Description
There are no "superheroes." We don't even use that word: we call them Anomalies. And to us normal people, not blessed with the gifts of flight, or strength, or hyper-powered mech-suits, these Anomalies, regardless of their intentions, are a threat. They must be dealt with--they must be equalized. We are the Bureau for the Equalization of Anomalistic Metahumans, BEAM for short. We will solve the Anomaly problem, by whatever means necessary. The BEAM Chronicles is a sci-fi/super-hero fiction podcast hosted, written, and performed by storyteller MJ Dooney. Cidney's been an official equalizer of BEAM for a month now. He's learned a lot, mostly people's names and how to play basketball (sort of), but there are still some specific things about this place that aren't quite home. And...a nagging bit of tragedy he'd rather not think about, but can't really help himself when things get quiet. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. I did use AI created voice filters, but any likeness to a real person was NOT intended. I would one day love to do this with proper voice acting, but currently lack the resources (and/or connections) to do that with fidelity.
The whole team comes together to discuss Cidney's abilities, as well as his fate. It's kind of awkward, because he's kind of awkward, but also, if Howie's not convinced...he might just get equalized.(Sorry this episode is a day late!! After all the tragic history he discovered a few days ago, Jaxon is feeling a hefty bit of guilt. Something tells him visiting Tyler Foone, the child-murdering prick he vouched for which catalyzed the big blow out with his bestie, will help ease his guilty mind. He's in for a few surprises in the Dungeons today! You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. The greatest triumph in AvA's short history in hand, the whole team comes together to figure out what to do with Tyler Foone. Everybody is on the same page...except Jaxon. As usual. Can he convince the rest of them to save a life that doesn't really deserve saving. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Finally, a big fight! With Jaxon back in the fold, Charlie is eager to test her partner's improved abilities with something a little more substantial than he's faced in the past. Luckily Prophit forecasted something to give them a bit of a challenge...but it might turn out to be a bit more substantial than she was hoping for.You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon's punishment in Evaluations is just about finished! But before he can rejoin AvA and start busting Anomalies again, he had some pretty big revelations last week, and he needs to discuss them with Charlie. Additionally...she wants to give him some romantic advice. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon's been on his Evaluations punishment for two weeks now, and already he's realized how terrifying this department is. At least for all the bedlam and chaos, he's managed to make a new friend...maybe something more! But even a budding romance can't distract him from the gritty, tumultuous shades of gray and moral ambiguity he just wants to ignore. Ghosts have a way of haunting you for a long time at BEAM. How will Jaxon handle facing off with one directly? You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Things got...kind of messy last time, during Jaxon's first bust. And a month later, he's still not quite sure how to reconcile how things went. A meeting with Howard Prophit to finally confront the inconsistencies might seem like a good idea. It's not. But it might seem that way!You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. After reconciling fully with her new protege and (dare she say it) friend, Charlie's there to supervise Jaxon's first taste of fieldwork as an Equalizer of BEAM. Will they catch The Clap (lol)? And what happens when they get an unexpected visitor? You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. So...things ended a little awkwardly last time. Charlie and Jaxon haven't exactly spoken since then. Tensions are high. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately), Howard Prophit is going to force the issue for them, ready or not.You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Okay, so two months in now...still no busts. All according to Jaxon's plan. The longer he stays at BEAM, the more certain he is that Equalizing people is not a thing he can do. All he needs now is for everyone else to realize how bad he is at it, and maybe this whole situation will sort itself out. Also, he's a nerd and a girl is speaking to him, so naturally he's going to get weird about that...You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. It has been one month since Howard Prophit made Jaxon Teaque a proper and official Equalizer with BEAM's AvA (Anomaly vs. Anomaly) department. He's barely spoken to his partner Charlie in that time. They're supposed to be skirmishing daily. They're not. And Charlie is not particularly fond of people wasting her time...perhaps a task just boring enough to force them to talk is exactly what their partnership needs to get going. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon Teaque is in trouble. Well...maybe he's in trouble? Hard to say. He's in a limo. And he got his ass kicked and almost died, so I guess from that to limo is a step in the right direction. But uh...doesn't really feel like it. Maybe that's because of the person he's riding in the limo with, and what that particular person tends to do with people like Jaxon...You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Charlie Shayde was supposed to have a day off today. And while she's not normally one to spend a day doing nothing, it's a hard earned rest, given the challenge of her job, wrangling in the specially powered Anomalies who dot the landscape of the Capital and the world, and doing so with special abilities of her own. She deserves this break. So all of that being said...why is her boss calling her? What sort of situation could the agents of BEAM be in today that would require her lethal brand of efficiency?Song's used (from Epidemic Sound):Auxjack: Prom NightBaegel: Funky Moves You Can’t BeatBreef: PandarapsMantell: Western ShuffleFasion: 1-800-DirtyBlood Red Sun: Fish on LandDamma Beatz: Long Way Back, ChatterVV Campos: Basic OctaneSlide on Me: ZorroYou can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney.
