It's Friday, which means The Shoot Around. Robert Horry, Rob Jenners and B-Dawg are back with your questions, and K-Mac kicks it off by asking for an official ruling: did the Clippers' in-arena host really rip one on the mic during a dance team intro, or was the clip doctored? Our sound guy has thoughts.
We also take a minute for Patrick Stewart, who passed away this week at 86. Professor X, Captain Picard, the American Dad! voice work. The guys also remember Tim Curry and Dolly Parton from a rough year of losses. Then Tim sends in the Brewers kid crying on the local news after the World Series and asks if we've ever been that happy about a team winning. Jenners goes back to building the Braves' 2021 World Series broadcast, Harp talks Rams, and Horry explains why beating the Spurs in '95 felt bigger than any of his seven rings.
Jaylen Brown's $20,000 toilet makes ocean sounds when it flushes, so naturally we spend way too long on Horry's toilet. Garrett puts seven legends at a table (Bird, Magic, Kobe, LeBron, Steph, Shaq and Duncan) and asks who gets up when MJ walks in. Plus Lamar Odom is on OnlyFans now, and Horry tells the story of the guy at a car wash who offered him $450,000 cash to be the face of a dispensary. He said no. Harp and Jenners are still not over it.

We're a day late this week (Election Day off, you understand), but Big Shot Bob is back with plenty to get through. Robert Horry, Rob Jenners and B-Dawg open with Giannis calling Luka one of the best scorers ever, then spend real time on the biggest news in sports media: Ernie Johnson says this is his last season hosting Inside the NBA. Horry talks about what it meant as a player to hear EJ say your name, Harp shares what Ernie is like off camera, and the crew makes the case that nobody should even try to replace him. Retire the name with him.
Then it's injury week. Anthony Edwards is out at least two months after knee surgery, Chet is down with a patellar tendon tear, and Jaren Jackson Jr., Haliburton and Ja are all banged up. Horry has a theory: guys go from zero to 100 without ramping up, and too many of them skip the weight room. He brings receipts, including the time Penny Hardaway told him he doesn't do legs, and explains why Giannis, Dirk and Steph got stronger and lasted. Plus congrats to the Valkyries on a Game 7 title win over the Dream.
Around the league: the Sixers are 7-1 and the guys argue over whether Boston boos Jaylen Brown in his first trip back, the Grizzlies' hot start ends against (of all teams) the Pelicans, Draymond picks up his first ejection of the year with Dillon Brooks flying in from the rafters, Yaxel Lendeborg keeps putting up numbers for Golden State, and the Hornets and Thunder announce jersey retirements for Muggsy Bogues and Russell Westbrook.
Over to college football. FSU finally fired Mike Norvell, and his $50 million buyout lands him on the Mount Rushmore of coaches getting paid to sit at home. The guys talk NIL and why athletic departments are underwater, then make picks on a loaded weekend: BYU-Utah, Texas-Mizzou, Alabama-LSU, Oregon-Ohio State, Kentucky-Tennessee, Miami at Notre Dame and Georgia at Ole Miss. Big Shot of the Week goes to the Red Baron pizza guy who shut down a prankster, and we close with a game of Inside Inside the NBA. How well do Horry and Harp know the show?

Shoot Around is back. It's been about a month since our last Friday show, and the official explanation is that Rob Horry is an old man who has to sit out back-to-backs. Episode 150, with Robert Horry, Rob Jenners and Brandon "B-Dog" Harper. It's Halloween weekend, so we start there. Harp has wanted to go as Blade for two years and keeps putting it off. Horry stays in when he's in LA because the whole city turns into a street party. The last time he dressed up was in San Antonio, as a Grim Reaper nobody recognized. Then your questions. Marcelo wants to know if players hear the arena music, and whether the home team gets a say. (Also, Marcelo, Hornets-Wizards tickets were cheaper than a bottle of Dasani at the game.) Q asks about the NBA putting chips in basketballs, and Rob Horry is not a fan. Craig asks if Rob ever thought about naming his son Junior. He did name his son Robert, and he'd change it if he could. The upgrade story on the school trip is a good one.In between, we argue about Jay-Z headlining the Super Bowl and who we'd pick instead, from Drake to Morgan Wallen to the Foo Fighters. Then Horry admits he listens to country music, which was supposed to be a secret. We finish with evil genius moments. A guy on Reddit swapped out a road sign 13 years ago so he could make a right turn. Rob Jenners tops it with the story of his old boss, a glass studio door and a pack of half-pound weights. And Horry explains what was really going through his head on the Steve Nash body check.Got a question for Shoot Around? Send it our way. For the first time in about a month, all three of us are in the same place. Robert Horry is back to work (and a little cranky about it), Harp is back from the casino, and Rob Jenners is off the road. Episode 282 of the Big Shot Bob Podcast.
We start with the WNBA Finals. A'ja Wilson has five MVPs, so who's her NBA comp? Then the fight: Game 6 between the Dream and the Valkyries tips at 12:30 on a weekday in Atlanta and airs on E! and SyFy. Harp says the NBA should have stepped in for its little sister. Rob says this one is on the WNBA. Rob Horry has a simpler fix, and a story about the Lakers getting rushed off the floor in Philly to celebrate a title in a back hallway.
From there: is State Farm Arena the best building in the league when Atlanta actually shows up? The Knicks sent employees a fake championship ring email as a phishing test, then handed assistant coaches empty boxes. That leads to Horry pulling out his own rings on camera and explaining why the '95 Rockets ring, from his favorite title, is the worst one he owns.
Also this week: Jalen Williams' ankle injury and why nobody needs the slow-mo replay, Kawhi's knee (again), LeBron's golf swings during the anthem, a Warriors rookie getting under Luka's skin, and the defensive rule Horry teaches kids that you will never forget. Plus the Cavs blowing two big leads, the early unbeaten and winless teams, and Harp finally turning in his playoff picks with a week of games in his back pocket.
We close with college football picks (Auburn-Ole Miss, Georgia-Florida, Northwestern-Oregon, Miami-UNC, Ohio State-USC), a fight over whether Harp gets credit for the weeks he missed, Big Shot of the Week, and a higher-or-lower game on new guys in new uniforms.

NBA SEASON IS BACK!!! And the crew is... mostly back. Harp phones in from the casino floor at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River in Murphy, North Carolina, Robert Horry is squeezing us in before a flight, and Rob Jenners is just glad real basketball tips off tonight.
We start with the Lakers waiving Dalton Knecht. Robert isn't surprised, shares what his old college coach told him about Knecht's scoring, and names a couple of teams that should go get him (Denver, you need a shooter). Then it's ring night at the Garden. Robert knows the other side of that one. His first year in San Antonio, he had to sit there and watch the Spurs get rings for beating his Lakers. He also tells the story of the 1995 Rockets ring that came out looking cheap.
From there it's Steph's ankle scare, the Porzingis illness, Draymond showing up heavy, and Ben Simmons tearing his Achilles right when he looked like himself again. We also get into the NBA's memo cracking down on certain prop bets, and why the leagues' sudden moral compass is hard to take seriously when the sponsors are sportsbooks and beer companies.
In the WNBA Finals, the Atlanta Dream finally won a Finals game and Angel Reese put up some history. We talk about the viral clip of her walking off when she didn't get the ball, and Robert explains what he'd tell her and what Shaq used to do instead.
Harp had to bail once the afternoon show took over his table, so Robert and Rob lock in their East and West playoff picks without him. His are coming next week. Robert has the Wizards in the playoffs (with an asterisk), Rob has the Celtics second in the East, and we'll be holding all of it over each other until April.
We close with the college football weekend where five of the top seven teams lost, picks for Miami-Pitt, Indiana-Michigan, Tennessee-South Carolina, Texas A&M-Alabama and Ole Miss-Texas, Big Shot of the Week for Brooklyn Green, and a game called Number One With a Bullet: how many No. 1 overall picks did Robert play with?
