A TURNING in 2024

Excited to share some news for what God has in store for Turn The Hearts podcast in 2024.
Listen as Michael Lombardo, pastor of Awaken Church in Dallas, talks about a side of abortion that’s often overlooked. At 20 years old, after years of running from the Lord, Michael had a life-changing encounter with Jesus. God removed shame and showed him His Love that changed everything. As you listen, your view of God may even change. Michael is a graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas. That’s where he was introduced to overseas missions and a fire was sparked in him that has only grown stronger. Since then, he’s worked with Iris Global, Go to Nations, Stairway Ministries and is a part of the network of Global Awakening.
This episode we sit down with some very seasoned Children's Minister people and friends of ours. Where we share experiences, wisdom and encouragement with you about ministry. Chris and Christina Aguilar have served in a various ministries since 2007, using their creativity and passion to disciple young people. They specialize in leading community outreaches, camps and writing scripts, stories, and curriculum that address the cultural climate today's kids are facing. They attended Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, where they served Kids For The Nations Summer Camps for multiple years. They also led a preteen ministry at CFNI.
Come sit down and listen to a father, David Hartzfeld, share his heart about life, family, learning from those two things and allowing them to enrich your life. David's parent's grew up during World War 2. Later in David's life God sent him to be a missions in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He comes from a family where there has been pastors in each generation since the 1800's. He has learned a lot of beautiful things through a life that has not always been easily, but God. My Father has pastored churches, loved their neighbors, been a missionary, taught many Sunday school classes, but mostly he worked in Seminaries for over 25 years teaching the Old Testament. I am so excited for you guys to hear this mini episode from my Dad, who I have learned so much from, and who I love dearly.
Our guest this episode, Katy Binger, has a passion for kids to learn the gospel in its pure form. She has written a book for parents, grandparents, children’s pastors and whoever else who want kids to learn what Jesus did for us. JJ, my co-host is a BIG FAN of Kay's book. Kathryn has a dynamic history in ministry. She began traveling the world with Jesus Christ at four years old. Kathryn has ministered in Costa Rica, Belize, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, and Austria. She loves leading teams and training up generations to fulfill the call of God upon their lives. Kathryn longs to fulfill the great call of being a laid-down lover of Jesus Christ, no matter the cost.  Katy's heart cry is, “Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus.”
Sandi Beck and her husband Richard have been ministering to babies in the womb for over 6 years. They also own two businesses: Trinity Woodworking and Beck Home Solutions. Many people do not realize how much the time the baby is in the womb matters. The words we speak over them and everything that is going on around them  DOES affect them. We want to let people know about this crucial season. So we can turn our hearts to the unborn and raise a powerful generation.
Sharon Jones shares her testimony about the trials God brought her through, including poverty, bareness, abuse, incurable disease and others, and what she learned. Sharon is an ordained prophetic evangelist, pastor, and teacher. She and her husband, Brad, run a ministry called Wellspring that provides a platform for ministries that are just getting off the ground and funds orphanages, feeding and homeless programs around the world.
Our guest today, Lindsey Bryson, has caught the heart of God for children and women who are being sexually exploited in Dallas, American and around the world. They say 89% of the women working in the sex industry want to leave but see no other means of survival.” Lindsey is the founder of Lovely Ministries. They have a team that reaches to these women so they can encounter the love of God and help them in practical ways. God is using them to make a difference in the city of Dallas, but He is also using them to train ministries in other cities to reach out to these women. We believe God is TURNING THE HEARTS to reach out and love these women that are being exploited around the world, in our cities and in our very own backyards. Tune in, and enjoy listening as two moms sit down with their kids playing the background and talk about this issue. This is real life, uncut and we love it!
Today our guest host, Anita Alvarez, my sister, talks about finding Jesus in solitude and silence. Listen as she talks about the transformation that occurs by learning to practice this spiritual discipline, and she provides practical tips on how to get started.
David Hartzfeld is my Dad. He has been the Dean of Students at Nyack Seminary, Canadian Bible College and Ashland Seminary. My Dad and Mom were also missionaries in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. They have had a full life full of family and ministry. I have watched them go through many things and they have incredible wisdom God has given them though all the ups and downs in life. Aaron (my husband) and I went home for Christmas this past year. We got to sit down with my Dad on night to record an episode. He shared so much wisdom with us that we cherish very much. We got so much contend we are going to work on it for a while, but we wanted to release a little clip. God is turning the hearts of children to the Father's. "A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society." Billy Graham
With a life given to the red-letter text of God’s Word, Jade De Kelaita's heart has been captured by the world’s rejected – the orphan, the widow, the poor, the prisoner, the homeless, the sick, and the forgotten. The presence of God she carries has opened doors for her to speak nationally and internationally in prisons, schools, universities, nursing homes, under bridges, churches, and nations such as Africa, Asia, Central America, UK, and more. She is birthing a “2:6 Movement” in the earth where true disciples are rising up to live out 1 John 2:6. “Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.” Jade shares wisdom she learned from walking "through the darkest valley." When you go through the valley and unexpected places you need to have the word of God inside of you and beside you. 'For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. '- Hebrews 4:12 "With Jesus even in the darkest moments the Best remains and the Very Best is yet to be." Corrie Ten Boom
Time and time again I have witnessed preteens with such a desire for the Lord’s presence and often they will hear direction for their purpose and calling from Him at this age. They are powerful, not embarrassed to be childlike and full of faith. They excel when given the opportunity to step into their fivefold giftings. They have a big yes for the Lord and we can actually learn a lot from them. Preteens are children from 9-12 years old. God is very intentional with this specific age group and we should be too. Sadly the church has little or no vision, or budget for this incredible age group but worldly initiatives are investing billions into targeting this age group because they know if they can influence or keep this age group distracted with their agendas, they will likely have them hooked for the rest of their lives. Pastor Gwynn Enriquez (Diversity Church in Dallas, TX.) started ministering to preteens in 1999 and has had a burning heart for it ever since. Together with her husband, Pastor Miguel, and their children they started a Preteen Gathering that launched with 12 preteens and has grown to over 80 preteens. They started with a "YES" to the Lord and Pastor Gwynn shares how He has provided all the way.
I am so excited about this episode. It is an incredible story of hope, healing, and the church loving and supporting each other. It's a story of a tragedy that God turned into goodness and blessing. Like Joseph said in Genesis 50:20, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. " Shelby's story is incredible and I believe it will bless many lives. Shelby Slaughter is the Children’s Ministry Director at UPPERROOM. Previously in Los Angeles, California, she and her husband Nathan were full-time missionaries with One Voice Student Missions. They relocated to UPPERROOM in 2020. Nathan & Shelby have 5 incredible children. They have a heart for family and to see children transformed by the presence of Jesus. Email: sslaughter@uroom.org
My sister, Anita, joins in a follow-up podcast to talk about her encounter with God at a deeper level. She talks about how we can position ourselves when God is moving and offers wisdom on how to respond when he moves even in the smallest way towards us. Whether it's a big or small encounter, when you feel Him move, TURN and look. "The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not being consumed. So Moses said, “I must TURN aside and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burning up!” When the Lord saw that he TURNED aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”" Exodus 3:2-5 Anita is the owner of The Copy Grind, where she uses copywriting to help businesses create effective brand messaging. She is also the Gather Groups Overseer at Bethel Cleveland.
One of the greatest gifts you can give someone is for them to know they can hear God's voice, they can talk to him, and He loves them. Now more than ever it’s important for us to be intentional about disciplining this next generation. We need to teach children how to pray. God gave me a simple, creative way to teach kids to pray that’s easy to learn. I’ve taught the method at Kids for the Nations summer camps and with my own daughter. I’ve noticed my daughter has grown so much in prayer, and I am seeing fruit. I pray this blesses you and that you share it with many kids!
Our guest this episode, Nichole Jackson, has a passion to see children thrive and become who they were created to be. She saw the challenges going on in public schools and desired to be part of the solution. Her church, Storehouse Dallas, started a school for children called Comenius. Now, Nichole is the Children's Pastor at Storehouse Dallas Church and director of the school. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's of Education in Counseling. We believe God is TURNING THE HEARTS to the schools all around the world and to bring the light of Jesus to children, instead of the world's agenda. Tune in, and enjoy listening as two moms sit down with their kids and talk about what God is doing in schools. This is real life & uncut. If you have been praying about starting a school,  you are interested in starting a school or have been trying to start a school  you can reach out to Nichole.  She is willing to help and give you guys some wisdom. Here is an email you can reach her at info@cscldallas.com
This is  one of my favorite episode with Nikolai and Michelle Stefanov. They are the founders and president of Global Impact Network.  This amazing couple saw the need to equip the children in Bulgaria.  So they prayed, heard God, sacrificed, gave and obeyed to plan and set up the Children’s Pastor Conferences in Bulgaria. The Heart of this Father was turned towards the children in Bulgaria. Not only that, he has an incredible legacy .  Nikolai's grew up in communism. He shares an incredible generational testimony from his grandfather, to his father, to him. Plus Michelle has an incredible Father as well.  I believe these generational blessing planted seeds to what is now growing in kids ministries all over Bulgaria today.  Global Impact Network's passion is to deliver meaningful transformation by empowering, connecting and equipping leaders and organizations, Kingdom investors and service providers. Their vision is to Empower, Connect, and Equip. They desire to be a bridge that connects leaders and organizations with resources and others who are like-minded. This is good soil to sow into.  If you'd like to give or support Global Impact Network the link is https://give.cornerstone.cc/globalimpactnetwork

I felt like the Lord wanted me to share with you something He put on my heart 4 years ago and has kept growing.  It is a very special word near and dear to my heart.  I pray it blesses you and sets your heart on fire. #TurnTheHearts
Today's guest is my friend, Katy Binger. Katy shares testimonies of God providing for the kids she works with in South Dallas. Katy works at Christ for the Nations Bible Institute and is the elementary children's pastor at Trinity Fairmeadows Church in Dallas, Texas. She works with kids in Dallas living in Section 8 government housing. Some of them wear the same shoes for years. They have a lot of needs and struggles, and they need God to show up. God has time and time again shown up for these children because He loves them and wants them to know He is real and He cares for them. Katy also has a dynamic history in ministry from a very early age, when she began traveling the world at four years old. She has ministered in Costa Rica, Belize, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bulgaria, and many nations to come. She loves leading teams and training up generations to fulfill the call of God upon their lives. I would love to raise money to see her kids get new shows and jackets this winter.  In the past they have always bought Christmas presents for 80-100 kids in their neighborhood but lost their funding this year. They through a Christmas party and invite the kids and their parents. At the Christmas party they have games, prize and share the gospel.  I would love to see Trinity Fairmeadows be able to through this Christmas party for these kids and their families.  I will put the link below and Katy give instructions at the end of the podcast on how to give.   You can also find the link to give on our Instagram called turn_the_hearts Thanks for listening and remember- "Never forget the poor."
