Our way of understanding success is skewed. At least according to Jeff Olsen in the book 'The Slight Edge'.  Rather than referencing the repetitive, often gruelling slog it takes for an individual to become exceptional, we tend to mystify the process.  Think of how often we employ the terms 'naturally talented', 'genius' and 'overnight success'. Perhaps it makes us feel better to explain another's rise to excellence by some cosmic gift. However nice it might feel to label your Olympian, entrepreneur, or actor friend as some kind of extra terrestrial entity, it doesn't actually help us pave the way for success in our own lives.  Fortunately, Jeff has the key.  What Jeff points out, is that success is made in the teeniest, tiniest daily decisions. Seemingly so insignificant that it doesn't really matter if you behave for or against your interests, as there's always tomorrow.  The sum of these decisions are most definitely greater than the parts, as over time they gain in traction and volume. Before you know it were 5 years down the line and still no closer to where we want to be as we're waiting for our 'big break'.  The good news is is that the solution is incredibly simple.  This is great news, because you can start to act to day, right now, in your own best interests. Often, the avoidance of taking action causes more suffering than .  In this guided visualisation, we will be tackling procrastination.  We don't procrastinate because we are lazy. We most likely procrastinate out of fear - of failure, judgment, imperfection, scrutiny.  Maybe we feel like an imposter. Procrastination isn't necessarily the lovechild of your 'laziness' or inabilities. It's the result of your brains learnt genius to avoid pain, and preference for pleasure. If, deep down, we feel afraid of failure, of the unknown, of scrutiny, or loss, then our mind will find clever ways of avoiding taking up this task.
