We’ve all seen the article headlines like, “Women *Are* Asking for More Money at Work—They’re Just Not Getting It”, or “Why Women Don’t Ask for More Money”. "I can pinpoint moments in this process through renovating or how we spent our money or where I felt like I should have done one thing, but an expert in the industry told me I should do it this way. But this is my vision not theirs."One of my favorite things in having a podcast is going to different locations and recording live in front of a Women’s Social Club audience. "We had nothing there. It was just mud. I would pull up, take the desk out of my trunk. I had this cute little lookbook that had, you know, all the finishes and stuff we've picked out. We had some renderings. I have hard hats with our logo on them. And so we'd walk around, and I would kind of, like, stand and be like, so this is where a wall is going to be. And then I'd shimmy over and go, and then this is is where the door is. And literally, there was nothing there when we sent out our first contract. "I would leave sessions and weddings and events and headshot sessions, and every single person, both men and women that I photographed all had the same narrative. You're gonna Photoshop me, you're gonna change my body, you're gonna make me look younger, thinner, fatter, more curvy. Every single person was dealing with some sort of dysmorphia or some sort of body image issue that they wanted changed. And I was like, why are we walking around hoping to be more like somebody else?"Katelyn Guild grew up with a camera in her hands and always loved photography - just as a hobby. But when her father passed away unexpectedly, she realized life is short, and it was time to take her passion full time.  Through her journey, she realized something else - that she wants to help every woman feel comfortable in their own bodies. In this episode, you'll learn:Why Katelyn chose boudoir photographyHow her business has grown on Instagram and TikTokHow to take "spicy" selfiesHow to talk to kids about body positivityResources:Katelyn Scott Boudoir Instagram | TikTokOther episodes you'll enjoy:Manifesting a Life that Supports Your DreamsHow the Women's Social Club Came to BeOvercoming Imposter SyndromeConnect with me:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/womenssocialclub/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheWomensSocialClub/Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/The_WSC_LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/the-womens-social-club/Loved this episode? Hey everyone, Hannah here! At a Women's Social Club event not too long ago, after the presentation, I had a chance to sit down with Tiffany Welton, and she told me about her idea for a champagne bar. I absolutely LOVED this idea (we don’t have a concept like that in the Raleigh area).  But what really got my attention was the name of the bar - RBF.  And if you think you know what it means, you're absolutely right! :)Today we share the story of the RBF Champagne Bar, which opens on Saturday February 4th!Come join The Women's Social Club (locations in Raleigh, Atlanta, Boston, Central North Carolina, Charlotte, Chicago, Jacksonville Florida, Memphis, New York, and Wilmington North Carolina, with locations launching soon in Austin, Charleston South Carolina, Washington DC, Denver, Miami, and Nashville).
