Episode 191: The Growth You Never Asked For with Pam Vredevelt (Part 1)   Sometimes the hardest seasons are the ones we never saw coming. And when you're a woman who leads a business, cares for a family, and shows up for everyone else, it can be easy to keep moving without giving yourself permission to grieve.   In this episode of SHE CAN SHARE, I’m joined by Pam Vredevelt, a therapist with over 40 years of experience and the author of 17 books, including Mending Miracles. Pam shares her deeply personal journey through loss and how God met her in the middle of heartbreak. Together, we unpack what grief really looks like, why staying busy doesn’t make it disappear, and how we can begin healing without putting pressure on ourselves to move on before we’re ready.   In this episode, you’ll discover: Why grief can come from more than losing a loved one, including unexpected changes, job loss, and shattered dreams. How naming your emotions can help you understand what’s happening inside. Practical ways to process grief through prayer, journaling, and honest conversations with God. Why healing happens best in relationships and how to support someone without trying to fix them. How to give yourself grace when your healing journey doesn’t follow anyone else’s timeline.   If you’re walking through a season you never expected, I hope this conversation reminds you that you don’t have to rush your healing. Even in the darkest grief, God can still be planting seeds of new life.   Connect with Pam Vredevelt: Find Pam’s information and resources in the show notes.   And come back for Part 2 as we continue this conversation about grief, healing, and the growth God can bring from seasons we never would have chosen.   Pam Vredevelt is an Author, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Inspirational Speaker Pam’s reputation as a sought-after counselor, popular conference speaker, and best-selling author is built on her ability to explore real life issues with authenticity, warmth, and humor. Life doesn’t always wait for you to feel ready, healed, or put together before it asks you to keep moving.   In this episode of She Can Share, I’m letting you into a really vulnerable season of my life. Right now, some beautiful things are happening—my book is launching, doors are opening, and God is expanding my influence—while at the same time, I’m walking through one of the most painful seasons of my life. Somehow, the joy and the grief are existing at the same time.   I’m sharing what God has been teaching me about grief, showing up when you feel messy, and not believing that you have to wait until everything is perfect before you move forward.   In this episode, you’ll discover: Why you can experience grief and beautiful things at the same time How to give yourself permission to feel your emotions instead of stuffing them down Why being in a difficult season doesn’t disqualify you from what God has called you to do What Jeremiah 29 taught me about prospering and expanding even in exile Why God may still be calling you to show up, serve others, and build while you’re hurting What it really means to “do it messy” when you’re the messy one   You don’t have to wait for life to be perfect to do the thing God has called you to do. Sometimes, you have to show up right in the middle of the mess—and trust that God is there with you.   If you’re walking through a hard season right now, I hope this episode reminds you that you are not disqualified, forgotten, or alone. There is still hope in Christ, even here.   Get Your Copy of Firebrand Book:  FitinfaithmediaFirebrand | F.I.T. in Faith MediaMore actions    Ready to expand your message? Sometimes the thing standing between you and the next step isn’t a lack of ability—it’s the voice in your own head telling you that you can’t.   In this episode of She Can Share, I’m getting real about the thoughts and limiting beliefs that have held me back—and might be holding you back too. From worrying about what people will think to telling yourself you’re not good enough, not smart enough, too much, too shy, or simply not ready, these thoughts can quietly keep us from sharing the gifts, dreams, and messages God has placed inside us.   In this episode, you’ll discover: How fear of other people’s opinions can keep you from stepping out Why negative self-talk can become one of the biggest things holding you back How to recognize and challenge limiting beliefs The difference between knowing your weaknesses and allowing them to define you Why God calls us to move beyond fear and step forward with boldness How to “mother yourself” with encouragement instead of constantly criticizing yourself   You have something to say. You have something to give. And there may be someone on the other side of your message who needs to hear it. So stop letting what other people might think—or what you’ve been telling yourself—keep you stuck. Take it to the Lord, challenge those limiting beliefs, and take the next step.   If this episode encouraged you, I’d love to hear from you. There are seasons when following God means being willing to walk a little differently than everyone around you.   In this episode, I’m talking about what it really means to live set apart in your business—and why being set apart doesn’t always feel comfortable. Sometimes God calls us into lonely places, pruning seasons, and moments where we have to trust Him before we can see what He’s doing.   We’ll talk about what happens when God expands your influence, why expansion can sometimes feel lonely, and how to stay grounded in God’s presence when you’re making big decisions in your business, brand, or calling.   In this episode, you’ll discover: Why being set apart can require you to become comfortable with uncomfortable seasons How God uses pruning and solitude to prepare us for greater influence Why expansion doesn’t always mean adding more—it can mean letting go How to trust God when you feel alone, misunderstood, or uncertain about your next step Why seeking God first matters when you’re making major business and life decisions How to recognize that God’s presence—not the outcome—is where your victory begins   And remember, being set apart doesn’t mean being abandoned. God is with you in the lonely places, the valley seasons, and the mountaintops.   Get Your Copy of Firebrand Book: https://fitinfaithmedia.com/firebrand   Ready to expand your message? Misty shares what she’s learned through seasons of hardship, grief, faith, and stepping into the next chapter God has for her.   If you’re walking through a season where you feel like you’re between what was and what’s next, this conversation will encourage you to keep trusting God and take the next brave step.   Connect with Misty: Rise & River — https://riseandriver.org/   Take a little time to listen, reflect, and ask God where He may be inviting you to live—and lead—more set apart in this season.
Sometimes the biggest step toward what God has next for you is deciding what you’re finally ready to let go of.   As we move into the final quarter of 2026, I’ve been thinking about what’s working, what isn’t, and what might need to be eliminated in order to make room for expansion. Because expansion doesn’t always mean adding more clients, more content, more opportunities, or more responsibilities. Sometimes, it requires subtraction first.   In this episode, we’re talking about the things we may have outgrown but are still carrying—old habits, obligations, relationships, business models, roles, or even identities. I’ll share why elimination isn’t necessarily failure; sometimes, it’s obedience.   In this episode, you’ll discover: Why expansion often requires subtraction before addition How to recognize what is draining your energy or no longer producing fruit The difference between what is familiar and what is actually fruitful Why something God blessed in one season may not be something He’s asking you to carry into the next How to make room for the calling God is expanding you into Why trusting God sometimes means stepping into the uncomfortable space between what you’re releasing and what comes next   And because you don’t need to carry everything into your next season, I want to encourage you to prayerfully ask: What needs to go?   Ready to expand your message?
