After reading Henry Drummond's book "The Greatest Thing in the World", I decided to accept his challenge and do the readings he suggested at the end of the book. This episodes includes my realizations and thoughts from reading 1st Corinthians 13 every day for a week. I will continue the challenge and hope everyone takes this challenge on themselves!
We finish the book "The Greatest Thing in the World" by Henry Drummond today! A call to action, a reminder of what we are doing, and a reminder of what matters in the end. Love is the Greatest Thing in the World, and Drummond has made a solid case for that Truth!
What is the purpose of life? A question asked my many, and gets met with an overwhelming variety of answers. Well, Drummond sums it up for us very clearly, and directly. To Live is to Love, and to Love is to Live. Anything in the place of love, will never be enough!
Why should we orient ourselves around love? Why is it that nothing else will be an acceptable replacement for where love is supposed to be? We explore that in this reason and how the mis-prioritization of worldly things is sinful, rather than the world things themselves. This is a refreshing section that really allows for a reorientation to what is most important in life.
We begin the last section of the book "The Greatest Thing in the World" titled The Defense! We start off incredible strong talking about why Love is the most important thing in the world!
