Lana is on today to talk about the fractured relationship between the cis male gay community and the trans community. We also delve into the trials and triumphs of working at a sexual and wellness store. Enjoy!
Daniel joins us today to talk about Star Trek and it’s history of being progressive and inclusive. There are so many queer and LGBTQIA+ characters in this world that Gene Roddenberry built. 🖖
A wild episode where Jon explains the bittersweet nature of Pride Month, Rainbow Capitalism to Dean. They crack a few Bud Lights and talk about why straight men think men kissing men is funny.
Amanda joins Jon to discuss the state of her dating life. Is she even a lesbian anymore now that she is dating penis people who mostly identify as men. Listen in as they discuss the fluid nature of sexuality and openness that has evolved with time.
Jon and guest Jess dive headfirst into the stage of Gaylorism for more Taylor Swift theories. Switgron comes up as well as hairpin talk. Deep dive into The Eras Tour surprise songs and queer coded lyrics. Join us for this lovely innocent dance
Jess B is on the show today to talk with Jon about the theory that Taylor Swift is hiding in the LGBT closet in plain sight. This is just theory and we have no concrete proof. Whether true or not, the queer coding remains a part of being safe in the world for many gay, lesbian, trans, and bisexual people in this world. Queer signaling and recognizing it is important and a backbone of our communities. It has been how we stayed safe for time immemorial. This is bigger than Swift, for sure, but she provides a great framework for discussion.
Marcus & Jon talk about ghosts, alien abduction, haunting and mostly butt plugs. It had to be recorded twice because the first one got lost to the demons. Do you believe in ghosts? Let us know. Jon doesn’t.
Jon & our lovely guest, Emily get drunk on the white wine she brought for the episode recording. They talk about Emily’s dad coming out when she was quite young and the effect that has had on her life. Wine, among so many other wonderful memories, is something her and her dad shared a love for. Jon forgets most facts by the end of the episode. Love this one. Haha
Today we have an ally on the episode. Special guest Dean joins Jon & Marcus to discuss what makes a good straight person. We talk about Bud Light, NHL and washing balls.
There are so many types of gays. Have you ever thought of yourself as a Mean Gay? Maybe you’re a Science Gay or even a Nautical Lesbian. Maybe if you defy gravity, like a theatre gay, you also defy being put in a box. Love you, bestie. Marcus and Jon discuss all possibilities and configurations this week.
Amanda is a friend Jon has known for close to two decades. She is the inspiration for one of his core jokes in his Stand-Up set. In celebration of a very queer set he performed last night, Funny You Should Gay That is releasing this episode early. Enjoy hearing these two talk about how the Lesbian and Gay communities interact or don't and what it means to hold space for others when you hold privilege in a marginalized community. We have a lot of fun. This is the first of many episodes with Amanda who will likely return when Marcus is back to co-host. Enjoy!
The boys talk about stand-up comedy and the art of it all. We talk about some of our favorite comics and what it’s like performing for audiences that may not understand the context of what you’re saying. We really venture into whether jokes should be censored and what being funny as a career really entails. Enjoy. Laugh. But no heckling Marcus or Jon, please.
Coming at you with a big fat PSA on sexual health. As we state in the podcast, we are not doctors, but we will probably be telling you more than your sex ed teacher ever did about GAY sexual health. These are things that every person sleeping with men should know. Testing is fundamental, honey. Awareness and destigmatization of STIs are key to change in our community. We forgot to mention, but condoms are also an option. Risk assessment and negotiation should always be done with any sexual partner BEFORE any sexual activity occurs. You want both parties to consent to and be comfortable with all that is happening in the bedroom, kitchen, or gas station bathroom.

In this episode we talk about the first LGBT film and TV references we saw. We didn't have time to talk about everything we wanted to, so this is merely part one. We will delve back into this topic at a later date. We touched on Queer as Folk in all its iterations, Glee, The Last of Us, Ugly Betty Tales of the City, Get Real, the Eating Out movie series and many others. We talk about Ryan Murphy and how he followed Jon around New York (allegedly). Marcus coughs but not in a gay way. Some of the representation, in retrospect was better than others and some was plainly transphobic or homophobic. So much to get into here. Enjoy!
Hey Funsters! We talk about allll the apps we can think of. We discuss etiquette on them or lack thereof as well as the old days that Jon remembers from a time before Grindr. Marcus talks about his love of faces. What a time to be alive.
We talk about various retail and customer service jobs we have had. Owen Wilson makes an appearance in one of the stories. We talk about interesting coworkers, vibrators and alpha gay behaviour in workplaces. A cucumber is an unexpected podcast guest.
We talk about Brene Brown, finding a therapist, why people might avoid therapy, and having a little sh!t as your therapist. We ask the question whether you want someone hot helping expand your brain and help you with your behaviours. It’s an important one this week, Funsters!
We talk about nostalgia in this episode. Looking back at our childhood, when we really knew we were gay and the things we miss and the things we don’t. Older and possibly wiser everyday trying to be a beacon of light for queers that come after us.
We talk about art and the Golden Girls, Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, and Courtney Love. The nature of art and how much truth goes into it. We talk about social media and Jon’s new stand up comedy career.
