What do Richard Branson, Steve Jobs, Stephen King, Gandhi, Barack Obama, and Warren Buffett all have in common? They all implemented routines that contributed to their success and changed the lives of millions of people around the world. What were their routines? They stayed focused on their life goals and eliminated distractions everywhere possible. All these successful people were early risers and made the most of the first few hours of the day. Every single one of them incorporated some form of movement or exercise as part of their daily routine. Routines are a series of practices that are put into a regimen and have a specific start, middle, and end. For instance, your morning routine might include waking up at 5 am, having a couple cups of coffee, drinking a large glass of water, meditating for five minutes, going to the gym for a workout, reading, visualizing your day, planning your day, journaling, and asking yourself powerful questions, all before 8 am. Routine is what we repeat specifically and with purpose, usually within a certain window of time. Beethoven woke up at the crack of dawn to work on his music until 3 pm every single day. Then, he took a lunch break and a walk in the afternoon. That is a routine. Once I discovered this way of being from the past I was able to own who I was being and create something new;  something more empowering. I was able to forgive and cause healing. This was a decision that I made when I was in high chair. This decision controlled how I lived my life for the next 30 years.
