into why i think boredom is important. the stanley cup has been a hot topic of conversation now for probably a few months. this cup has taken over the world, probably not the world, but at least america. but the stanley cup is not all sunshine and rainbows. as with all things that go mainstream, people now hate this cup, and what's been said about the stanley cup is that it's cheugy. cheugy is a slang term that describes someone or something as uncool, outdated, or lacking in style and originality. it can also mean someone who is out of touch with current trends or trying too hard to be trendy. and so today, i want to talk about all the things i love that are cheugy. i think it's beneficial to check in every once in a while to figure out the ways that you’re toxic. you can't get through life without being a little bit toxic. now don't feel attacked because we're all a little toxic. if you choose to turn a blind eye to the ways that you're toxic and to the ways that other people are toxic, how are you able to improve and grow? i've decided to make a list of all the ways that i'm currently toxic, and today i'm going to be sharing them with you.  Learn more about your ad choices. if you're a long-time listener of anything goes, you might remember a little series i used to do called advice session, where i would ask you to submit current challenges and struggles that you're dealing with, and i would take a few of them and give my advice. i think the reason why i stopped doing this series was because i had imposter syndrome about whether or not i had the credentials to give advice. however, i enjoy giving advice and so we're bringing it back. i have the best intentions and i want you to win in life! but still, take everything i say with a grain of salt.  if you’re struggling with something right now and want my advice, send me a dm on the anything goes instagram page https://www.instagram.com/anythinggoes/?hl=en Learn more about your ad choices. [video available on spotify] i would not consider myself to be a friendship expert, and so that's why i'm very excited to talk to danielle bayard jackson. she’s a friendship coach who speaks nationally on the subject of female friendships. through her work, danielle teaches women how to make and maintain better friendships through research-based methodology. friendship is a huge piece of our foundation in life and digging in and analyzing it never hurt anyone.  you can buy danielle's book here: https://www.daniellebayardjackson.com you can hear danielle's podcast on spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/7grL1odIL4KlE5wMWolr9a?si=856d6791c0f44923 Learn more about your ad choices. you know what i love? a metaphor. and my favorite metaphor this week is the lens that we view life through. i'm referring to our perspective, attitude, or general point of view towards life. it's something i'm really working on right now - making sure that i'm looking at life through the best lens possible. so today i'm sharing two major examples of lens shifts that have happened in my life recently, and 3 things i do to keep my lenses in check. [video available on spotify] i've dabbled in the world of psychedelics a little bit. i've taken mushrooms a few times, but i really don't know a lot about psychedelics. however, it's becoming an increasingly more relevant topic as it's been revealed that they can help with mental health issues and have therapeutic qualities. robin carhart-harris is a pioneer and leading researcher in neuroscience and psychopharmacology, best known for his groundbreaking work on how psychedelics affect the brain and how they can be used to treat mental health issues. in 2019, he founded the world's first center for psychedelic research at imperial college london. basically, he’s all about using psychedelics to help human suffering to improve the quality of people's lives. so today, we're going to learn a new definition of psychedelics with robin carhart-harris. [video available on spotify] i’m so honored to be bringing this guest to you because i’m such a big fan of everything this man does. today we have rainn wilson. rainn is an emmy nominated actor, best known for his role as dwight schrute in the u.s. version of the office. he’s also a producer and author. his latest book is called soul boom: why we need a spiritual revolution, and he’s also the host of the podcasts “metaphysical milkshake” and the soon to be launched “soul boom.” i've heard rainn talk a lot about anxiety and spirituality, two things that are very relevant in my personal life. i think they're relevant in a lot of our lives. i'm very anxious and because of that, i've become very spiritual to try to cope with it, which is another reason i’m excited to speak to rainn today. so let's bring in the incredible rainn wilson links to rainn wilson's audiobooks soul boom: why we need a spiritual revolution https://open.spotify.com/show/0FAngrGVoxWD23qQCWgpFz?si=debcc46a05c046d1 the bassoon king: my life in art, faith, and idiocy https://open.spotify.com/show/7jWoBrtsuJ2uomdXTHVmAf?si=21d0837dbc584c22 soul boom podcast with rainn wilson: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IcR07iNbmI7rZiuJpi32d?si=f29a7d4f81864fe8 metaphysical milkshake podcast with rainn and reza https://open.spotify.com/show/0zUGqUkBdL3Cc5IP8DtUEY?si=6d4cd431962e4060 Learn more about your ad choices. i've talked a lot publicly about my imposter syndrome because it's something that i've struggled with since i was a teenager. but i had sort of an epiphany recently that imposter syndrome isn't really a relevant struggle for me in my life anymore. it's definitely still a challenge, but it's just not as big of a deal as it used to be for me. and i think i figured out how i overcame it. so that's what i wanna discuss today - how i fixed my imposter syndrome. [video available on spotify] something that we do every day that we don't think about enough is make decisions. we don't consider the decisions that we make as deeply as i think we could. that’s why i'm so excited to be speaking to emily p. freeman today because her mission is to help people get out of a rut, and get better at making decisions. she’s the author of the book, the next right thing: a simple, soulful practice for making life decisions, and the host of the podcast, the next right thing. i'm excited to discuss the art of decision making with emily today because when you really think about it, a lot of stress and discomfort starts with a decision that needs to be made. so let’s bring in emily. you can find emily p. freeman's books here: How to Walk into a Room https://open.spotify.com/show/1J4MF1o3CHw3QXDIYYwPe8?si=acc39b44a904aab The Next Right Thing https://open.spotify.com/show/3ySUBZK2BCE2N8P3MLlrKf?si=acc39b44a904aab A Million Little Ways https://open.spotify.com/show/3ONkELKMniFWQQklyBnMjV?si=5e2dda5d6ffb44df Grace for the Good Girl https://open.spotify.com/show/4ltdqP7N85ptWDoh2nnqtL?si=d7ce7d1645b849ad Simply Tuesday https://open.spotify.com/show/6BhDLQPdNwMmfj7WVOBrqN?si=e2baba668ec8421e Learn more about your ad choices. [video available on spotify]  you know what i'm a victim of? misinformation on the internet. a headline from a non-reputable source that says turmeric will cure your depression, i'm clicking. there's a whole lot of hearsay on the internet and none of us are safe from it. so today i have a treat for all of us - wendy zukerman, host of the hit podcast science vs - a show that takes a topic and lays all the science out on the table. today, we're going to answer some science questions that i have because wendy's like a walking scientific journal. so sit back, relax, and enjoy miss wendy.   Learn more about your ad choices. cringe, a talk with emma

cringe, a talk with emma

recently i've been thinking about cringe. i can look at something and be like, that's cringe. i can do something and be like, “emma, that was cringe.” but i rarely ask myself why. i don't think it's possible to completely avoid being cringe, but i feel like understanding what makes something cringe may be beneficial. and also investigating whether or not cringe is always bad. so today, i'm going to be investigating what makes something cringe, and when cringe is bad versus when cringe is maybe good Learn more about your ad choices. [video available on spotify] to be human today is to be stressed out, which is why i'm excited to be talking to dr. aditi nerurkar about stress. she's a harvard physician and lecturer, and a nationally recognized stress expert. she's also the author of the “the 5 resets: rewire your brain and body for less stress and more resilience.” dr. aditi is very aware of the way that modern technology meets our brains to create a high stress world. she speaks to me in a way that i can understand so that i can apply the things that she discusses into my life, which means i can slay harder because isn't that what it's all about? without further ado, let me present to you dr. aditi nerurkar. find dr. nerurkar's book on her website: https://www.draditi.com/ Learn more about your ad choices. this episode is going to come as a shock to many of you because many of you know me as a fashion lover. i recently became obsessed with the idea of dressing in a uniform. my default mode of getting dressed in the morning is putting something new on every day. i've flirted with the idea of a uniform before when i did my series on minimalism a few months back, but at the time it was something that i felt wasn't realistic for me. recently though, there's been a shift in my brain, and i'm taking this idea much more seriously. so let’s discuss the pros and cons of dressing in a uniform. [video available on spotify]  a couple of weeks ago, i made the decision that i was going to get laser hair removal, and i was referred to kristina kitsos. she's so incredibly knowledgeable about all of the popular treatments today, from botox, to filler, to anything you can imagine. kristina is a multi-specialty trained registered nurse with over 15 years of experience working in the field of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine. she's doing the botox and the filler. she's not doing the brazilian butt lift surgery - she's not a plastic surgeon. whether we like it or not, it's the beauty standard nowadays to have botox, to have filler, or to have a facelift. and i find myself constantly confused about where i stand on it. i think today's conversation is gonna help me come to a clearer conclusion and maybe you, too. so i'm very excited to introduce you to kristina kitsos. i had an epiphany recently and it's been really fascinating because it's about a belief that i've had that i wasn't fully conscious of. the subconscious belief that i've carried almost my whole life is that people who are harder to get are better. people who are harder to get can provide more value in my life. this is a belief that if i had spoken it sooner, i would've demolished it sooner because i know in my conscious brain that it’s not true. but for some reason, i've always believed that. Hello Emma hope you have a great journey ahead. I just started to listen to your podcasts and this episode was my first. So i wanna to tell you i'm really proud of you for telling about your quitting nicotine journey and also having the courage to talk about it. I'm also having addiction and i say you, i really had about a hundred time i had relapse but you know i'm still struggling to get rid of it. The best way out is always through, as Robert Frost say. I also suggest you to read the book Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Matthew Perry. Wish you that day. ❤️🌹

The hole in the concept of karma without reincarnation is compensated when you think the world as a unite and whole thing, and everybody and everything in it , is essentially from one consciousness, then whatever you do ( good or bad) you’re doing it to yourself.

I am absolutely obsessed with Emma Chamberlain! She's such a breath of fresh air in the world of content creators. What I love most about her is that she's unapologetically herself, and she's not afraid to be goofy, candid, and relatable. https://www.scooploop.com/business/sticker-printing-pros Her vlogs are like a window into her life, and it's so refreshing to see someone who doesn't try to portray a perfect image all the time. Emma's authenticity is what makes her so endearing to her audience, including myself. https://www.yelp.com/biz/nyc-packaging-solution-brooklyn
