Mark 4:1-9. Andrew Mihaleff shares an encouraging word on the familiar Parable of the Sower. We are reminded that the power that is in the gospel to change us, also depends on the way we respond to the gospel. Our lives will never be fruitful for Christ until our hearts are softened by the love of Christ. The challenge for us is to continue to bring our lives afresh and to yield to Him every part of us.

Ps Hilary Williams ends a two-part series on our church values. While some aspects of these values are specific to us as a church, all of these are rooted in scripture. Thus these should resonate with all of us as Christians. As we revisit the things that make us who we are as a body of believers, we pray that we might be stirred to both individually and collectively live in a way that reflects our loving Father.

Hebrews 12:1-13. Ps Hilary Williams concludes our Fruitful series by looking at running with perseverance. Hebrews implores us not to give up in pursuing a life that runs after God and continues to bear fruit. The passage reminds us there are distractions and in order to run the race truly, we will only do so when we live looking to Christ.

John 15:1-17. Ps Christian Kahnt continues our Fruitful series returning to our anchor text in John 15. We are reminded that bearing fruit is the only way to live as a Christian. context we may be drawn towards works, but Jesus goes on to clearly point out that fruit comes from God alone. The key to following Christ is not to pursue being fruitful but to remain and abide in Christ the true vine.

James 3:13-4:17. Ps Hilary Williams continues our Vision series by observing there are two ways we could live. According to James, we are faced with questions over the wisdom, attitudes or friendship we might pursue. The apostle makes it clear that one leads to life and the other death. As we remember that our own fruitfulness depends on Christ, the onus on us is to ensure we plant our lives in the ways God would have us live.

Ps Hilary Williams launches our new ministry year looking at John 15. This promise of abiding with Jesus and bearing fruit, is not only still relevant today, but comes with a note of caution. We are not responsible for our own fruitfulness; rather, we bear fruit according to our walk before God. Let us be a people with hearts set on him, so that our fruitfulness brings God honour.

Ruth 4. Anoj Joseph finishes our Redeemer series by looking at Ruth's cloaing chapter. The story pivots to Boaz and an unknown man - both of whom qualify to redeem Ruth (and by Jewish custom, are really obliged to act). While the unknown man backs out, Boaz faithfully assumes the role of redeemer. The wonderful truth is that through Ruth and Boaz, we are not only led to David but to the ultimate Redeemer of all of us - Jesus Christ himself.

Ruth 3. Ps Hilary Williams continues our Redeemer series looking at this dramatic moment between Ruth and Boaz. While much is implied or ambigious, these two act in faithfulness and integrity througout. In Ruth's faithful example throughout the story, we should be encouraged to act with integrity and kindness, and to trust God where he leads us.

Ruth 2. Ps Christian Kahnt continues our series in Ruth looking at God’s grace. Ruth and Naomi go from despair to hope as they encounter Boaz. We must recognise that just as Boaz was kind, so too God's kindness does not depend on us. However, in Ruth we have an example of how we might position ourselves to be in God's perfect purpose and favour.

Ruth 1. Ps Hilary Williams kicks off a brand new series on the book of Ruth. This short book is a story of love, harvest and ultimately - redemption. The book begins with the focus on Naomi, who is destitute and would appear to be walking away from God. However in spite of her pain, her actions suggest not only a deeper personal faith, but a faith that perhaps led Ruth to want to know this God.

Revelation 5. Josh Lau shares a timely reminder of Christ's ultimate victory. We suffer, we struggle with sin, we wonder when God will make all things right. This passage reminds us there is one who holds the future, and will share with us the victory over suffering and sin. Answers may not come when we want, but we must always take the time to behold and worship the One who holds the answers.

On his return from sabbatical, Ps Hilary Williams shares a report from his time away. Among other things, one key lesson Hilary was reminded of, was that when we find our joy in God, we move from past regrets to gratitude, and from anxiety to a future of hope. We pray that God's grace and healing serves as an encouragement to us all.

1 Corinthians 15:5. Ps Chrisitian Kanht shares a timely word about the gospel of grace. We mistakenly believe the gospel os the gateway to Christ, rather than the life path it truly is for our Christianity. The gospel is a precious diamond we must continually return to. Furthermore we cannot assume the gospel - neither for ourselves, nor for those with whom we are compelled to share this life-giving message.

Romans 1:21-23. Ps Christian Kanht gives us a short word on thanksgiving. Because of sin we are born thankless - this can quickly steer us into idolatry. The greatest enjoyment we can get is to delight and thank God for who He is and all He has done. Let us continue to be grateful, and that our gratitude would be through the gift of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6:5-15. Anoj Joseph continues our Real Deal series by looking at Jesus' statement on prayer. In this familiar passage we see how Jesus wishes for us to pray to our heavenly Father. As with giving, Jesus again speaks to the human need for recognition - reminding us that prayer is about transformation, not the hollow appearance of righteousness. God doesn't need eloquence, rather He calls for honest and worshipful communion with HimWe'd love to hear from you! Matthew 6:1-4. As we return to our Real Deal series, Ps Christian Kahnt looks at Jesus' statement on giving. Turning the page to chapter 6, Jesus speaks to the human need for recognition, even as we do something like giving to others. While we crave attention of others, the heart of ministry is service - to God first. We are not to live for the praise of others, but living for Him - who always sees when we give and serve. We'd love to hear from you! Kate Dundas shares a timely word on rest. We live in a day and time that prioritises effort, work and productivity. These are good things that society grossly overemphasises, if not worships. We are made to also need rest and we should not feel guilt for this. While rest looks different from person to person, the best form of rest is Sabbath - giving time with God in His presence and in community. We'd love to hear from you! In this Q&A session, we have our speakers from this part of the series (Hilary, Christian, Anoj and Andrew) take questions about Matthew 5 from the Sermon On The Mount. Matthew 5:33-37. Ps Hilary Williams concludes this leg of our Real Deal series by considering Jesus' teaching on loving our enemies. Most see this counter-cultural teaching in terms of how we are to treat others. However, Jesus is not saying we are to put up with abuse, or that we have no right to stand up for ourselves. Ultimately we are to rise above law and culture, seek peace over vengeance, and to let our kindness provoke others to evaluate their own hearts. We'd love to hear from you!
