When faced with circumstances we can’t control, there is a weight to waiting. At times it is imperceptible, light as a feather. Other times, the weight is so heavy it can be paralyzing.
Waiting without hope, without faith is tremendously difficult.
Your waiting is not in vain. That is the great Advent message.
This week's episode includes a Blessing for Those Who Wait.

Sometimes, we learn unlikely lessons about God in the midst of everyday life. This happened recently and I think you'll agree, we can learn a lot about watching, waiting, and being prepared.
In this episode, I mention a Self-Paced Advent retreat that I am hosting for my paid Substack subscribers. To find out more click on this link: https://katiekibbe.substack.com/
The season of Lent asks us to focus our attention on the pain of suffering. We see Jesus suffering on the cross as well as the suffering of the people we love. In this episode, we discover that while there are no answers to the question of why do we suffer? We can find hope in Scripture to navigate the suffering path knowing we need never suffer alone.
It is not always obvious that happiness is found in the lenten practice of repentance. Repenting does not always feel safe. In this episode, we will see that Lent is a season of restoration. Repentance can feel scary, especially if we can't predict how the other person will respond to our apology. God is the most predictable. His mercy exceeds anything we can imagine.

The Season of Lent invites us to prepare our hearts to celebrate Easter. Repenting is an integral part of the process, but it might be the hardest for us to embrace. Remembering one key truth will change your perspective on repentance. If you've ever thought of God as a White Glove Soul Inspector, listen in. In this episode, we talk about a shame-free way to embrace this season.

In this first week of Lent, we're still finding our way in this new season. Why are we doing what we are doing? This week we look at the Lenten practice of fasting and what happened I approached Lent as a Self-Help Season.
What are you giving up for Lent? Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the penitential season of Lent, a time we increase our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It might be tempting to turn Lent into our own private self-improvement season. But, this season has so much more to show us about giving and receiving love rather than seeking personal perfection. In today's episode, we talk about a great first step.
