Send us a text It was always so confusing to me when people have gone out of their way to act ugly and hateful and it can make you start to question yourself like what did I do to you? And a possible answer to that could very simply be nothing. Maybe you didn’t do anything for them to act hateful to you, in fact maybe you went out of your way to show kindness or grace. The thing that helps me feel encouraged is to remind myself that they are obviously hurting, and I truly believe when people ...
Send us a text God has a specific calling on each of our lives and since He’s a loving God, He’s not going to force us to do anything. And sometimes when we think we know better, we start making decisions with our own agenda in mind and those plans we made don’t quite work out the way we hoped. Maybe you’ve experienced a deep loss or rejection or there’s something that’s happened in your life that you just can’t see why. In those moments, as hard as it may be, we just have to trust that He’s ...
Send us a text No matter what stage of life we find ourselves in, there are going to be highs and lows. The good news, is that the only constant we have to rely on is a compassionate and Mighty Father. One who cares about the details, who cares about your heart and who has called you for a greater purpose. When we are more focused on our own strength and our own agenda, it's no wonder we often feel stressed out and discouraged. When we focus more on Jesus, and His purpose for our life, everyt...
Send us a text Part of me wanted to re-record this episode, as I get pretty emotional during it, but I know myself and it probably wouldn't have turned out any better a second time. It's okay to ask God for what you need. The big and scary prayers, He can handle them. You can trust Him. Ask and you will receive, knock and the door will be opened, seek Him wholeheartedly and you WILL find Him. He loves to reveal Himself to us and He loves to bless His children. You are seen. You are know...
Send us a text With this new season of Kingdom Work, I want us to get comfortable with sometimes being uncomfortable. That's a lot of what being a Christian is. Being a follower of Christ and being made new isn't always pretty or "aesthetically pleasing," but it's about surrender. And where there is surrender, there is freedom. Part of surrendering is trusting that what God is doing is good. Because it is! I believe He is calling each of us to draw near to Him, to trust in His promises becaus...
Send us a text In this week's church sermon my pastor talked about how you finish something is how you start the next thing. And in the very end of today's reading we learn about a poor widow who gave everything she had to Jesus. As this is end of Season 1 of Kingdom Work and the end of the year 2024, I pray each of us finish the year with a surrendered heart posture. I pray that we would give everything we have to Jesus, lay it all down at His feet. That we would finish strong, encouraged, e...
Send us a text When we get to know Jesus, we understand the depths of his love for us. Something changes within us that makes us want to obey God’s calling not because we have to/ because that’s what christians do, no but because we understand that what God wants is what’s best for us. Sometimes he calls us to do things we think are impossible, uncomfortable, we don’t understand it, we don’t know why, but there is blessing in obedience. He is the God of healing, of restoration, of peace, he i...
Send us a text Being in any relationship is hard work. It takes intention, time, prayer, effort, communication, sacrifice, grace, community and support. Marriage was created by God for His Glory so if He isn’t at the center of your heart and your relationship, it will be much more difficult and hurtful when problems or conflict arise...the other person is a person at the end of the day, and since they are not Jesus they will inevitably disappoint you. Because of this, I think it’s important w...
Send us a text We are not always going to have a perfect faith, and in this chapter we learn that we are not alone in feeling doubt or unbelief. It’s easy to trust Him when we see the miracle and we see the answered prayer but in the moments we don’t see it happen, it’s hard to not have some disappointment and confusion about what He's doing and how He's moving. However, we're encouraged to go to God in these moments and cry out for help. Just like the father said to Jesus, "I believe, but he...
Send us a text Our faith doesn’t come down to anyone else’s opinion on who God is or who He should be in our life. When you’re in the middle of something you need rescuing from, you need to be able to confidently call on Jesus as the Messiah, your Savior in this life and for eternity. If you struggle with the idea of this, I challenge you to dig deeper and just talk to Him one on one. He will prove himself as a gracious, loving Father who is worthy to be praised. Seek for yourself and find th...
Send us a text Because we live in a broken world, where sin is in our nature, we all fall short of God's Glory. This means that just as you and I are capable of hurting someone else’s feelings, it’s inevitable that someone will eventually hurt you or let you down. But in those moments, remember that it is not Jesus who hurt you, it’s sin and brokenness that causes us pain and it’s only through Him that we can actually find healing and wholeness. You are seen. You are known. You are loved.
Send us a text Many times in scripture Jesus uses unlikely people to glorify God, and He can do the same with you and me. If you feel uncomfortable or unqualified, you’re not alone in feeling that. God used ordinary people all of the time to do extraordinary work for His Glory. Many people will doubt and criticize you, as they did to Jesus even in his hometown. But you are a beautiful creation in which God has a specific purpose. He will give you everything you need to fulfill the calling He ...
Send us a text The people in this chapter couldn’t deny Jesus' miracle working power after witnessing it themselves. Our God is a faithful God, and this means He STILL does miracles. If there is an area in your life that needs restoration or healing or breakthrough, just because He hasn't doesn't mean He can't or won't. Jesus is saying to you, "don't be afraid. Just have faith." So that's my prayer for you today. Trust God with everything you have, even if that's only a little bit. He can do ...
Send us a text If we don’t continually choose to seek God and choose to make him a priority, He won’t be. We’re selfish beings. And this is what the enemy feeds off of because he knows it’s natural for us to do what feels selfish. We have to continue to choose Jesus and plant deep roots of faith. This requires time planting our seed, spending time building a relationship with Jesus. Without a strong foundation in Christ, we’re in a much more vulnerable place when we're faced with challenges. ...
Send us a text Jesus says, "I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” We don’t have to act like we have it altogether as if just because we're a Christian we never sin or we never get tempted to sin... That’s never going to be the case. God knows better and that is why we have salvation in Jesus. This is also an invitation to come to Jesus just as you are, not feeling the need to hide or cover anything up from Him. Allow Him to make you ...
Send us a text A lot of people we read about in the bible cared more about the miracles and life transformation than what the miracle meant (who the Miracle was). They cared more about the healing than the Healer. I wonder if this is sometimes true in our own lives... The good news is, we serve a compassionate and loving Father who is willing to heal us even if we may not understand or recognize the big picture and meets us right where we are with His grace and mercy, every time. You are seen...
Send us a text There are things that happen in life that we may not understand and let’s be honest, it hurts. Knowing Jesus is the only way we can experience fulness and peace without understanding. And through believing in Him and that He is the son of god, we can experience this for all of eternity. When He calls on your name, like He does with Peter in this chapter and says "follow me," are you willing to do it? He asks us to let go and trust and follow Him because His plans are so m...
Send us a text Today's reading will go over the death and resurrection of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. After this, we see Thomas (one of Jesus' disciples) still doubting and claims that once he sees it, he'll believe it. I think we can tend to have the same attitude in our own lives. Jesus says "blessed are those who believe without seeing me." Let's pray to remain faithful in His goodness and allow our belief to be bigger than our doubt, even when we can't see. You are seen. You a...
Send us a text Today's reading consists of the Betrayal of Jesus and His arrest, Peter's denial of being one Jesus' disciples and the trial before the Roman Governor, Pilate. This ends with the freeing of a murderous rebel named Barabbas to please the Jewish leaders rather than doing what Pilate believed was right, which was to declare Jesus as innocent. We are reminded once again today that Jesus is Lord, and things are playing out exactly as He predicts. You are seen. You are kn...
Send us a text There is a very real spiritual battle that we face every day, and a very real enemy who wants to destroy us and see us fail. The Lord tells us by the power in Jesus' name we are covered and protected and He tells us this so that we may have joy. By remaining in His love, we are able to experience unity with Christ which allows those around us to feel and experience His love so they may believe in Him. You are seen. You are known. You are loved.
