Our Ministers consider it a profound privilege and responsibility to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12). This means helping us discover again and again what it means to be a community of grace-sustained image-bearers of the Creator, sent out into a broken world that’s just waiting to be made whole again.

John's Gospel doesn't begin with a temptation story; instead, it opens Jesus' ministry with a wedding miracle. It may feel a bit lavish to start the season of Lent with a wedding banquet, but the good news begins with joy. This week we focus on the subversive and playful nature of the good news. The kin-dom of heaven is so good it should catch us by surprise! Like a mustard seed, the good news can grow from the smallest seed into the tallest tree. Like an unruly weed, or fine wine saved for last, the good news is abundant and cannot be contained. As we sink into Jesus’ teachings throughout the season, we may not always be comfortable, but we can trust that these teachings are good, rooted in love, and worthy of celebration. This message was lead by The Reverend Jacquelyn Foxall at Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville, Ontario, on this 1st SUNDAY in LENT February 22th, 2026 . Associated Scripture: John 2:1-11 & Matthew 13:31-32

Every year we hear this story before we enter Lent: Jesus gets all shiny on the mountain, guest appearances by Moses and Elijah, and the disciples are amazed... But what if it's not the vision we thought it was? What if it's less "Jesus Christ Superstar meets Super Bowl Sunday" and more Jesus choosing the bleached white of a martyr's robe before setting his face to Jerusalem one last time? The hint is in the interaction he has with the disciples, and especially Peter, just before the moment of Transfiguration. This messiah and his message has never been about being bigger, better, stronger, faster... it's always been about taking up one's cross. Looks can be deceiving, especially in the life of discipleship. Which is why the best, most fundamental and transformative, message of the Transfiguration story is found in God's own words: "This is my Son. The Beloved. LISTEN to him." Welcome to the season of Lent. Let us prepare ourselves to listen. This message was lead by The Reverend Jacquelyn Foxall at Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville, Ontario, on this TRANSFIGURATION SUNDAY February 15th, 2026 . Associated Scripture: Mark 8:27-9:8
Both healing stories today fail to fit into our general knowledge base and understanding for stories of miracles and signs. There is no laying on of hands, special prayers, potions, incantations, or prescriptions. Simply: "Go, your son will live" and "Get up, take your mat, and walk". Sometimes stories of healing, and wholeness feel less like a strategic plan and more like an edge case. The throughline is the commitment to trusting Jesus at his word, letting go of control (our own, or the control we find in systems we've built), in order to "be still and know that I AM God" (Ps. 46:10).This message from The Rev. Jacqui Foxall was preached on February 8th, 2026 at Knox Presbyterian Church, Oakville.Associated Scripture: John 4:46-54 & 5:1-13
Last week Jesus was engaged in a late-night chat with Nicodemus, a Pharisee. From that conversation we get these famous and beloved verses: John 3:16-17. It's interesting that right after Jesus explains how it is that God loves the world (despite it seeming to have fallen on deaf ears), he announces to his disciples that he HAS to walk through Samaria. Enemy territory. The well trod path for Jewish folk at the time was around Samaria - even going so far as to cross the Jordan River and back, in order to go from Judea in the south to Galilee in the north. But Jesus was resolute: He HAD to go through Samaria. Why? Because he needed to SHOW us what the words from John 3:16-17 actually meant. It means moving toward people, all people, even the ones deemed our enemies. In THIS way God loves the world, and Jesus has come to show us how to walk that talk. This message from The Rev. Jacqui Foxall was preached on February 1, 2026 at Knox Presbyterian Church, Oakville.

According to only the 2nd chapter of John's gospel, Jesus has picked up a handful of disciples and has set out on the road to start his mission and ministry... when he winds up at a Wedding in Cana. Such a pitstop might be mistaken for an annoying blip in the plan, but what if it was exactly the kind of event that will position Jesus and his followers to remember what it's all going to be for? American author, media pundit, journalist, and activist, Dan Savage, famously said: “During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for.” What if the Wedding at Cana, was an intentional first step in Jesus' ministry? Why might it matter that turning water into wine was his first sign of glory? What does all of this mean for you and I today? Let's find out. This message was lead by The Reverend Jacquelyn Foxall at Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville, Ontario, on this 1st Sunday after EPIPHANY January 11th, 2026. Associated Scripture: John 2:1-11
Epiphanies are not always warm or personal.Sometimes they are disruptive, even dangerous.Sometimes they lead to confrontation with empire.Sometimes they ask us to cross borders.Sometimes they send us home by another way.And always, they ask something of us:Will we move the way fear makes us move?Or will we move the way love calls us to?This message was lead by The Reverend Jacquelyn Foxall at Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville, Ontario, on this EPIPHANY Sunday January 4th, 2026. Associated Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12, 16-18
