Description

We all need help with our calling of God.

This podcast will help you see your calling as an INVITATION into something bigger than yourself rather than seeing your calling as a DESTINATION of something to be attained.

SEASON 1 offers some insights and several amazing interviews of professionals discussing their life's journey. Some leaders include a lawyer who gets a second chance, a university president who loves his students, a variety of types of doctors, a school headmaster who lives under the influence of his grandfather, and a few unique pastoral voices. May their stories encourage you.

SEASON 2 offers a deep dive into the matters of the human heart that affect all of us. Dr. Conrad uses the second season to talk out deep matters of the human heart to help him write a book on the human heart.

SEASON 3 offers some 15-20 minute exhortative commentaries on some biblical characters who had to wrestle with their calling. This encouraging season may have you seeing biblical characters differently than you have ever seen them before.

In Genesis 18, Abraham petitions with God for at least 10 people to be found righteous for God not to destroy Sodom. Unfortunately, 10 were not found. YET, in Genesis 19, God was faithful to Lot and his family to give them opportunity to leave before the angels destroyed the city. Abraham was a part of this journey through his prayers. Lot was preserved. Even though it wasn't 10 people, at least one family was preserved. There is power in intercession. May the Lord use you to chan...
God welcomed Abraham into a journey of intercession on behalf of Sodom. Because of the calling of God on Abraham's life, God worked with Abraham based on who Abraham was. As we walk with God and begin to understand and embrace who we are, He will welcome us into some of His affairs. The affairs may not have anything to do with us, but God trusts us. Will we be faithful and trustworthy, allowing God to use us to change other people's lives? In Abraham's situation, the Lord responde...
As you grow in your relationship with the Lord, you will begin to get more exclusive access to God's agenda. "Many are called, yet few are chosen..." God calls out to many to participate in the journey that God has prepared, yet there are conditions and character dynamics required to be chosen. There is a place of friendship with God where He will reveal deeper things to those who are chosen. In Genesis 18:16+, God identifies how He has chosen Abraham... May we all be faithful to our calling ...
In Genesis 18, Abraham is hospitable to three angels who come to visit him about his child coming soon. Abraham is living life, and God interrupts; thus, Abraham is responsive. The goal of this walk with the Lord is about being responsive to the Lord and his agenda. In comparison, others in scripture were simply responsive to the crazy story that God tells. Consider Jesus' mother, Mary, who is an engaged young woman willing to let God use her body to bring forth God's son, Jesus. ...
In Genesis 17, Abraham is reminded of the promise that God has for him now, after 24 years of waiting. He laughs. Abraham's laughter is probably after processing the reality of the matter: He has waited now 24 years. He has another son.He is still in an impossible situation; he's 99 and his wife is 89 years old.He has to reinforce his belief in God.As you listen in, consider that we have a God of Possibilities in the midst of impossibilities. Abraham is the Father of our Faith beca...
God is a God of covenants. Covenants regularly require the shedding of blood. When God gave Abram the covenant of circumcision, he had to cut away certain things in his life in obedience to the Lord. In your calling, have you cut away the things of the flesh (i.e., sinful nature)? In your calling, have you had your heart circumcised? In your calling, have you embraced that Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for your life, offering a covenantal sacrifice to give you access to God? Support the sho...
God changes Abram's name to Abraham in Genesis 17. Abram means "Exalted Father," yet Abraham means "Father of Many." This is a critical period of change, purpose, identity, and functionality for Abram. He was not a "Father of Many" at the time of the change; he had only one child. Why did God change Abraham's name when he was not a father of many...? God knows your function and purpose in life. Listen to this episode regarding your name, calling, and function in the Kingdom. Is there failure in the Kingdom of God? Consider that we have a God who works all things together for our good. Are what we call failures really failures? God writes crazy stories. Like the characters in the Bible, we may be tempted to rewrite God's story for our lives. Allow the Lord to tell the story even if it seems crazy. Obey the Lord. Allow the sovereignty of God to have its way. Tune in to how Abram and Sarai have to process the crazy story of God. God is full of character, and when he says something, he is true to it. His promises can come from past generations and will last beyond our generation. Will you consider that God's story is bigger than only our generation? God needs a human participant to fulfill the story of the Lord on earth through your generational line. Will you be honest with God in your calling? Please be encouraged by this message. In Genesis 15, Abram is raw and honest with God in a moment of fear. Abram just got back from rescuing his nephew, and fear is real. Abram was raw and honest, and the Lord knew how to handle it. Will you be raw and honest before the Lord, especially in those things he has called you to? Abram's journey to become the "Father of Our Faith" included several fearful moments. It seems that fulfilling your calling will involve many fearful moments. Abram had 75 years of comfort; God called him to leave everything. While traveling to Egypt during a famine, Abram lies about his wife being his sister due to the fear of his life in a new land. Abram, not knowing what would happen during a war when his nephew gets captured, courageously goes and rescues his nephew but comes back scared...
Have you ever felt separated from someone close to you? God may be separating you from certain relationships for a purpose, as you have a unique journey that you must walk alone. God is a storyteller, and we are yielding our lives as a sacrifice to Him as He tells the story. Hopefully, this episode will serve as an encouragement to you. Have you ever had moments when you looked at your circumstances and made decisions, but your judgment was wrong? Abram did this. Many biblical characters have done this. I have done this. You've probably done this: We've made judgments based on circumstances instead of looking at God's plan. The solution is to stay with the script of the "Playwriter" (i.e., God's plan). Stay connected to God and hear His heart for what He has for you. Tune in to hear Dr. Conrad unpack Abram's stor...
The Lord will offer us opportunities to exercise faith action steps in our calling. Faith always begins with God's word and leading; we are called to be responsive to God's intentions. As you listen to episode five, consider what the Lord has spoken to you about. Your goal is to allow God's word to lead your actions, a sign of your faith. May you be encouraged. At age 75, God calls Abram to go on a journey. He has lived over 50% of his life, and he now has to uproot his past traditions, comforts, familiar world, and possibly former contentments. He has to trust the God of the universe with His "I will" statements of promise. Abram has to let go. Abram has to give up. Abram has to make a decision. Abram is on a faith journey. What is God saying today about your faith journey with Him? Support the show Email: info@daviesassociatesllc...
Sometimes, God is trying to pass along a "baton" from one generation to another. Out of Genesis 11, we see a possible passing on of a "baton" in the story of Terah, the father of Abram, to Abram. How do you continue the story of your family line? In the scriptures, Abram seems to be in the spotlight of the biblical story, but this does not mean that Abram is the beginning of the story. I would submit that God continues stories of family lines, which means your life is much bigger ...
Season 3! This second episode introduces the story of Terah, Abram's father, and Abram in Genesis 11 and 12. This begins the "unpacking" of some biblical characters and how they wrestled with their calling. In this episode, I also introduced a potentially encouraging framework about the seven categories of women surrounding those called. Please feel free to revisit this episode two several times to ensure you understand what has been shared. I trust my prayers, commentary, ...
Welcome to Season 3! This season will include 15-20 minutes of short commentary about biblical characters who wrestled with their calling. May the Lord speak to you clearly regarding His call for you. You are invited to this journey. Today's episode outlines a framework for wrestling with your calling: 1) The Calling 2) The Moment(s) 3) The Wrestle 4) The Potential __________________________________ If you need assistance in wrestling with your calling, please contact us through our web...
The only thing that unlocks the human heart is the word of God. King David says it clearly in that he hid God's word in his heart so that he would not sin against the Lord (Psalm 119). This theme runs throughout all of scripture: The Word of God is the answer to the problems of the human heart.
