As we kick off this summer season, I plan on being super intentional with my time; being present with my family, enjoying the small moments, and focusing on my mental, physical and emotional health. After coming out of the fog of my first trimester of this pregnancy, I’m ready to kick off the summer with these 6 habits that will help me reach my personal and professional goals and create a life that I love!  As you listen to this episode, I challenge you to take a hard look at what YOU need in this season. Not what anyone else is doing. Not what you think you SHOULD be doing. Not what you did last year. But YOU. Right now. In this season.  In this episode, we cover:  The 6 habits I’m focusing on this summer An explanation of what my YouDoYou82 challenge is and how it can change your life The importance of living in the small moments  The impact of proving we can keep promises to ourselves  How progress over perfection teaches you to change your life in a sustainable way Resources & Links: Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! On today’s episode, I am joined by Kayla Zenner as she shares her inspiring story of replacing her income and finding alignment. Kayla has become such a dear friend to me through masterminds and 1:1 coaching over the last six months and I know her story will resonate with many women in this community. We dive into what it looks like to leave a career you love, replace your income from home, build an intentional life, step outside the norm, and continue to reiterate to gain alignment and clarity.  Kayla Zenner is a farm wife and mom of two who took a step away from teaching to focus on her family. Along the way she found a creative outlet in cooking and baking and wanted to share that passion with others. Between running a home bakery and teaching others to enjoy the process of baking and cooking she has a growing garden and chickens.  In this episode, we cover:  Defining what your definition of freedom and success looks like Just because you CAN do something or just because you’re GOOD at something, doesn’t mean it's good for you  Working through the fear of thinking you’re letting someone else down or the judgment of others  The power of going in 100% and how much you can achieve when you fully commit  How coaching and masterminds have helped Kayla gain clarity and community  Resources & Links: Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! You all know how strongly I believe that you have the capability to bring any goal or dream to life. As I reflect on what I’ve learned over the past several months of my healing journey, I’ve come to realize my own attachment between achievement and worthiness, productivity and feeling like enough. I’ve been doing a lot of intentional work on untangling these ideas within myself and I’ve noticed how many others have their own version of this as well. In today’s episode, I share my thoughts on the confusing intersection between chasing and content. In this episode, we cover:  Being aware of where your goals are coming from and what your motivations are behind them Accepting that multiple things can be true at one time The comparison trap of social media How goals can work alongside the vision you have for your overall life Resources & Links: Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! On today’s episode, I have the joy of chatting with my friend, Annaliese Wegner about embracing your changing roles on and off the farm. As women, specifically women in Ag, our roles change as we continue to grow and evolve. Often with each change there can be a period of uncertainty and we adjust to what each role and season has to offer.  Annaliese is a Wisconsin girl, dairy farmer, wife and twin mom. You might know her as Modern-day Farm Chick. Annaliese has been sharing her story online for the past 11ish years in order to help connect people to their farmer. Through social media, mastermind events and her speaking, Annaliese encourages other women in agriculture to share their unique story.  In this episode, we cover:  Her story and transition from growing up on her family farm to moving to her husband’s family farm Defining a Modern-day Farm Chick  The importance of trying new things and being open to opportunities that present themselves The power of focusing on your unique strengths and what lights you up  How to help yourself when you find yourself in the comparison trap of social media Tips for hosting an in-person event  Resources & Links: Finish by Jon Acuff [affiliate link] Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! It’s officially planting season in our neck of the woods. I don’t know about you, but that means our family’s schedule gets turned upside down, sometimes for weeks on end. If you’re a farm wife, busy season might look different depending on your location, operation, or your role. If you’re not in agriculture, there may be a different time of year that looks extra chaotic compared to others. In today’s episode, I’m going to share the things I’ve learned on how to navigate busy seasons, such as planting and harvest, as a farm wife.  Even when I know it’s coming and what to expect, it can still be a lot. To be honest, sometimes it’s downright HARD. Thankfully, over the past seven years of living on the farm, I’ve come to understand what I can do to set myself up for success. I hope there’s a nugget or two in this conversation that will help you and your family on your own journey!  My top tips for how to navigate busy seasons as a farm wife: You don’t have to sit at home… go out and DO!  Find a community that understands what you’re going through YOU get to decide what this looks like; let go of the expectations of others  It’s okay to adjust your expectations in this season  Keep a positive mindset  Remembering that this too shall pass!  Resources & Links: Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! On today’s episode, I am joined by my friend, Lou Bluth! Throughout her lifetime, Lou has been on quite the journey from growing up in Texas to meeting a red bearded farmer at college in Utah to getting established in a whole new world on a Mormon colony in Mexico and eventually finding freedom as a family by living as their authentic selves.  Lou and her husband, Bronson, have been on a journey of asking questions, personal and spiritual growth, and breaking outside of the norm to find freedom and fulfillment.  I have LOVED watching Lou’s journey unfold and know that you’ll be inspired by the knowledge, passion, and curiosity that she has to offer. She is truly a unique light in this world and I’m beyond grateful to bring this conversation to you! Lou Bluth is a wild, free, and curious farmwife on a soul journey of discovery. In today’s episode, I’m going to dive into a topic that has come up NUMEROUS times lately for both myself and amongst many other women in my life. Today is an opportunity for me to ask you, “are your goals what you actually want?” So often we latch onto a goal because we think it sounds good or we think it’s something we should achieve. But does that goal actually align with your values and what you want your everyday reality to look like? In this episode, we cover:  What is your definition of success?  The potential misalignment between what our goals are and our desired life Putting blinders on the what you think you “should” do and really digging deep into what makes sense for you and your life Resources & Links: The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan & Dr. Benjamin Hardy [affiliate link] Learn more about ASCEND retreats and get on my email list to get all the updates! Today we’re digging into some things to keep in mind, and mindset shifts to make, as you pursue big goals in a small town. I recently asked my instagram audience about their biggest struggles as a small town dreamer and unsurprisingly, soooo many women shared nearly identical pain points. Whether you’re expanding the farm, building a business, starting to share online, beginning a health journey, jump starting a fundraiser - whatever it is - the struggles were similar all across the board. Between the weight of expectations, opinions of other people, fear of judgment, and not having support from family and friends, these things are felt collectively and can make a huge impact on the way we show up and pursue the dreams on our heart.  In today’s episode, I’m going to share a few things to consider, offer a different perspective, and some mindset shifts to hopefully encourage you to keep going and to also make sure you know you aren’t alone.   In this episode, we cover:  The importance of surrounding yourself with community  Being mindful of whose opinions you’re letting matter Getting confident in what you’re in pursuit of Why YOU are a leader in your small town A glimpse into my first experience of EMDR therapy Resources & Links: Join us at the ASCEND Retreat! Today’s guest, Emily Shaw, and I have been social media friends for a few years so bringing her on the podcast today felt extra fun and special! Our conversation was sparked by an instagram post about 5 strategies to create better habits. As I scrolled through the post nodding along, I knew we had to create this episode to share with you! I hope you find this topic and conversation as valuable as I do!     Dairy Girl Fitness was created almost five years ago as Emily's way to show others that you don't need to cut dairy and other animal products out of your diet to be “healthy.” She wants to encourage women to make their health a priority, and show that it doesn't have to be extreme or confusing.
