The Video Game Hall of Fame

Yes, we've returned from our Sega Mania Magazine-finishing hiatus and we're quite literally diving back in with some wet, watery, soggy, damp and amphibious games. It was originally going to be games with oceans, but Alex's pick doesn't actually have an ocean in it.Audio issues are DEFINITELY now fixed - thanks to that dude who pointed it out in the comments!Go vote on the game you want in the Hall of Fame @vg_hof on Twitter and/or @vghof on BlueSkySend us an email to [email protected] Sega Mania Issue 10 here: www.sega-mania.com

Your favourite game franchise getting a bit forgotten? Have no fear, because someone else will make a legally distinct homage to it. Hell, maybe the original developers will tell their publisher to sod off and then do it themselves somewhere else. However they come about, spiritual successors can be equally as, if not more, special as their original inspiration, and we've got four amazing examples to nominate for the Video Game Hall of Fame.Once you've heard the nominees, head over to @vg_hof on Twitter or @vghof on BlueSky and vote in the poll to decide which one gets inducted. Oh, and send an email to [email protected]

This is a copyright-free re-upload of the original episode from 7th July 2026. In it, we nominated four Dreamcast games for the Video Game Hall of Fame. The poll's over, but go make sure you follow @vg_hof on Twitter or @vghof on BlueSky to vote in the future polls.

STRIKER! We've got football pie all over our shirts in this episode as, to celebrate the start of the 2026 World Cup, we're nominating liquid football games to go into the Video Game Hall of Fame. We've also got a sweepstakes, where the winner gets to induct a previously-nominated game of their choice, some predictions on the tournament itself and, as mentioned, four absolutely bangin' footie games for you to vote on.To do that vote, go to @vghof on BlueSky for a poll or @vg_hof on Twitter for something akin to a poll. Don't forget you can send your emails to [email protected].

It's time for the category you all voted for: spin-off games! This time we're nominating games that deviate from their existing IP to create something different. There were an insane amount of games to choose from - especially when you consider Mario himself is a spin-off of Donkey Kong!Once you've heard the pod, head over to @vg_hof on Twitter and/or @vghof on BlueSky to vote in the poll for your favourite nominee and help get it into the Hall of Fame. Don't forget to enter our competition to win copies of Volume 1 and 2 of ON magazine by sending your answer to [email protected] and go back Volume 3 of the mag at on.games/on3 to save 20% off its RRP.
