In this episode, we explore three important topics that can have a profound impact on our emotional and spiritual wellbeing: Separation from God Changing People Power of Forgiveness. We dive into scripture to examine the difference between being separated from God's love and being separated from His presence as a consequence of our sins. We also discuss the idea that we cannot change others, but we can control our own responses and rely on prayer to invite God's influence. Finally, we explore the importance of forgiveness in our healing journey, as it is commanded and expected by God, and is critical to our relationship with Him as well as our own personal growth. Join me as we unpack these complex topics and discover key takeaways for our own lives. In this breakthrough episode, I'll share the value of thinking beyond ourselves and how that will help you live in God’s will. If you want to live above the fray (without having to live in discontentment), this is for you! In this video, you'll discover: As Believers We Are More Than Here And Now. We are part of the Kingdom of God which has and will exist eternally. The Holy Spirit lives in us, guiding us, correcting us, teaching us... and He was there at the beginning, before there was light. Scripture says before God spoke the worlds into existence, He knew us. Our plan, our design, our journey was planned and perfected in the mind of Almighty God before He ever said “Let there be light!” What We Do Now Matters In Eternity Everything we do now has ramifications for us and others throughout our lives and into eternity Our decision to accept Christ as Lord and Savior is of the utmost importance. Living for Him, in His will is part of that. Example: the bully in 5th - 9th grade held me captive till age 55 When we share Jesus with others, their lives and the lives of those they reach will be changed for the best. When we don’t share Jesus with others, their lives and the lives of those they could reach may not be changed for the best Our choices now matter forever - good or bad. We just need to choose more good. Eternal Thinking Keeps Us Above The Fray It is EASY to get bogged down in the situations we see and join in the world’s fear, anxiety, and anger about it all. We can easily add to the noise of the circumstances. As believers, we are called to step up above that by thinking eternally. What should my response be according to God? As the book “In His Steps” taught, we should think, What Would Jesus Do (from the book In His Steps by Charles Sheldon)? (In today’s world, we might add, “What would Jesus post or share?”) We get to walk with Christ in heavenly places right now, IF we choose to join Him there. He sees all that is going on from a heavenly perspective, from the perspective of the end looking back. If we get noonday-shadow close to Him, we’ll see more of that, too. My biggest takeaways for you from this video are: We are more than the here and now. What we do now matters in eternity. Eternal thinking keeps us above the fray. Today's podcast is from a video I did, discussing the foundations of purpose.  In this episode, you'll discover:  You Are Uniquely Created By The Unequaled God Jeremiah 1:5, Psalms 139:16 God knew every day of your life before you were even a twinkle in your mama’s eyes.  You Were Designed For A Specific Purpose He created you for a reason, a purpose, a life that only you can live God’s plan for all of mankind was birthed before He spoke anything into existence. That includes you. Psalms 139:13-15, Exodus 36:2 People were gifted by the Lord for the express purpose of building the Tabernacle 2 Corinthians 8:7  You Haven't Derailed Your Purpose We feel like we’ve missed the boat! God gave you a purpose, a plan, something to accomplish and He designed you specifically unique for that. Your divorce didn’t disqualify you, your addiction didn’t disqualify you, your straying from God didn’t disqualify you. Delay perhaps. Disqualify, no. God is waiting for you to recognize that you have a purpose and then get moving in that purpose. If you have sin/wrongdoing in your life, confess it and turn away from it. If you need to learn about how to do what you’re called to do, learn! In this episode, we explore anger and whether it is sin. Is anger inherently sinful, or is it simply a natural emotion that we all experience?  We delve into the question of what we can do about our anger when it arises. How can we manage our emotions in a healthy and constructive way, rather than letting them control us and potentially leading to harmful behavior? I hope to provide listeners with a greater understanding of anger and how to manage it in a way that aligns with their values and beliefs. Whether you are looking to gain insight into your own anger or simply want to learn more about this complex emotion, this episode has something for everyone. Your REAL Safe Space

Your REAL Safe Space

2023-02-2105:40

We hear a lot about safe spaces today, places where nothing is going to trigger us or make us feel sad, bad, or scared. We can count on our school or workplace to provide that safe space for us or we can find and develop our own.  Today we're talking about our true safe space, the refuge from all the chaos of life that we can't handle. We're going to sing and dance as we learn of God's goodness.   But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. What does it look like if we live like we believe the Word? Will the world notice? Will it make a difference? Let's think about what these words mean to us today and how we can apply them as we live forward. Today we're talking about God’s love and mercy - never ending and new every single day.   The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Today we're talking about how living water flows from believers and how that is the opposite of a toxic person.   Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ John 7:38   What does it look like if we live like we believe the Word? Will the world notice? Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:7 Looking at the scripture and applying it to real life helps us walk as Christians in the world.  Today, we're talking about not being overly impressed with our own thoughts and wisdom and instead choosing to follow God's wisdom to recognize and turn away from evil. What is contentment? What effect should our circumstances have on our contentment? What comparison does to our contentment. You can step away from your disappointed discontent into peaceful joy and satisfaction without feeling like you’re losing out. You’re not losing out. You’re trading what’s okay for what’s amazing. We ALL do it!

We ALL do it!

2023-01-1020:23

We All Judge. We all Feel Judged.   We all want the people we see to be like God  They are not God. They can't be Him.  We are not God. We can't be Him.  We, and the people around us are fallible humans, prone to say stupid, hurtful things. Still we expect them (and us) to say the right things at the right time for the right reasons. But even that is subjective. “Right” according to whom?  Favoritism Is UNscriptural. James 2:1-13 talks explicitly about judgement and discrimination.  When we treat someone as less than ourselves, we are wrong.  It's All About R E S P E C T -- A Choice  God expects us to respect every human being on this planet, period. PERIOD. No matter what.  We MUST make the choice in our every day to view every person we see as a beautiful image of God, deemed worthy by HIM of the greatest sacrifice of all time. Just like us.  So, how should a Christian move forward from here?  Recognize we all judge. We all feel judged.  Understand we all want the people we see to be like God, but they are not.  Accept that favoritism and judgment is UNscriptural  Agree that it's all about R E S P E C T ... a choice.  Connect with me: Facebook Twitter Instagram Website
Hey, Christian! You can experience mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness without having to take any extra medicine! Let's look at the benefits of expressing gratitude. In this episode, I mention Ann Voskamp's book, 1001 Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Where You Are. It is worth the investment of time and money to become intentional about a gratitude habit. Why do you praise God?

Why do you praise God?

2022-12-2705:47

Today, we're talking about why we praise God.   O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.  Isaiah 25:1   Connect with me: Facebook Twitter Instagram Website
Looking back at how Louise and Elaina of the Grandma, Mom, and Me Saga prepared for Christmas compared to what we do today. Better? Worse? Different. The times were hard. Money was tight. Gifts were few. And yet those were some of the happiest Christmases ever. Why is that? Christmas is not about what other people say you should be and do. We will enjoy it more, have less anxiety about, and feel less stress when we become intentional about why we celebrate Christmas. Connect with me: Facebook Twitter Instagram Website
Truth about anger: 1. Anger is not sin. It’s what we let it do to us that is. 2. Anger destroys us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. 3. Anger must be dealt with properly. 4. You can start today. I can help. Scriptural ways to deal with anger: Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir it up. Colossians 3:8 …put them all aside, anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth Proverbs 16:32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who captures a city. (It’s a big deal!) James 1:19 Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Connect with me: Facebook Twitter Instagram Website

"There is nothing prettier in you than confidence in God." Looking at the lives of the main characters in Faye's novels, Louise and Elaina, we can see that they suffered significant loss and betrayal, yet remained filled with hope. How can that happen?  Looking at scripture, we find the definition of hope and how to live hopeful and confidently alive every single day.  What does it look like if we live like we believe the Word? Will the world notice? Will it make a difference? Let's think about what these words mean to us today and how we can apply them as we live forward. Connect with me: Facebook Twitter Instagram Website
