This goes out to you if mending a relationship has been on your mind lately. It is for many of us. Re-releasing this episode is my small gift to you, in hopes you feel inspired to reconnect or reengage with someone you love this holiday season. Maybe for you, that’s family. And Dr. Jeff is exactly that. He’s my oldest brother, a prolific author, a deeply respected speaker and leader, and a recent cancer survivor. Though our worldviews are often opposing, what we share is important – VALUES. During our heartfelt (and sometimes difficult) conversation, we share with you how we have learned to challenge each other, how to stay curious, how arguments often lead to agreement, and – perhaps the most transformational – 5 conversation-altering words you can use. So pop this one on in the car or on the plane. Because missing out on meaningful human connection is not the answer – especially with those we hold dear. ___ Also, stay tuned for what's coming in 2024. Fresh format, focus, and guests that satisfy our continuing journey into curiosity together. Until then, let's connect on LinkedIn, Insta, and Facebook. Happy Holidays!
Not every recorded moment makes it into the podcast. Sometimes really poignant, personal, or humorous nuggets get left on the cutting room floor. My team and I – to wrap up our second season – selected four of our favorites to include in this special episode. Chew on clips from Chip Conley, Amy Gallo, and my brother, Jeff Myers, and then let us know what you think by leaving a review. See you in Season Three! If you never thought a conversation about artificial intelligence would turn into one about unconditional love, I think you’ll find this episode especially inspiring. Hear fascinating stories from ground-breaking scientist, author, and speaker Julia Mossbridge about how we as humans have to make the decision to use technology for good, and how solving the “human problem” comes first. The question then becomes: when we listen for our next move, do we really understand how to be with ourselves and each other? And can we really elevate unconditional love through technology? If you haven’t yet listened to Part One: The Ear Can Go Where the Eye Cannot, start there. Each part is less than 30 minutes, making the whole series about an hour! Each episode can stand on its own, but I believe you’ll enjoy them together. This episode marks the end of the regular season, but stay tuned for a special bonus episode coming your way in September! Julia Mossbridge is a scientist, author, and speaker on the University of San Diego faculty, and founder of the Mossbridge Institute and TILT, The Institute for Love and Time. Her fascinating projects surround artificial intelligence (or AI, which is a particular interest of mine), unconditional love, time travel, a robot named Sophia, and much more. Early on in our free-flowing conversation, Julia turned the tables and surprised me a question, which allowed me to reflect on highlights from the season so far. If you’ve been with us since the beginning, take note as we name-drop past guests and the wisdom they imparted. If you’re new (welcome!), see it as a road map to which episodes to jump to next. This conversation was so rich, my team and I wanted to preserve each unexpected moment and fashion a thoughtful way to share them with you. So, here at Listening on Purpose, we present you with our first double-episode series. Enjoy Part One with the incredible Julia Mossbridge.
