Description

Welcome to "Counsel from Above" podcast. This is a place to ask questions concerning mental health, relationships, parenting, and the like and receive an answer based on God's word and the current mental health research. I am the host Nathan Honeycutt, Licensed Professional Counselor and minister of the church of Christ. We will explore together the intersection of the Bible and mental health to help bring some of God's answers to light in this dark world. God has provided the answers we just have to know where to look. This podcast is a question and answer-based program. I need your questions to help guide the discussion. You can send your questions to counselfromabove@gmail.com. You will receive confirmation of your question and a date to be listening for the answer. I will gather guests along the way that can help provide further answers to questions that are sent. You can find the podcast on your favorite podcasting platform. Join together on this journey as we allow the Great Counselor to provide us "Counsel from Above."

What relationships are worth fixing and which relationships need to stay broken?  I get asked this question often and in this podcast I answer three questions that help us to explore this topic further in our quest to learn from God's counsel from above.
It is hard to find contentment, peace, and joy out side of God.  Satan offers many things that mask the benefit of what God provides in our life.  In this episode we focus on having a being filled with God's peace and joy, on contentment when single, and real reasons to get married.  Satan's words are hollow and leave us longing for truth.  Let us journey together and find God's message as he has the words to life if we will but listen to his Counsel from Above.
Life seems to have a lot of conflict.  Satan likes to stir things up and make it hard to get along.  He wants us to avoid conflict and for that reason many of us are experts in running from conflict.  This episode is about building our abilities to accept when conflict cannot be resolved and learn to walk away with a godly mindset.  Join me as we explore God's instruction on how to move beyond conflict that cannot be resolved.
Join me with special guest Christina Lackey, LCSW as we answer questions related to adoption.  We consider together ways to disclose adoption to children, when to disclose information, and what to be considerate of as we provide the information.
How should we deal with people that do not treat us correctly?  Should a Christian act differently then how the world acts?  What exactly does that look like?  In this episode we explore the topics of submitting to authority, grudges, and expectations.
