Timothy Allen talks with Shajay Bhooshan
Shajay runs the computation and design group at Zaha Hadid Architects and he worked on the designs for some well known Free City projects including Próspera, Praxis and Liberland's metaverse project.
Zaha Hadid definitely work at the sharp end of the wedge as far as using innovative technologies goes and speaking to Shajay gave me a peek into the future of architectural design and city planning along with digital fabrication of virtual places. Spoiler alert: Shajay predicts that one day Zaha Hadid will generate more revenue from the digital realm than from the physical.
I would never have predicted that.
Enjoy the conversation.

Self Sovereignty, Overlanding, Landsteading, Bitcoin Adoption, Digital Identity, BTC Map, Flag Theory, Freedom.
Timothy Allen talks with Nathan Day.
Nathan is a former global IT systems optimiser who managed to gain a degree of financial freedom after he sold his business a few years ago. Consequentially, this lead to him and his wife to ask themselves the question:
“If we were terminally ill and had 2 years to live, what would we do?”
The answer came in the form of a custom built, fully pimped out overland & off-road truck which their family has been using as a home from home ever since.
In this conversation we discuss various topics related to Bitcoin, including the installation of miners in their truck, their experiences living self-sovereign lives during the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential of decentralized networks like Nostr to revolutionize digital identity.
We also explore the connections between time, entropy and Bitcoin and discuss the current state of Bitcoin adoption and infrastructure globally. If you’re a Bitcoiner you’ll probably know Nathan better as the co-founder of BTC Map, the indispensable app for finding merchants that accept bitcoin. Nathan shares some fascinating insights into merchant adoption around the globe, arguably one of the best metrics for measuring the success of the decentralised money.
Enjoy the conversation.

We discuss the importance of preserving privacy and security in decentralized markets while incentivizing proper behavior as well as exploring the limitations of democracy as the sole form of governance and the potential for the emergence of autonomous cities.
Additionally, we examine the economic situation in various countries, including Argentina, and the impact of inflation on the middle class.
Finally, we touch upon the creation of free cities and economic zones as a means of disruption.
Lea is an old school digital nomad with stories from all those places you’ve probably never been. Speaking with her is always a pleasure and hope you find inspiration from our discussions.

Bitcoin, Collapse of Fiat, Venice, The Sovereign Individual, Governance, Democracy, Lyn Alden, Broken Money, Mercantile Republic.
Timothy Allen talks with Allen Farrington.
The Bitcoiners amongst you will know Allen well. He’s the co-author of the book ‘Bitcoin is Venice’, a very well respected book about modern economic theories... both the good ones and the bad ones. The title of the book comes from one of the Allen's essays in which he connects the properties of Venice which lead to it becoming arguably the most successful cities of all time with the attributes of the monetary technology of Bitcoin.
As you may guess, Allen thinks that Bitcoin could be pivotal in helping to usher in a new age of governance and worldwide economic realities. We discuss Venice’s 1000+ year success story and its final demise along with his take on the sovereign individual thesis we see playing out in real life at the moment. Allen is somebody who uses the word 'Fiat' as an adjective, so we inevitably end up discussing the importance of letting go of the fiat monetary system in favour of a Bitcoin standard.
All in all this is a very interesting conversation at the intersection of Free Cities and Bitcoin. Many thanks to Allen for taking the time to drop in.
Enjoy the conversation.

Timothy Allen talks with Thomas D. Walls.
Thomas is Liberland's minister of foreign affairs and I caught up with him at ARK, the so called ‘Liberland village’ located just over the border from Liberland’s territory in Serbia.
If you’re new to the story then I would say that this interview is one to be listened to in conjunction with the two other Liberland podcasts I’ve recorded recently. One with the president Vít Jedlička in episode 58 and the other with my Free Cities Foundation colleague Hynek Fencl in episode 82.
In this episode I’m probing a little deeper into the project searching for more information about the government and how it works plus updates on some of the recent diplomatic and political events that are shaping the future of Liberland. Thomas also gave me his predictions for the timeline going forward and we discuss the best strategies that might see the brightest future for the project.

Timothy Allen talks with Marc Friedrich
Today I’m having a conversation with Germany's most successful non-fiction author. Marc Friedrich has written 7 best selling books, the latest of which is called ‘The Greatest Revolution of All Time' and it is about preserving your wealth through what Marc says is the inevitable coming failure of the current monetary system.
This subject forms the meat and bones of our discussion in this podcast along with some chat about Marc’s opinion of gold. Has bitcoin superseded it? Also, his horrific experiences of hyperinflation whilst living in Argentina and a general guide to prepping and how to escape the proverbial matrix of modern life.

CBDCs, Bitcoin, China, Alipay, Wechat, Thailand, Personal Carbon Allowance, Universal Basic Income, Carbon Credits, Freedom, Monetary Collapse, Carbon Markets.
Timothy Allen talks with Efrat Fenigson.
Todays show is an important one if, like me you value individual freedom and prosperity. Efrat Fenigson is a journalist and marketing expert who I sat down with in Prague a few weeks ago to talk everything CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies).
CBDCs, as the name suggests are programmable digital tokens issued directly from a country's central bank. Don’t think that’s a problem? I do, but don’t just trust me. Here’s how Agustín Carsten, the general manager of the Bank of International Settlements framed it a couple of years ago whilst he was talking about physical cash: "A key difference with the CBDC.. is that the central bank will have absolute control over the rules and regulations that will determine the use of that expression of central bank liability.”
Yes, that’s right, it's programmable money issued solely by the creepy psychopathic banking overlord types. That’s my characterisation of course, but I’ve linked that particular speech in the show notes below so you can take a look to see if you would trust this guy as the issuer and controller of your money.
Fortunately for us, since 2008 we have had an antidote to this sociopathy. That would be bitcoin of course, so don’t despair but it is important for you to prepare yourself for what is almost certainly coming along with CBDCs.
Topics we touch upon include marketing CBDCs to the public, the Covid crisis, social credit scores, Alipay, WeChat and what's going on in China plus the arrival of personal carbon allowances and the possibility of a global financial collapse in our lifetimes.
Enjoy the conversation.

Bitcoin, Ibogaine, Psychedelics, Addiction, Fiat, Awareness, Nihilism, Collectivism, Beauty, Trauma, Democracy, Architecture, Freedom.
Timothy Allen talks with Tuur Demeester.
Tuur is an analyst and investor, probably best known for his work within the Bitcoin ecosystem. I have been a fan of his for quite some time, greatly appreciating his ability to straddle the worlds of traditional finance on the one hand & the somewhat esoteric world of Bitcoin on the other.
One thing that may need explaining here and something that I would definitely advise you to check out prior to listening to this episode is Tuur's interview on the 'What Bitcoin Did' podcast episode #691 entitled ‘From Psychedelics to the Bitcoin Boom’.
During that show Tuur recounts his harrowing experience taking the psychedelic Ibogaine in an attempt to gain access to the source of some personal anxiety he had been experiencing for many years.
At the start of my episode we jump straight into those experiences, so it may help to listen to WBD first to better understand the context.
My questions in this discussion may seem a little chaotic so you’ll have to forgive me for that. I had so much that I wanted to discuss with Tuur but only 1.5 hours in which to talk. In hindsight I think I was trying to conjure up the understanding that what Tuur experienced on his ibogaine trip and what we are all experiencing in our daily lives are very similar in nature, and that is summed up well in the title of this episode. Tuur says it in the conversation:
“Let's identify how we are shackled’.
I think that many of us are stumbling through life without ever noticing the shackles that are shaping our actions. This is a also true for our money of course as we discuss in the conversation, but the thing I was trying to convey is that change begins with the acknowledgment and experience of awareness. When we become aware of our shackles, be they suppressed childhood experiences or fiat monetary systems, from the position of awareness we can begin to let them move and become 'unstuck' as Tuur likes to call it.
This is an episode about finding hope in dark places. It's a pretty weird one I agree but I hope you can distill some truth in here & find some things that might help you on your personal journey to freedom in these chaotic times.
Enjoy the conversation.

Próspera ZEDE, Duna Residence, Pioneer Settlers, Nostr, Prosperians, Honduras, Legal Battle, Special Economic Zone, Bitcoin, Opt In.
Timothy Allen talks with Luke Thibodeau.
Today's episode is a Próspera update show. Próspera is of course one of the Free Cities ecosystem’s flagship projects that everyone should be watching with an eagle eye as far as I’m concerned. The things that they are doing in Honduras and the pioneering issues that they are dealing with are laying the ground work for so many of the projects that we will see unfolding in the future.
In Prague last week I bumped into Próspera’s CFO Luke Thibodeau and he gave me the low down on all the latest developments in the jurisdiction, including the exciting news that residents have started moving into the Duna Residence, their flagship new build. We also discuss their legal battle with the Honduran government and all the latest info on new projects as well as how Luke sees the project evolving in the short to medium term.
This discussion is jam packed with great info and insights and I hope it inspires you to go and check it out for yourself. Or as Luke puts it: "It’s all theoretical until it happens”.

Timothy Allen talks with Swen Lorenz.
On today's show I’m speaking with Swen Lorenz again. Swen co-runs the Sark Property Company and as the title of the episode suggests, they have some exciting news about their investment plans and the general future of Sark.
I caught up with Swen in London a couple of weeks ago but have been holding back the episode until The Sunday Times had published it's major exclusive article on the same subject a few days ago.
In the episode we discuss The Sark Property Company's upcoming cash bid for the Sark estate currently owned by the Barclay family. This should be of interest to you if you’re a Sarkey, an incomer to Sark or indeed just Sark-curious, as I know many of you are.
Enjoy the conversation.

Timothy Allen talks with Glenn Cameron.
Glenn is a senior investment consultant who was recently appointed as Head of Digital Assets at Cartwright, the independent privately-owned pension actuarial, consultancy and administration firm. If you’re a financial layman like myself then it's easiest to think of him as the guy who deals with institutional investors regarding Bitcoin.
Bitcoin's institutional investors have been somewhat dramatically cast into the limelight recently with the SEC’s decision to allow the approval of spot Bitcoin ETF products for US citizens. Most people acknowledge that these developments are ushering in an new era of institutional adoption of BTC with some saying that it also grants a new level of legitimacy to the decentralised money, so I was extremely happy to sit down with Glenn and get his experienced opinion on what's going on and what this means for the world of finance and individuals who want to be self-sovereign with their money.
This was a great conversation full of excellent insights from the world of legacy finance and will be of great value to anyone who wants to understand Bitcoin’s path forward towards mass adoption.
Many thanks to Glenn for giving me some of his precious time, and don’t be surprised when you hear somebody knocking on his door vigorously during the episode. Glenn's dog escaped and a kind neighbour was returning it. Sorry, I couldn’t edit it out of the episode without compromising the content.

Timothy Allen talks with Patrik Schumacher
Today's guest should need little or no introduction. He is the renowned architectural theorist, educator and author Patrik Schumacher, probably best know currently as the principal architect at Zaha Hadid Architects, who are renowned for their innovative and futuristic designs utilising organic forms and cutting edge technology. Those of you who follow the Free cities space closely will also know that Zaha Hadid were commissioned to design customisable buildings in Honduras's Free City Próspera, something we get to discuss in the conversation. This interview was part of our SEZ film once again so there is somewhat of a slant in the Special Economic Zone direction and FYI, we jump right into the conversation discussing the City of London just in case that isn’t immediately apparent.

Timothy Allen talks with Krysta Fox
This week we’re back in the U.A.E. with another excellent conversation from our SEZ filming trip.
Krysta Fox has a long and illustrious business career, but the part we were interested in was her six year position as executive director of Dubai’s DMCC - (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) a very well known and hugely successful free zone.
As a consequence, Krysta has a lot to say about free zones and what makes them tick. She’s also a wealth of information on the past and present of zones with many examples and predictions for the future especially with regard to their residential component… something that we at the FCF are obviously very interested in.

Timothy Allen talks with Sebastian Weglarz.
This week's show is a bit of a trip into the past. If truth be told, I had an audio problem with the episode I was going to air and then I lost access to all my upcoming shows (it's a long story that I won't go in to). Anyway, whilst rummaging around in my archive looking for back-ups, I discover an unpublished episode that I thought we had lost many months ago. It was recorded at Weekend Kapitalizmu in Warsaw just over a year ago (obviously… bear this in mind whilst we’re talking about current affairs etc) .
Sebastian Weglarz is a Polish anarcho-capitalist who certainly wears many hats in life. He’s the head of outreach at Liberty International, which I’m told is the oldest organisation promoting Liberty worldwide. He’s also a marketeer, memer, rapper and general advocate for self sovereignty and the nomadic way of life.
In our (rather chaotic) conversation you can expect to hear our raspy, conference-damaged voices talk about, amongst other things: Polish history, Communism, Libertarianism, art, culture, Bitcoin, memes.
Enjoy the conversation.

Alternative Governance, China, Próspera, Charter Cities, Dubai, Bitcoin, El Salvador, Digital Nomad Visas, Sovereign Individual Thesis, Network States, Infopreneurs.
Timothy Allen talks with Olivier Roland.
Olivier is a French author, entrepreneur, digital nomad and influencer with over 800,000 followers across his social media channels. His latest book (not out yet) focuses on how the internet is disrupting nation-states and how to navigate these opportunistic times.
Olivier has been testing out the sovereign individual thesis for his manuscript by analysing the data related to the predictions that were made in the original book. What he has discovered is incredibly fascinating along with the other topics discussed in this episode including China, Próspera, Dubai, charter cities, digital nomadism, network states and Olivier explains to me what an infopreneur is and why it is such an important concept for the 21st century.
Public service announcement: At about the 1hr 10m mark a microphone blew up and I had to restart the recording. I didn’t try to splice them together this time so prepare for quite a jolt in the conversation.
Enjoy.

Timothy Allen talks with Andreas Baumgartner.
I have another returning guest for you today. The last time I spoke with Andreas Baumgartner was back in episode 32 where we discussed the ins and outs of negotiating with governments, something that Andreas does on behalf of Free Cities projects and organisations such as the Metis Institute, Praxis and, relevant in this conversation: Tipolis which is Titus Gebel’s organisation that creates privately run communities.
This conversation was recorded during one of our interviews for the Special Economic Zones film we are producing and afterwards I continued talking to Andreas about Tipolis and their ‘International Cities’ projects. I’ve spliced both interviews together but you may observe that the latter part of the podcast is a bit more question/answer than is normal on this podcast since I was fishing for soundbites for a film. Nevertheless I thought there was some good info in there for all you Free Cities enthusiasts so I’ve left it in.
Hope you enjoy the dialogue. Andreas is one of the OGs of the space and has more hands on experience than most.
Enjoy the conversation.
