Every Monday for the month of October, we’ll be telling the histories and haunting mysteries of some of the world’s most horrifying haunted houses. For our last Monday episode for the spooky season, I wanted to bring you a topic that I’ve had on my list for quite some time. Just like with many homes in the south built to house wealthy slave owners, this plantation house has a grueling history; some stories coming from proven fact, others seemingly more legend than truth. Today we’re talking about one of the most haunted houses in the US, Myrtles Plantation!

While walking the aisles of an antique store or resale shop, I often think about the people who owned all of this stuff before it found itself here. You know, normal questions like: Who did it come from? What were they like? Are they still alive? Was their house haunted? Did they participate in any dark rituals that may have bound a demonic entity or disgruntled spirit to these items? Even though we may never know the answers to these questions, some of our listeners have encountered a ghost or two inside a thrift store or attached to an item they felt drawn to bring home and those are the stories we’ll be telling you in this episode! Get your coziest blanket, your warm mug of tea, and settle in with one eye on that antique piece of furniture you have sitting there in your room with you as we tell stories of haunted thrift stores, a pair of pants with a ghostly attachment, and a doll possessed by the spirit of its previous owner!

Reddit is an endless archive of humanity’s most disturbing, bizarre, and deeply human stories. If you love going down internet rabbit holes, you are going to love CRIMES OF REDDIT with Alexis Linkletter and Sabrina Deana-Roga.
Every Tuesday, one host brings a set of true-crime stories while the other reacts in real time with no prep, no spoilers asking the questions on everyone’s mind. They pull at every thread until the whole twisted picture comes into view. It’s dark, it’s messy, and the scariest part is simple: THESE ARE STORIES POSTED BY REAL PEOPLE.
Follow CRIMES OF REDDIT for a new episode every Tuesday. https://pod.link/1838511303
