How are you performing in your exams? With the exam season in full swing, teenagers like you have a bag full of mixed emotions. Do you feel motivated on some days, but doubt, fear and panic easily creeps in on other days? Have you revised a particular chapter many times and felt tired to read it again or do you go blank while writing your exam papers? Well the answer lies in your studying techniques. Hello, I am your host Dr. Smita Dipankar and I shall answer your question of “How to stay focused on studies?” It all starts with creating a unique style of studying that aligns with you. If you feel tired of revising the same chapter repeatedly, then give yourself a surprise writing test and solve questions at the end of the chapter or try past papers. If you feel blank during exams, then start revising while writing. Most teenagers prefer reading while revising but writing is said to have a higher recall rate.  Listen to the entire episode to know why writing is one of the effective study techniques for you as compared to reading. Welcome to yet another episode of The Simplifying Teenage Podcast - this is your host Dr.Smita Dipankar and today I am going to talk to you on behalf of your parents. It is natural to feel confused and alone when you are transitioning into this new teen age phase of your life. You might feel that mom doesn’t understand you or dad doesn’t have time for you. But that is not entirely true!  Sometimes, teenagers assume a lot of things and that can create a distance between your parents and you. Thus, slowly weaken your bond. Do you dislike exams? Do you have exam anxiety? Also, if you feel like all your friends are pretty sorted but exams only make your life miserable, then this episode is for you. Hello, I am your host Dr. Smita Dipankar and today I want to tell you a secret. All your friends also feel the same way but everyone has a different threshold of quantifying misery and handling the situation.  To avoid feeling exam panic, you have to replace your anxious feeling with better feelings. You can simply do this by drinking water and with every sip acknowledging how you feel. Once you do that, go to the washroom and pee. While flushing, tell your mind that all your worries and sad feelings are also flushed. Now repeat the exercise of drinking water and replace it with happy memories. Then, do something that makes you happy like dancing or eating chocolate. Easy, right?
