In this engaging conversation, the speakers dive into the complex world of "nice guys" and "good girls," examining how we define ourselves and the struggles we face in doing so. They carefully analyze the behaviors and habits linked with these roles, revealing how trying to please others and neglecting our own needs can be harmful. They stress the importance of setting boundaries and being confident in expressing ourselves.
The discussion goes beyond personal growth, touching on how these dynamics affect our relationships, including marriage and parenting. They acknowledge how the "nice guy syndrome" can strain intimacy and family ties but also highlight the importance of self-respect, having clear goals, and effective communication for healthy relationships.
Honesty emerges as a central theme, emphasizing the value of being truthful with ourselves and others. They encourage sticking to personal goals and being open to constructive criticism.
They also explore the journey of discovering our identity and battling against conformity to build self-confidence. They reflect on finding meaning and strength in faith, promoting inner healing and spiritual growth.
As the conversation wraps up, they offer practical advice like the "75 Easy Challenge" to promote self-care, establish boundaries, and boost self-esteem. These steps are seen as essential tools for overcoming challenges, whether they come from external sources or internal doubts.

Hey, I'm Trevor, and I'm Bridgett. I'm he, and I'm she.
Together we are just two unlikely friends who supported each other through the ups and downs of life, love, and business. Now we're married and navigating the continued growth points that our life has to offer through divorce, remarriage, parenting, grief, loss, and everything in between. After retiring as a lieutenant in the fire department, selling a business and going all in on real estate investment, I found myself bankrupt and homeless with a wife and four young kids to support. I've worked in 30 companies, went through a divorce after 25 years of marriage, spent 15 years as a leader in churches, and I've now been pursuing God outside of organized religion since 2016. My wins and losses have allowed me to lead powerful spiritual retreats for men and experience supernatural signs and wonders. I've experienced deep grief as well through the death of my son at birth and the loss of my marriage of seven years. I've worked as a licensed marriage and family therapist for more than a decade, as well as a pastor, inner healing trainer and facilitator, and prophetic teacher. I'm passionate about having an intimate friendship with God and inviting others to do the same. We've both struggled with an identity crisis, deception, distraction, depression, shame, guilt, fear, self-doubt, and broken relationships, while pursuing a life of purpose and power. We've learned some things the hard way, so you won't have to. Yeah, because who's got time for that? This podcast is for you if you are desiring greater connection, direction and purpose in your life. Come join us as we bring you behind the scenes of our life while having candid conversations, unpacking various topics on identity, relationships and the kingdom of God. Welcome to The Conversation.
