Jeff Asche joins Todd and asks about the Willmar Cardinals season. The guys talk about the seeding and what could lie ahead. Jeff knows QB Alex Hoppe's family so he is excited for them. Both guys pick the Brewers to win the World Series over the Rays. That's also their rooting interest just because of some of the players and the Brewers history. The Timberwolves matched what people have been saying to a tee. High scoring and entertaining with a whole lot of three pointers going up and in. The Vikings should throttle the Colts. If they don't, questions about the team will persist. It will be interesting to watch the JJ McCarthy saga play out, what's the most likely scenario.
It's a Golden Gopher Thursday with Mike Grimm joining Todd. He talks about his trip to Provo, UT to watch BYU vs Notre Dame. A 24 team College Football Playoff will be in the near future, and Grimmer is in favor of it.
Greg Snow joins Todd and they talk about The Impossible Open last Sunday. Some diabolical pin placements and tees. Fun? Well...Todd admits to waffling on whether he should play or not, and told his golf partner he might wind up oweing him a new putter. Greg hosts the podcast on Monday with Todd returning from a golf tournament in Las Vegas. The Timberwolves open the season tonight and both guys are paying the $25 per month to watch them. Because they both believe it will be must see TV.
Matt Williams joins Todd and talks about what the school calendar for Willmar Sr. High looks like now that we are past MEA break. They are doing "mock interviews" with area business leaders from 40 different establishments. He is now into his 7th year teaching an "Adulting" class. Matt makes his Timberwolves prediction for the season and is slightly more optimistic than Todd. Both guys think the Vikings Kyler Murray is arrow up from here on out for the Vikings.
Shawn Bohlsen joins Todd after attending the Miami vs. Florida State college football game over the weekend. He says it's hard to explain how big college football is in the south if you haven't experienced it, especially an in-state rivalry. Despite the ills of NIL, the game has gotten better and given more teams a chance to win, given all the top teams losing this past Saturday. The Wild, led by Kaprizov are off to a fast start, despite some injuries. Quinn Hughes contract negotiations don't seem to be a distraction.
