Description

Unfilmable is a show about horror movies, from Gary Butterfield and Kole Ross of Duckfeed.tv. It's a premium show, as part of our Patreon campaign at patreon.com/duckfeedtv. It began as a show about adapting Lovecraft to the screen, but then became a general horror movie show after a couple of years. Each month we take a deep dive into horror movies from all eras and have a pretty good time doing it.

Saw II: Seen, is a sequel that tries to be bigger, better, and more deadly than its predecessor. It succeeds in two of those. More traps, more victims, surprisingly the same amount of backstory.

A really eerie movie that is 90% shots of ceilings and floors.

Our analysis of Get Out shouldn’t be the only (or even the first!) that you hear. To provide a broader perspective, we’ve assembled this list of pieces written by critics of color. “Getting In and Out” by Zadie Smith (https://harpers.org/archive/2017/07/getting-in-and-out/) “From ‘Get Out’ to ‘Nope’, Jordan Peele is Reframing the Act of Looking” by Kelli Weston (https://www.blackstarfest.org/seen/read/observed/jordan-peele-nope-feature/) “Get Out film analysis - Negrophilia, race-relation and the new dynamic” by Abdul Moiz (https://medium.com/@abdulmoiz168/get-out-film-analysis-negrophilia-race-relation-and-the-new-dynamic-b64f6ed8095f) “Horror Blackademics: The Get Out (2017) Syllabus” by the Graveyard Shift Sisters. (https://www.graveyardshiftsisters.com/archive//2017/06/horror-blackademics-get-out-2017.html) This is an index of even more pieces, compiled for a course on Get Out created by Crystal Boson, PhD.

One of the smartest horror movies of the last few years, and it was directed by one of the Whitest Kids U Know. If you haven't seen it, get on it.

Episode 55: Neonomicon

Big asterisks on this one folks. This stuff confronts the subtext in Lovecraft's work as text. Explicitily. You have been warned, but it's kind of a great read if you can stomach it.
Punks and Zombies. Technically this is a sequel to The Night of the Living Dead in the most meta way possible.
Episode 53: Session 9

Sometimes I really wish I didn't live in an abandoned asylum.
Episode 52: Dolls

Episode 52: Dolls

2023-06-2801:10:06

Just a bunch of guys and dolls.
The maniacs decided to make a slasher series where there isn't a killer. And at least for this entry, it works. Wendy is a precog who gets a vision of herself and her friends dying horribly on a rollercoaster. She stops her friends from riding, and death gets angry. And when death gets angry, he makes ample use of one small town's horrendous safety standards to off those kids... horrendously.
