Coax Baseball parties like it's a year toward the end of the last century. May 18th, 1999, the White Sox host the offensive juggernaut Clevelands at Comiskey Park. We've got classic Hawk Harrleson, we've got The Big Hurt, we've got a litany of excellent Cleveland hitters powering the team to the Majors best record to that point in the year. Scott and Travis discuss Cleveland's uneven roster construction, late 90s payrolls compared to today, the absolute freak known as Richie Sexson, looking back at problematic players and how we should remember them, and the White Sox for like two minutes. Click here to watch the game. Click here to check out the Baseball Reference boxscore. The Omar Vizquel story (HEAVY content warning: Sexual violence, assault). Robbie Alomar's second story (heed the same warnings). You can find it here.
Wherein we introduce ourselves and our dumb little baseball podcast, wax poetic about watching Mike Mussina pitch, discuss the 1994 players' strike, ponder the crumbling Blue Jays empire, laugh at 92 mph fastballs, and defend the honor of Brady Anderson. We find all these full-length, fully-edited old VHS-ripped games on This Is Where You Find Baseball on YouTube. This week's game! The game's Baseball Reference page!
