Description
This podcast is just about a Librarian talking about the life of a full time working mom with kids and a husband. I mean, sounds boring, but it's actually quite entertaining! I'm not your average Librarian that you think about with glasses and a bun on top. I'm more of the kind who dances, sings, acts, and more, all while doing my side job as a human taxi for my kids! Take a listen!

Being an educator and a parent can be a good thing and a bad thing. For one we overanalyze our own kids because we “know the signs”, and then we harass the school because we know what’s right. LOL!! Either way you look at it, we just want the best for our kids.

This episode is me honestly just speaking freely on the many things we’ve done this summer and why I chose to keep us busy.
I talk about my recent trip to the cabin, which was a Christian camp with my church. We experienced some racial comments that were said in a way that continues to validate that we as “Blacks” will be forever judged by our skin. We are never judged positively but stereotypically. (Disclaimer: the camp was a great experience spiritually, we just as a people have a long way to go for growth.)
I also discuss a book I just finished by Frederick Joseph (which took me a long time because of life:)), called The Black Friend: How to be a better white person. I said the name incorrect in the broadcast and I apologize, however, it’s a good read. Go get it!
Parenting teenagers will make you rethink your whole reason for being a parent. What are some go’s and no’s for you with your teenagers? Tune in to me discuss an article and show that had me thinking about if what I am doing as a parent to teenagers, “Am I on the right track?”.

This is a topic that has been discussed on a couple of social media pages, and has caused an uproar. Listen in to hear my thoughts and opinions if you will. Ha!

So we are hitting our 11th year anniversary this Saturday and Barry has me on the hot seats with some questions on marriage. There’s actually a correction to one comment and that is, we dated for 3 years and together for 14 years! I knew it felt like forever (LOL). Listen to my response to one of his questions, “How many times a week should you have sex?”. Yea, he got real!
So this week has been one that is for the books! I mean we never would’ve thought we’d see the day where we see snow, and definitely didn’t think we have to live without power and water for days. However, that’s just want has happened this week in Texas. This show is my family and I sitting in the loving expressing how we felt about everything. Take a listen.
As new moms AND dads, there’s a lot that the books and tv don’t show you about being new parents! Each situation is different and we all handle stress in different ways. However, you want to make sure that you have the support you need and take the help that’s out there for you. Parenting a isn’t easy, and being new parents comes with its ups and downs. I speak about those who maybe going through or know someone who has gone through postpartum depression. Get to know some signs and symptoms and know when to seek medical attention. I should add, I’m no doctor of course and simply offering unsolicited advice to help those who may not know. Always ask your doctor when you are going through any of the signs or symptoms mentioned.
