Take a deep breath, and let it fill your being. PAUSE As you gather yourself mentally and emotionally, take another deep breath, and bring everything  into focus for this meditation. PAUSE Take a moment, and visualize the inside of your home. And, as you do, breath and see yourself walking through your home. PAUSE Imagine being in a room with photographs, pictures that capture favorite moments in time. Feel those precious moments. PAUSE Then, see yourself moving to the living room and finding your favorite place to sit. Snuggle up in the chair or couch, and allow yourself to feel the comfort and security. PAUSE Then move to the kitchen, where you smell  your favorite dinner simmering on the stove and baking in the oven Breathe in the wonderful aroma. PAUSE Imagine now, moving to the bedroom, where your day  begins and ends. PAUSE Run your hand  over the comforter or duvet, taking in the soft warmth. Open the closet where your clothes hang, and imagine pulling out your favorite outfit and putting it on. Look in the mirror, gazing at your  beauty in this outfit. and feel the confidence flow. PAUSE Now, breathe. Breathe again, and let yourself absorb all the wonder  of these parts of you– all these pieces  that help make you  who you truly are. And take a minute to express your gratitude. Let it fill you full… as the day awaits your entry. PAUSE… Now breathe, Deeply and fully, Telling your body and your mind, That it’s time to rest.  And as you exhale,  Imagine sinking further into your bed, And deeper into comfort.  Find the rhythm of your breathing. And see if you can inhale just a little deeper, And exhale just a little longer, Slowing down your breathing,  Slowing down your body, Slowing down your mind. Breathe… LONG PAUSE… Surrender yourself to the night. Bring all your pain and woes, All the worry that grows, Give her all that’s broken tonight.  LONG PAUSE… Hand your body to the gentle arms of sleep. All those places that need healing, All the emotions you’ve been feeling, Need the night to heal them real deep.  LONG PAUSE… Recovery mode will soon be upon you. Anything broken or bruised, Any part of you that’s confused, Will slowly repair and renew.  PAUSE… Breathe in and collect, All that needs repair.  Breathe out and protect, Recover with sweet care.  LONG PAUSE… Sink deeper and deeper into your dreams. As your body gets quiet and heavy, As your breath gets slower and steady, Let healing come upon you in streams.  LONG PAUSE… Feel the peace and stillness spread. Every breath calms you down more, Every minute here helps you restore. PAUSE Breathe in and out, until your breath forms a peaceful rhythm and you feel that peace, too. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, walking along a country road, a simple dirt road, banked by plush, green grass. PAUSE As you breathe, you notice the freshness of the air  and hints of flowers, trees and earth, in each breath. PAUSE On one side of you are brown and white and black cows, grazing nonchalantly  on the river of grass, each in its own world. PAUSE On the other side, you notice  several young goats, prancing about and bleating like children on a playground. PAUSE As you walk, a red barn  and bright silver silo catch your eye. Not far from the barn is a white house with a long porch that wraps around the house. A rocking chair moves ever-so-slightly in the breeze. PAUSE A farmer in overalls pushes open the door from the house and emerges. She waves to you, and you return  the wave with a smile. PAUSE As you continue  on your walk, imagine coming to a point where the dirt road ends. A beautiful meadow teeming with colorful wildflowers unfolds before you. PAUSE You draw in another long, deep breath and gaze at  the beauty before you. A feeling of immense gratitude rises within you, and you realize how easy it is  to miss the simple beauty of life. You carry the gratitude and beauty with you through your day. PAUSE Now, breathe. Breathe, and feel yourself centering and finding the calm at your center. PAUSE Imagine, if you can, arriving at the beach in the early morning. The sun has just risen, and the world is shaking off the dark of night and awakening in color. PAUSE Take a moment, and visualize drawing in a deep breath, a breath tinged with salt and sweet, as you begin walking along the shore. PAUSE The waves gently roll in, sounding a rhythm that matches the beat of your heart. The peace of nature surrounds you. The peace of nature is in you. PAUSE As you walk, you notice a little crab, scurrying from its hole to the tide  in search of food. Any little movement causes the jittery  crab to skirt back and forth. PAUSE As you watch the creature, you realize how often in life you bounce from thing-to-thing, losing sight of your purpose from distraction or fear. PAUSE Moments later, a pelican catches your eye. The bird glides just above the water, pausing occasionally to scoop up a fish, and then to glide away again. You marvel at the ease with which the pelican moves toward its purpose. PAUSE You take a deep breath, turn toward the sun, and lift your arms to the sky with purpose. As you stand there, you hear a whisper in the breeze, a whisper that reminds you to trust your purpose without fear. Let those feelings gently wash over you. PAUSE Take another breath, and see if you can imagine walking in the woods in the morning. PAUSE As you walk, you draw in a cool breath filled with the scent of pine. It tickles your nose in a wonderful way. PAUSE The sunlight  streams through the trees, splashing in pools on  the ground. PAUSE As the light grows through the trees, so does your shadow. The air warms up delicately. PAUSE Squirrels dash by you, pausing to dig for acorns, and then scuttling away. Birds sing from the trees like sopranos in an opera. PAUSE The woods curve, and you follow the path that leads to a tiny brook. Imagine yourself  sitting down by the brook. PAUSE The water gently tumbles over rocks– it is still in some places, and rushing quickly in others. PAUSE A large bass pushes up to the surface, his mouth open wide, as he pulls in his catch of a little water bug. PAUSE There is an unmatched peace at the brook, a feeling of complete synergy with nature. you want to keep the image and the feeling. PAUSE Imagine yourself  taking a snapshot  of the where you are and how your feeling– a snapshot that you store in your mind and heart. Hold onto that snapshot, and allow it to stay with you, as you ready yourself for the day. Calm yourself down,  And bring yourself here, You’ve got this…just for today.  LONG PAUSE Sometimes those dreams,  Are so far away, It feels like they’ll never be yours.  Sometimes those demons,  Keep creeping upon you, How long can you hold shut the doors? PAUSE Take a big, deep breath… And come back inside,  Whenever it all feels too hard. PAUSE Take a moment to just breathe. Just breathe and be. Just breathe and be. PAUSE Imagine, if you can, being transported  to a woodland clearing with hundreds of brightly colored flowers blooming in the  morning sunlight. PAUSE As you gaze at the clearing, a tall flower with dozens of tiny bell-shaped petals catches your eye. It is foxglove–the favored fairy flower. PAUSE You approach the flower gingerly, hoping to see a fairy. You lean near the flower, watching and listening. PAUSE After a few moment, you hear a high-pitched twitter, like a tiny bell. The fairies are active. PAUSE You wait patiently, And after a while a tiny, green fairy  emerges from the flower. She flies toward you, her iridescent wings glistening in the sun. Then she pauses near your face. PAUSE You nod your head slightly, and at that very moment, the fairy looks down at the flower. The foxglove is bowing to you. PAUSE The fairy smiles and begins twittering again. This time you understand her when she tells you of the  sacred nature of the foxglove. “It bows when a spiritual creature passes by it.” Then, the fairy flies away. PAUSE You take a moment and watch the fairy flit from flower to flower, and then look once more at the bowing foxglove. But this time, you bow to the fairy flower, because you will take with you the confirmation  of your deep spiritual self. And let it bloom in you always. Close your eyes, and let your body unwind and your mind let go. PAUSE Breathe. Breathe. Breathe and relax. PAUSE Now, visualize walking in a lovely garden during springtime. And in this garden is a striking purple lilac bush. PAUSE Next to the lilac bush is a gardener who sees you coming. Instinctively, he gets up and cuts some lilac for you. PAUSE After a while, you find a bench, and sit down to admire your lilac. You draw in a breath, breathing in the  ethereal smell of the lilac. PAUSE Now, imagine closing your eyes while holding the lilac, and as you do,  you feel a sense of protection surrounding you. Lilac is a source of spiritual protection against negative energy. PAUSE You breathe in  more of the lilac’s fragrance. And this time, a creative energy surges in you. You feel inspired to act, to create. So, you close your eyes and imagine what to create. Really take a moment and allow yourself  to feel creative and inspired. That is another gift  of the lilac. PAUSE Your time is the garden  is coming to a close. So, you get off the bench and begin walking. And, as you walk, you hear a tiny voice whisper more about the lilac. It is a symbol of innocence and purity. PAUSE Now, with your eyes still closed, bring your consciousness  back to the present. And, along with your awareness, bring back the gifts of the lilac. Now is the time to embrace them: Protection from negative energy. Creativity and inspiration. Innocence and purity. Breathe,  and let the scent of the lilac live in you, along with its beautiful spiritual gifts. Welcome it with open arms, and an open heart and mind, too. PAUSE And, now breathe, and as you breathe, imagine a field of daffodils, golden yellow daffodils. PAUSE The daffodils are aligned in rows, with their yellow trumpets surrounded by a halo of petals and reaching for the sun. PAUSE The sun shines on your face, and a breeze, with just a hint of coolness gently blows by. PAUSE And, while the breeze blows, the daffodils come alive. Like a roomful of line dancers, they sway and bop. They shimmy and bow. They twist and turn. And then still themselves when the musical breeze stops. PAUSE Moments later, the breeze kicks up again, and the daffodils bend to one side, and then the other, as if they’re waving to you, smiling at you, and inviting you to dance. PAUSE You breathe in  more of the flower’s fragrance. The breeze blows again. And, this time, you find yourself bending and swaying  like the daffodils. You are dancing with the daffodils with a beautiful smile on your face. PAUSE Now, take a moment, and hold onto the  happy feeling  you get  while dancing with the daffodils. Bring that smile, and that joy back to here and now. And, know that any time you need a little pick-me-up, you can always do-si-do with a daffodil. The emotions build up, And all the thoughts abound. PAUSE… Sometimes we forget, To express what’s swirling inside, And soon we can find ourselves, Needing a cathartic cry. LONG PAUSE… We don’t always know why, We don’t always know when, It feels like out of the blue, Tears release from their pen.  PAUSE… Let them fall, Let them flow, Open your heart, And let them go.  LONG PAUSE… Maybe you’ve been holding, So much on your shoulders. The millions of responsibilities, Can feel like giant boulders.  PAUSE… Maybe you’ve been moving, And running through the day. You haven’t made time to be still, With everything that’s come your way. PAUSE… Perhaps a moment triggers, A memory from your past. Pain comes rushing through, The emotions come real fast.  PAUSE… Let them fall, Let them flow, Open your heart, And let them go.  LONG PAUSE… A cathartic cry will feel, Like you’ve released so much weight. It cleanses and refreshes, And always feels so great.  PAUSE… There’s no shame in the tears, There’s nothing you need to explain. There may not be any meaning, It’s simply a release for your brain. PAUSE… So take a big, deep breath, And examine what’s inside. Perhaps there’s some tension, Some feelings you’ve tried to hide.  PAUSE… Allow yourself to gather, All that’s heavy and gray. And when you exhale, let go, Let it all float away. Let it flow through you, gently easing any tension. PAUSE Breathe in again, this time, clearing your mind of all distracting thoughts, and centering you for this meditation. PAUSE Now, imagine, if you can, a beautiful bouquet of multi-colored roses fanning out before you. PAUSE There are  Red roses, Pink roses, Yellow roses, and a single Blue rose. And, as you admire them, their sweet and spicy scents fill the air, like a dreamy perfume. PAUSE Draw in deep breath, and, imagine, if you can, reaching out and touching the velvety petals of the flowers. PAUSE As you touch the red rose, you’re filled with love, powerful, committed love. So, you take a deep breath, and let the loving essence of the rose settle into your heart. PAUSE Then, you touch the pink flower, and visions of loving women in your life come to mind. As you touch the pink rose, you are filled with appreciation and gratitude for these women. And you breathe, letting the thankful essence of the rose settle into your heart. PAUSE Then, your fingers run over  the yellow rose. As they do,  visions of your dearest friends come into your consciousness. You breathe, letting the essence of friendship  from the rose settle into your heart. PAUSE As your hands touch the blue rose, you feel a surge  of uniqueness in your soul. You breathe, letting the unique essence of the rose settle in your heart. PAUSE Take a minute and pause, and allow yourself to connect with all beautiful essences you took into your heart. You are loved. You are appreciated. You have dear friends. You are unique. And if you ever have a doubt in any of these areas, take a minute and visualize the rose and know that its spirit is in you. PAUSE… We might even take fear’s hand, And walk towards our dreams, Trembling, yet confident, That we will figure things out.  So breathe in, And allow yourself to open. Vulnerable,  Imperfect, You. PAUSE… Let your body relax, Sinking deeper with every breath out.  PAUSE… Be here in this moment,  Heart open to your fears. Notice them sitting beside you, And surrounding you. PAUSE And,while you’re relaxing, imagine, if you can, standing tall and proud in a beautiful field, as a sunflower. PAUSE Now, take a moment, and notice your outer self as a sunflower. You have a tall, sturdy stalk, that grounds and supports you. And you’re grateful for that. There are many serrated-edged leaves That gather sunlight and make food for you. And you’re grateful for that. And you have an amazing flower head, that’s several inches wide, surrounded by yellow petals. And when people look at it, it makes them smile. And you’re grateful for that. PAUSE Now, imagine feeling your radiance as a sunflower, a confidence and self-assuredness, because you know what you are. And that makes you happy. PAUSE Now, imagine bringing that radiance, confidence, and self-assuredness back to you as yourself. How does that feel? PAUSE Now, breathe, and take a minute  to come back  to being you. PAUSE Draw in another deep breath, and touch your hand to your center. Feel the essence of the sunflower In you. Acknowledge its strength. Acknowledge its confidence. Acknowledge its happiness. And give yourself permission to let those gifts live in your core. PAUSE Now, breathe again. Breathe and feel the sunflower growing in you. And, if ever you have a moment doubting your strength, or doubting your confidence, or doubting your happiness, just touch your center  where your sunflower is, and you’ll know who you really are. PAUSE Continue breathing, And let yourself  feel your body and mind quieting and becoming more focused. PAUSE Now, visualize, if you can, walking into a room with a table at the center. And on the table are sprigs of lavender and a glass bowl with a lotus flower. PAUSE You walk to the table and reach for the lavender. Sitting quietly in a chair, you hold the flower  to you nose and breathe. PAUSE As you breathe in the scent, your mind and body relax. the flower smells light and fresh, with a gentle calming effect. You take some time and indulge in tranquility. PAUSE After a while,  you put the lavender down, and lean over the bowl to smell the lotus. A sweet floral aroma fills your nose, PAUSE As you sit with the scent of the lotus, You feel your consciousness open, as if connecting with the Divine. Take a minute and sit with the Divine. Listen to what message  Spirit wants you to bring to you. PAUSE Now, take a deep breath, and come back to the present. And, as you do, feel yourself carrying the gifts  of the Lavender and the Lotus with you. The gift of calm. The gift of Divine connection. They are yours now forever more. LONG PAUSE Now breathe. Just breathe. and let your mind relax more, while you turn inward. LONG PAUSE As you breathe in and out, you pause and listen,  til you find a gentle rhythm that hums with your body. LONG PAUSE As you focus on the rhythm, imagine the hum beginning to beat like a drum. PAUSE The drum beats slowly  and steadily. Gentle beats tinged with an energy that awakens you from the inside. PAUSE Draw in a breath again and allow your mind to open… Open to seeing the  beautiful, handmade drum of your soul. PAUSE Now, take a moment  to look at the drum, to see your hand reaching out  and touching it, exploring it with curiosity and love. PAUSE And as the drum beats, you observe colors escaping and dancing before you and all around you, Altogether. PAUSE Your soul drum holds rainbows  that light up from within, and mountains that  keep you strong and steady. PAUSE Your soul drum holds the colors of the desert that swirl like sand  all around you, all in you.  PAUSE Your soul drum holds the colors of the ocean,  Blues and greens that  flow by you and in you in rhythmic waves. PAUSE And after a moment, the drumbeat quickens,  ever so slightly, with more colors playing before you,  and playing in you. PAUSE All the colors of life live and breathe in your soul drum…. In you. PAUSE Imagine now that the colors take shape, and that those shapes become people, people dancing to the drum. PAUSE And those people have colors, dancing to the beat, dancing to your soul drum. PAUSE And as the dance goes on, you notice more drums  join in, building energy within you. PAUSE Now imagine, the drums are accompanied by singing in all different languages and shouts of joy. PAUSE And as the drums play, and the people dance and shout for joy, you notice the energy  lifting and awakening you. PAUSE And again,  you draw in a deep breath, while the drums keep playing  and the people keep dancing and the joyful energy moves through you. PAUSE Now, imagine  that the dancers slowly dissolve And the extra drummers fade until you hear just your soul drum again. PAUSE Allow yourself to  draw in a deep breath, and notice that the drumbeat  slowly melts into a hum again. PAUSE And as you listen to the hum, it begins to soften to blur and to slowly evaporate within. PAUSE And as the noises dissolve in you you notice a gift they leave. You feel their energy and life flowing through you. PAUSE Now imagine all the energy  of your soul drum, including all of Mother Nature and all the world’s people, dancing with life within you. PAUSE And as you embrace this energy, see yourself gently opening your eyes and greeting the day  with joy and a smile. PAUSE Breathe. Let each breath deepen your awareness. Let each breath awaken your consciousness. PAUSE Now, pause for a moment, and see if you can imagine sitting on a pier. The sun is shining. You can feel its warmth on your cheeks. A gentle breeze  tussles your hair. And little waves lap against the  pillars of the pier. PAUSE Now, draw in a deep breath, and imagine seeing a fisherman near you. You sit quietly and observe the fisherman. PAUSE As you watch him, the first thing you notice is his silence. He sits serenely, with an abundance of patience, just waiting for a tug on his line. There is peace  in and around him. PAUSE You draw in a breath, and let the peace you see in the fisherman settle in you. PAUSE Then, you notice his gaze. It’s far off and meditative. Like there’s something well beyond his fishing line. You look toward the horizon where the sun and water meet. A calm comes over you. PAUSE After a moment, the fisherman rises. He winds the reel smoothly. It clicks continuously– The only noise in the air– until the line is completely in. Then he hooks on the rod  and packs up. Then softly, gingerly, he leaves the dock. PAUSE Now, take a deep breath, and bring your consciousness back to the present, And, as you do,  bring the tranquility of the fisherman with you. PAUSE Hold onto the peace you feel. Keep it with you  throughout your day. And know that if it begins to slip, just breathe, and go back to the dock, next to the fisherman. And the beautiful peace will return to you. Allow any tension to  just melt away. PAUSE And, as you breathe, see if you can visualize standing out in the rain– a summer rain shower. Let yourself feel the raindrops as they touch your skin. PAUSE And while standing in the rain,  you notice that it gets  harder and loud for a minute. Just let yourself feel it. PAUSE After a moment,  you notice that the rain softens. It barely makes a sound, and just tickles your skin. PAUSE Now, take a deep breath, and imagine  there’s a little wind with the rain, that tilts the rain sideways. You can feel it like tiny pinches to your face. PAUSE Now, take a breath, and as you do, notice the rain softens again. This time, it softens and the sun begins shining through the raindrops. Take a moment and feel the rain and the sun on your face. PAUSE And while feeling The rain and the sun, You notice in the distance A rainbow arching across the sky. Open your heart, and feel the beauty and joy of the rainbow in you. PAUSE Now, breathe again, and find yourself back inside, dry and comfortable and looking out at the rain. PAUSE As you gaze at the rain, allow yourself to ponder how the rain has many facets, just like you. And no matter what type of rain falls, or what facet you are showing the world, there is a purpose. A purpose that guides you like a compass. A purpose that gives you strength. A purpose that you hold near and dear… for always.
