Description

Another Prank Call Show followed the adventures of King Richard as he made the world a better place one prank phone call at a time. APCS ran for seven years, concluding in June 2025. Shortly after the final episode, King Richard disappeared from sight, sound, and the world as we think we know it. He was reportedly last seen wandering in the forest near a grove of sycamore trees, and no trace of him has been found since. Local camping enthusiasts claim that at night, in the dark trees during breezy conditions, you can hear the faint rings of a telephone, followed by the soft voice of a man claiming to be with the homeowners association. The entire APCS archive is available at anotherprankcallshow.com and archive.org/details/anotherprankcallshow.

Another Prank Call Show: Episode 14856. In this episode, Richard makes one final attempt to demonstrate that you can't go home again, especially when your home is now the property of Amazon. From California to Florida, Texas to New York, all over the USA and north into Canada, Richard has fulfilled his mission to make the world a better place. How did he do this by focusing only on North America? Look, whatever, Richard isn't a planetary physicist. He's a mischievous idiot with time to waste and an internet phone thing. What is it called? Seven years later, I still don't understand the technology behind the show. But this isn't about me, it's about Richard. He's not me. I'm someone else. Anyway, wow, seven years. Just like TNG and DS9. And yeah, Voyager also ran seven years, but no one in this quadrant cares about that show. Why am I talking about Star Trek instead of APCS? For one, no one really reads these show descriptions. And for two, no one really reads these show descriptions. I think I've proved my point. Look, if you are reading this, I'm not sure we have much in common. The world the way it is, and you're over there reading a prank call podcast episode description. I can't believe people like you exist. Okay, that was harsh. I have no issue with you personally. But if you represent the majority, society is finished. I wonder what the next dominant species on the planet will be. My money is on the dolphins. They're extremely intelligent, and can be very cute. Cuteness is important. You have to look good on camera or you'll never be in contention. Well, it's getting late, the studio equipment is packed, there's nothing much left to say. Quiet contemplation can be very enriching. And if the quiet becomes too much, you can always go back and listen to the last seven years of this silly show, over and over, like an unending dream. Silencio. This episode is dedicated to David Lynch and the wonderfully weird worlds he created. Thank you to my friend chrispy808 for being the "voice from another place", and making this episode wild at heart and weird on top. Thank you to my friend rhonk for hosting the APCS archive. Your low level tech skills are appreciated. My thanks to Rusty for creating the character of Papaw Maloney, and not taking me to court when I brazenly stole the name for the show. I assume Mike talked him out of it, so thanks to him as well. The Papaw pranks are some of my very favorite. Everyone subscribe to Snow in Southtown! A very heartfelt thank you to Vista Blue for contributing some really kick ass songs to APCS over the years, including the three new tracks in this episode. Vista Blue making music for APCS was really something special. My deepest gratitude and love to Olga for always being patient while I toiled away in the studio. Whether I was failing and miserable, or succeeding and grinning like an idiot, she was with me every step of the way. And thank you, dear listeners. Without your laughter, emails, voicemails, and death threats, this all would have been slightly less fun for me. You're the best. This episode includes numerous pieces of music and ambient sound. Another Prank Call Show: Episode 999. In this episode Richard defies middle age by engaging once more in comedic irrelevancy. In a world where Amazon offers health insurance, Walmart employees wear body cameras, and trash covers everything from Mount Everest to the Mariana Trench, Richard refuses to surrender to the notion that life is a prank. Instead he soldiers on with prank call premises that are perhaps slightly less absurd than reality has become, but somehow even stupider. Is this new episode worth the wait? Should Richard have let this show recede into the dustbin of history, like his hairline, health, and positive view of the world? Perhaps these questions will linger, unanswered, for all time. Or at least until the grid goes down and APCS finally, blessedly, vanishes forever.
