_Beneath Our Feet _is a six-part episodic drama exploring home and belonging, urban regeneration and community ownership. The series follows 5 young people as they attend an underground rave below their estate, the night before it's going to be bulldozed to make way for new-build flats. Whilst at the rave, the ground collapses beneath their feet, and they end up trapped in a vast underground cave network. They have to use their memories of the folklore surrounding the system - passed down through the generations - to navigate their way to safety, through tiny passageways, across underground lakes, and through doors locked by mysterious codes.

Wow, so much energy in a single finale!! Excited to hear there's potentially more to this epic story. Fingers crossed that season 3 drops soon. .
Fantastic podcast, characters and the world they inhabit feel slightly familiar but also completely new. The story blends folk tales, ancient myths, superstitions and religious beliefs from around the world with the main characters also coming from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. My only complaint is the constantly changing sound levels. Conversation decreases to a whisper mid sentence, fighting becomes almost deafening out of nowhere. I spent the entire podcast trying to find a sound level that worked for more than one or two eps. Not sure if it was my device or the actual podcast. Regardless, I'd still recommend this, it's a great listen.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️absolutely love this audio drama
by the way, if you're in the queer audio drama sphere but looking for a show that centers culture and POC desperado is the one for you. it's a hidden gem, and more people need to be listening. each character who gets a names has a surprising amount of depth and initiative, the lore and world building are crafted like nothing else I've seen, and the sound editing will have you itching for more explosions, no matter the consequences. My favorite podcast, I highly recommend.
