What's up Dream Warriors! We're back with another Hooptober pick, where we each pick a movie off the other's Hooptober list. This week Brooke picked The Devil's Backbone off Marc's list. This was a first time watch for both of us and has solidly put Guillermo del Toro as our most talked about director across both podcasts. Come find out how we feel this one stacks up against his other titles!
For November we decided to get a little wild and cover both new horror series; Crystal Lake and Carrie. Kicking it off with Crystal Lake so tie up the swim trunks and join us as we take a fresh look at Jason and Pamela's story of tragedy.
What's up Dream Warriors! We're all done the Childhood Trauma series and kicking off our October episodes with The Blair Witch Project from 1999. This movie is a pioneer in the found footage subgenre and it honestly paved the way for so many others. There's no denying that the team behind this movie marketed it expertly but does the movie itself hold up after 27 years?
Come back in a couple weeks for Brooke's pick of The Devil's Backbone!
What's up Dream Warriors! We are wrapping up our Childhood Trauma series this week with one neither of us have ever seen but it was recommended to us for this series and wow, Return to Oz did not dissapoint; both in the creepy factor but also in being a solid ass movie! If The Wizard of Oz made you feel warm and cuddly, this one will rip that innocence away from you and replace it with depression, fear and wishing you were still in Kansas.
This movie didn't shy away from dealing with some pretty heavy subjects such as mental health, the loss of childhood, medical practices and just overall childhood fear. If you have not watched this, we definitely recommend checking it out at least once in your life.
Come back in a couple of weeks for our first October episode; we'll each be picking a movie from the other's Hooptober list and we're kicking it off with The Blair Witch Project!
What's up Dream Warriors! We're back with yet ANOTHER 1982 traumatic childrens movie with The Dark Crystal! This was a first time watch for Brooke but a source of Marc's nightmares as a kid. How does this one rate on your childhood trauma scale? And do you still think it holds up with the creepiness?
Come back in a couple of weeks for a movie neither of us have watched but we both agree looks like it came straight from the pits of Hell to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting minds of children everywhere, and that movie is Return To Oz from 1985!
What's up Dream Warriors! We're back with Brooke's pick and another movie in our Childhood Trauma series; E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial! Brooke watched this once as a kid and then avoided it like the plague until now, so come find out if he thinks the trauma was warranted or if it's not quite as bad as he once thought.
Come back in a couple of weeks for Marc's pick of The Dark Crystal from 1982 (our 3rd 1982 movie in a row...I'm noticing a trend here.)
