When God created mothers, He knew the critical role they would play in the development and success of their children. Number five of the Ten Commandments, the first one that deals with human relationships says, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12. Mother’s Day is a great time to honor and thank moms. And it can also be a tough holiday for those that didn’t have a great mother experience or their mother is no longer around. This message focuses on why God created mothers, how we can honor mothers and some needs mothers can fill for kids. Come to Rockwell Church to be encouraged to see God’s honorable design for mothers.
Rockwell Church May 14, 2023 Pastor Chris Teien

The Third of the Ten Commandments is: “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.” Exodus 20:7. This commandment is about so much more than “Don’t use God’s name as a curse word.” We have been given an awesome opportunity to have a personal relationship with the God of all creation and to experience His love – why would we want to carelessly disrespect His name? We are given the priviledge to ask for things in prayer using the authority of Jesus name. We are enabled to call on and proclaim God our Father, our Savior and Lord Jesus God in the flesh and God the Holy Spirit. We are warned God will penalize those who misuse His name and encouraged that properly magnifying God’s Holy name brings blessing and favor.
Come to Rockwell Church at 10:15am this Sunday as Pastor Chris shares Scriptures and examples on how you can magnify His Holy name. We will also have communion. A great Sunday to bring a friend.
Our church service also live streams online at https://rockwell.church/live Part three in the “Live the 10” message series.

The Second of the Ten Commandments is: “No Idols” and is found in Exodus 20:4-6. God has revealed in His Holy Word that He will not tolerate idols in our lives. While you may not be bowing before a shrine filled with figurines or images of false gods/idols, it is possible that something like sports, people’s approval, certain posessions, personal appearance or other things could be your idol. The problem with idols is they distance you from experiencing God, distract you from serving God and keep you from delighting in the God. Pastor Chris Teien shares Scriptures and examples on how you can be sure to worship God exclusively and not let idols get the the way. You will always come out ahead when you put God first.
NOTES: “The Problem with Idols”“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:4-6
#1 Idols will DISTANCE you from experiencing God
#2 Idols can DISTRACT you from serving God
#3 Idols could DESTROY families and futures
#4 Idols can be DEMONIC
#5 Idols will keep you from DELIGHTING in the Lord
The First of the Ten Commandments is, “You shall have no other gods before me" found in Exodus 20:3. There are so many benefits when you put God first in your life.
He is the God who cares about you, shares with you and rewards you. It is easy to wander out of God's will and unwittingly chase after other counterfeit
"gods" in your life and end up disappointed. Come to Rockwell Church at 10:15am this Sunday as Pastor Chris shares Scriptures and examples on how
you can worship and pursue God the way He desires for your good and the church community's benefit. When God leads your way, you will be in the right place at the right time to accomplish the right things.

Notes: “Because He Lives…”
Hebrews 10:16-25
#1 …we can be FORGIVEN of our sins because of Jesus sacrifice (v.16-18)
#2 …we are INVITED to boldly come into God’s presence by theblood of Jesus (v.19-20)
#3 …we have a personal relationship with Jesus LEADING us asour high priest in Heaven (v.21)
#4 …we are CLEANSED from our sinful past (v.22)
#5 … we are given true HOPE to hold on to (v.23)
#6 …we are motivated to lovingly SERVE one another (v.24)
#7 …we GATHER with other Christ-followers to live WELL Lives together (v.25)
We pause to remember Jesus sacrifice as He purposefully suffered on the cross to pay for our sins. We will have communion and focus on Jesus own words recorded in John chapter 12. In verse 32 He says, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He lived a perfect life and then He traded His righteousness for our sinfulness so we could know Him and be with Him forever. Come be encouraged to worship our Savior who paid the price in a very dark world, so that those who put their faith in Him will experience salvation, victory and living in God’s perfect light.
Rockwell Church Good Friday April 7, 2023 Pastor Chris Teien
"Love was Revealed When Jesus was Lifted Up on that Cross”

1 We see God’s loving plan FULFILLED
2 We see Jesus ENDURING sin for our Salvation
3 We see that we now have ACCESS to the presence of God
4 We see Jesus remedy brings HOPE and healing
5 We tell others to look upon our SAVIOR
When Jesus is Lifted Up
The crowd cheered as Jesus rode into Jerusalem fulfilling prophecy and giving people the hope they were watching for. It was the day Jesus was honored as a King. The people cried out, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Hosanna means “Save Us.” It was the day that Jesus showed his authority over the merchants abd money changers in the temple. It was the day he healed the blind and lame and heard people praise him. It was the day the Pharisees (religous leaders) decided Jesus needed to die. That was all before the cheering stopped. The people wanted their immediate plans fulfilled – Jesus was working out His eternal plans.
Listen to this message from Pastor Chris Teien at Rockwell Church this Palm Sunday as we remember what Jesus endured to redeem us from our sin and give us abundant and eternal life. Be encouraged to keep praising Jesus and following his agenda and timeframe in our lives. A great Sunday to worship and have Communion together – who will you bring with you?
Before the Cheering Stopped
#1 Jesus FULFILLED Prophecy (Matt 21:1-5)
#2 The Disciples & Crowd HONORED Jesus (Matt 21:6-9)
#3 The People INQUIRED about Jesus (Matt 21:10-11)
#4 Jesus REVEALED His Authority (Matt 21:12-16)
Question: When Jesus inspects your temple will He find living faith or lifeless religion?
A. Ways they rejected Jesus
1) They Set Traps
2) They Threw Stones
3) They Spread Lies
4) They Crucified Him
B. Ways we can reject Jesus
1) By Ignoring His Word
2) By Failing to Grow
3) By Failing to Reproduce
4) By Failing to Building His Kingdom
Holy Communion (Mark 14:22-26)
Whenever people get together, there is bound to be conflict. The Bible is full of characters with relationship problems. Biblical conflict resolution tools can help us honor Christ in our lives and help restore relationships with people in our lives. Romans 12:18 says, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” While some people make it impossible to reconcile, you will be blessed when you do your part to try to bring healing and forgiveness.
We will look at some of the tools available from Ken Sande and Peacemaker Ministries in print and online. They include the 4 G’s of Peacemaking, The Seven A’s of Confession, the Four Promises of Forgiveness and the PAUSE Principle of Negotiating.
Come to Rockwell Church this Sunday to be encouraged to seek to live at peace with others and help others find peace in the midst of their conflicts.
We receive the Holy Spirit the moment we place our faith in Jesus and are saved. In the book of Ephesians we are taught that believers are sealed in Holy Spirit, a secure guarantee promising our future destiny with Christ, and a comforting guide to help us be successful serving the Lord now. Scripture shows us what to do and not do if we want to thrive in the Holy Spirit (and not grieve the Holy Spirit). Listen to this maeesage from Pastor Chris Teien at Rockwell Church to be encouraged to live yielded and empowered lives in the Spirit making a difference today and for eternity.
Have you ever been so pleased with a service or product that you want to tell everyone about it that will listen? We know we are supposed to tell others about Jesus but sometimes we are afraid or don't know what to say. John wrote a letter to help us comprehend the benefits of our faith with assuring confidence (1 John 5). Listen to this audio from Rockwell Church to be encouraged to enthusiastically share your new life in Jesus and support others like camps and missionaries that share our message so that more people can be reached.
How to Share your Faith in Jesus with Assuring Confidence
1 John 5
1. Confident we have BECOME children of God (1 John 5:1–2)
2. Assured we will OVERCOME the world through Faith (1 John 5:3–5, 18-19)
3. Confident in the TRUTH of our Beliefs (1 John 5:6–10)
4. Assured we POSSESS Eternal Life in Jesus (1 John 5:11–13)
5. Confident in our RELATIONSHIP with Jesus (1 John 5:14-15, 20-21)
Faith in Jesus brings forgiveness of sin but not immediate perfection. The deeper we grow in our faith, the more we become aware of our shortcomings and desire to experience victory over sin. No matter how hard we try on our own, it is impossible to live an absolutley perfect life every day. In Romans chapter 6 we read what has been done and what we can do to live a new life in Christ. The exciting process of becoming more like Jesus is called sanctification. Come to Rockwell Church this Sunday to be encouraged to see yourself dead to sin and alive to righteousness as you commit to follow God’s plans for your life. It’s communion Sunday https://rockwell.church
How you can Experience Victory Over Sin
1. Victory because we are CALLED to live a New Life (Romans 6.1-4)
2. Victory since we are Set Free from the CHAINS of Sin and Death (Romans 6.5-10)
3. Victory when we CONSIDER ourselves Alive in Christ (Romans 6.11)
4. Victory when we give ourselves COMPLETELY to God and His work (Romans 6.12-13)
5. Victory when we CHOOSE to obey God and become Holy (Romans 6.14-19)
When we accept that we are like sheep and Jesus is the Good Shepherd who was willing to sacrifice His life to protect the flock we start to understand how much our loving Savior cares for us. In John 10:27–28 Jesus says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” Listen to this message from Pastor Chris Teien at Rockwell Church to be encouraged to trust the Shepherd who wants us to experience peace and a full life.
The Bible is one of the easiest books to acquire and there is at least one in almost every home. While it is easy for many to take God's Word for granted, it can totally transform your life when it's valued, understood and properly applied. 1 Peter 1:23 says, "For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God." Come to Rockwell Church this Sunday to be encouraged to invest in and obey God's revealed will for your life.
Listen and be encouraged with a message about God’s love that brings peace, develops character and transforms us with hope. We read these assuring words, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8. It’s worth celebrating how God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to rescue and save us and the Holy Spirit to fill us. Listen to Rockwell Church and be inspired to live in God’s incredible love.
This Sunday Pastor Chris is sharing an encouraging message about the importance of music in the Christ-followers life and Kelly from Life 97.3FM will be here sharing information about their Christian Radio Station (Rockwell Church is their church of the week).
Throughout the Bible we see a variety of people worshiping through song and we are instructed to sing hymns and spiritual songs. Psalm 40:2b-3 says, "he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him." We will look at some of the different types on songs in the Bible and see how choosing to listen to Christian music can help transform our minds and encourage us to be more faithful.
We meet at 10:15am Sundays at 93 Midway Drive in Virginia, MN. Kids and adult Sunday School at 9am.

WELL Lives: Worship God Encourage and be Encouraged Learn and Teach Love Heard and Love Shared
Recently we’ve been hearing about Prince Harry’s controversial book “Spare” where he published how he feels about his imperfect royal family. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David are a few Bible characters that had dysfunctional families. It’s interesting to think that Jesus grew up in a family with younger brothers and sisters in an unusual family situation. Jesus can understand our struggles.
Our family experience can make a positive or negative difference in our lives. No matter how old we are we can still be carrying pain and regret from our family experiences. Come to Rockwell Church to be encouraged to find help and healing from and/or for your imperfect family life.
We meet at 10:15am Sundays at 93 Midway Drive in Virginia, MN. Kids and adult Sunday School at 9am.

God is the creator of life and also the one who decides when it ends. While abortion may seem like a convenient way to take care of an unplanned pregnancy it can have terrible, life long side effects and it ends the life of an innocent pre-born human being. On this Sanctity of Human Life Sunday we share Scripture, video clips and stories of those who considered or completed abortions. Our church shows grace and love to those who have made bad choices in the past. We hope to teach and encourage people to make the right choices in the future. Listen as we look at life, abortion and euthanasia.
We meet at 10:15am Sundays at 93 Midway Drive in Virginia, MN. Kids and adult Sunday School at 9am.

Many gardeners like to look at seed catalogs in January to see what they can plant in the spring, enjoy during the summer and harvest in the fall.
