Description

I’m spilling the tea on my silent battle with depression since 1997. From becoming a party girl to cope with my pain, living in a body secretly that was falling apart mentally & physically, overcoming 8 surgeries in 20 years to now living in a pain-free body, a wife, mom of two, and CEO of multiple thriving businesses!

I'm here to be that voice, the person for you I never had to help me as I silently struggled while wearing a smile, telling everyone "I'm fine" and desperately trying to convince myself too.

You're not alone; you deserve better. I'll be your guide to stepping into your SP Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/susie-bower/support

Do you have a fear that is so paralyzing that it stops you from living your life? It's taken me over 5 years to work on my fear. This was an emotional episode for me to record because of how deeply my fear removed me from my family and kept me from sharing such special memories with my family. I finally decided I was no longer going to sit and watch. My biggest improvement and realization happened during a transformative breathwork session. For the first time, I realized the impact of what this trip meant for me and overcoming my fear. I'm still a work in progress, but fear will no longer hold me back. I want to help you have this same feeling. It's powerful, and I know you can do this too! In today's episode, I want to share four behaviors of people with high functioning depression. Many people think depression has to look a certain way, truth is, depression has many faces. For some, we are in complete denial that we are depressed because we are able to get out of bed, we aren't crying all day, etc. That my friend is high functioning depression. If you found today's episode helpful, please share it with others. If my words resonate with you, know that you are not alone and there is nothing wrong with you. Becoming self aware is the first step. It's funny how life has a way of happening, where all the pieces just fall into place in the most unexpected ways! I couldn't keep this exciting news to myself anymore, so today's podcast episode isn't a typical one. I'm sharing something new and exciting coming up, where I am able to dive a little deeper than I would on a podcast episode and still provide you with possible breakthrough moments, and actionable steps you can take from the information I share and begin to make a difference in your life. You can check out the miniseries topics I currently have lined up and if you have any suggestions on something you'd like for me to take a deeper dive into, I'd love to hear your feedback. From THIS LINK you can get added to the waitlist where I will send the link to join the live event online. Don't worry, if you miss it, you can request a link for the replay. I will also be including a blog post to go a little deeper into the experiment I am referring to in this podcast episode. The link will be posted here when it is uploaded. I hope you are as excited as I am about this new masterclass miniseries! One of the worst feelings in the world is feeling like you are not good enough. I'm all too familiar with this, it seriously plagued me for most of my adult life and if I'm being honest, it still creeps up every now and again. Fortunately, I have learned how to put the smack down on this and I want to share some of the things that have been helpful for me. Oh, and if you're like me and love writing with pen and paper, but don't love the stacks of notebooks that you accumulate, this is the erasable notebook I was talking about that I use and love - Rocketbook They also make a daily/weekly/monthly calendar notebook that is quite handy too! I hope you enjoyed this episode as much I I did recording it. I'd love it if you could share your feedback and/or takeaways on my Instagram post about feeling not good enough. Please share this with others if you found it helpful and if you haven't already, please follow/subscribe so you never miss an episode! Thank you so much for listening, I truly appreciate your love and support as I figure out the whole podcaster world! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/susie-bower/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/susie-bower/support
Today's episode is about self-acceptance. We'll get into how the cycle of negative behaviors and thought patterns start, bring awareness to some of the negative aspects in our thoughts we might not even realize exist, and 5 simple steps to begin to identify elements needed to start the path to self-acceptance. I also want to share some resources I found helpful on my journey, hopefully, they help you too. This worksheet comes from Colin Tipping at RadicalForgiveness.com and I found it very a insightful way to work towards forgiving and accepting yourself. It has 22 sections in this worksheet, I found it very comprehensive and helpful. http://www.radicalforgiveness.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Self-Forgiveness-Self-Acceptance-Worksheet.pdf The next worksheet comes from the Self-Esteem Experts (Susyn Reeve and Joan Breiner) and will help you identify your core beliefs, and realize where they came from, which is an important step in getting to know and accepting yourself. Be warned - it might get messy and bring out some tears, but it will be worth it. http://www.self-esteem-experts.com/support-files/self-esteem-worksheet-1.pdf When you finish these two and possibly are looking for more - I have so many other very powerful worksheets I'd love to share with you, so please reach out on IG ( @imfine_butmydepressionisnt ) and I will send you the links.  I would also like to gift you a complimentary Action Call with me. Don't worry, it's not a sales call, I genuinely want to help you find a solution and lighten the burden you may be carrying. There are two parts to confirm your call - first, you will need to pick a time to chat and then complete the focus form so we can maximize our time together. I look forward to chatting with you! If you enjoyed this episode and know someone else who would, please share it with them, this will help the podcast organically grow and be shared with others looking for this type of content. I'm not for everyone. I know that and I am okay with it.  I don't like my time being wasted and I certainly don't want to waste yours. That's why this is Episode 0 - I wanted to give you a little background on who I am and why this podcast means so much for me to share.  Just like me, this podcast won't be for everyone. I want to make sure I am providing value for you. If you are a mom and/or a wife, there will be value here. If you are facing surgery or recovering from surgery, you will absolutely get value from this podcast. If you have been through or are currently going through negative self-talk, body image issues, are constantly on a diet, struggle with self-neglect, overwhelm, or want to be a role model and make a positive impact on your kids but are not sure how, think you might have breast implant illness - or have implants and have never heard of breast implant illness, or you act like a different person around certain people, always saying yes to others when you want to say no, feel uncomfortable being naked in front of your spouse, don't know who or what to believe when it comes to "health", out of touch with your body, don't know how to sit with your feelings and emotions, constantly giving to other people and doing nothing for yourself - if you are not the number one priority in your life - THIS is the podcast for you! With that said - if you are offended and completely turned off by explicit language - I'm not your girl. Turn this off now. I cannot promise you every episode will be "clean". What I can promise is that I get passionate and words flow and I refuse to change who I am to make others comfortable. I did that for too many years of my life. I am very confident and proud of the woman I have grown into and not ashamed of my mouth. This podcast is about my experiences and journey through life. I share it openly with you in hopes that I can be someone who can be there when you feel alone.  I am not a doctor or a therapist, I've just been through a lot and I'm still here to talk about it. I am grateful in my almost 25 years of work I have been able to help hundreds of other women realize they are not alone and be a guide to get them over the obstacles standing in their way.  I hope you enjoy it and I can bring value into your life! If you do find value here, please share this podcast with someone you think would also enjoy it, and if you have not already, hit that follow/subscribe button so you never miss an episode.
